    That industrial area could feature the old factory Rostok (even had a GSC plague/signs on the map) that is inspired from a factory in Kiev next to where GSC Game World's building is based. They had 3 versions of Rostok in SoC.
    The old fully detailed Rostok (like how we got a fully detailed and modeled CNPP which sadly only got to see one side) where there was meant to a be a bloodsucker infestation. that was turned into a multiplayer map. The release where Rostok is renamed bar in the files and although the map size remained the same, they just deleted assests off the map for wild territory due large map issues and seperated them whilst also taking away the path to the left of Rostok so no shortcut.
    The place to the right of the Cordon used to have darkscape for the car chase squence where you could see the railway follow through. I would assume the somthing akin to darkscape will be there for the railway to follow through and it'll just probably be listed witout a special name as part of the cordon or swamp entrance.
    False path sounds like Limansk or another ghost city. I know the are repurposing, probably changing something like inspired by Dead City into Chernoybl 2.

    In Pripyat the hotel is back in it's original spot as it was moved originally in SoC to stop FPS issues, glad to see it back in it's original spot again.

    Looks like GSC is really going hard to what they may have originally invisioned for Stalker with some changes to more to be more IRL alongside it. I am really glad that GSC isn't caving to the people are going to be unhappy that the zone is going to be different than the previous games. People gotta understand that OG stalker underwent many changes and the devs couldn't give everything they were originally wanting to give us. There is a reason why an 1 1/2 video of the development of Stalker was made... it's incrediable and saddening at the same time. Hence people should happy that GSC is trying to deliver what they are wanting for us in the new age without the restrictions of the past bringing them down and having to remove features and content they were wanting us to experience. I've people be up in arms about canon "I never saw truck cemetery or this X/Y/Z location in the OG, that means it's no canon and can't be S2" I just ask "Just because you didn't see it doesn't mean the devs didn't want you to see it and if anything it's more content and more to explore... so it's not a downside at all as it's a positive. Devs want to give you more to do in their product, take the win customer." XD
    Imagine in those old days of working for years on SoC and having content you worked on unable to be shipped with the release of the game... but now they can ship it and redesign it if they want. I'm sure the original devs would be happy to see their old work reimagined in shipped with S2 on release. I know I would be.
    People saying that are unhappy with what GSC is doing... but it's not YOUR game, it's THEIR game. They decide what is best and canon and we are there for the ride that S2 is going to give us. Like have faith as S2 isn't going through the development hell that SoC did.

      People will always cry and complain about small things or changes, im happy that they are bringing cut content from oblivion lost builds like you said prob rostok factory, vehicle cemetery, and prob much more, also since garbage is much more expanded we might see some merged old build of garbage together with soc but in different locations, not to mention completely new zones.

      I can't wait for the game and it's new environments, as a fan of the original trilogy the thought of seeing these originally fairly minimalist areas get a gorgeous rework. The devs really put their hearts into this one.

      @@Krahamus There is many open areas between locations. Locations are not where they used to be in first 3 games. Area around Rostok i exetremely big and might take some traversal before you reach it first time. While area around 100 rads is almost the same, everything around the bar is different. Takes a while to get to zaton for example, while the area is wastly different than previous games, shevchenko and the other barge is exactly where you expect them to be but it seems way different

    Points at key locations cannot be something simple, because there are not so many of them. I think these dots represent a teleport system which means fast travel.

      There are fans all over the world, all these years brought new stalkers to explore the zone, also we need to thank mostly the modding community for supporting for soo many years this game and RUclips content creators to some extent.

    That "fish" above 5-th and 6-th reactors probably may be the reference to enormous catfishes, that live in cooling pond/canal of CNPP. Usually, people spot and feed them at the railroad bridge (51.388192,30.113016), that connects 1-4 reactors with 5-6 reactors.
    On this map that bridge is straight right to the 4-th reaction marking.

    the most horrifying thing about this map is pripyat is at the correct place instead of being trapped inside of a space time anomaly

    The fire here most likely means the location "Burnt Farm", from the Call of Pripyat, the ship is "Skadovsk"

    Huh, so that leaked map that I saw months ago seems to be accurate with this "official" one, though this one is hand drawn, so scale seems to be off
    The one I saw was more accurate and also showed something... interesting that I won't be spoiling

    I love how they grafted the old layout into the new open world map but having Garbage and Agroprom further apart to accommodate some "chemical plant" gives me the ick.

    01 number might be the fire station, it was the phone number to call firefighters in the past

      the fire department was in Pripyat, it was not at the CNPP

      @@Vohilem CNPP had its own Paramilitary Fire Station No. 2. It's possible that the 3rd queue of CNPP (where the 01 number is located on the map) had additional fire station being built but I can't find any info on this

      @@n1flung For a Western fan of this game, 01 means nothing. The developers would have drawn it differently if it had been a fire department.

      @@Vohilem The developers themselves are not Western, the in-universe map creator (Misha?) almost certainly too, as well as the absolute majority of stalkers for whom it was made. Don't be so self-centered, after all there are people like me who can explain such local references

    The main way new zombies could be created in the zone are controllers & emissions. Emissions are known for causing people to lose their minds if they're caught out in the open.

    IIRC cordon is completely out of the zone behind big wall and you will need a permission or quest to get past it. Also there will be many, many unfamiliar and new areas

    Would have liked if a phone number was added underneath the "The Greedy Toad" text. We call it to hear a pitched voice ranting about how life in The Zone changed throughout the decade difference between CoP and HoC storylines. A little bit of random fun, you know. Hehehehe.

    Як на мене, то всі ці товсті чорні цятки на мапі вказують на місця "ловлі" артефактів, з допомогою детекторів.

      В трейлері е3 ми могли бачити ящик інструментів для апгрейду зброї, який лежав на ящику під вежею. Також там було вогнище, також як варіант)

      Мені здається, що це точки фаст тревелу або локації з ліжком/персональним ящиком. Хоча це можуть бути також схованки/маленькі укриття, по типу таких, як в метро екзодус.(Там де ліжко, стіл для ремонту/апгрейдів)

      @@oleksandrrogozhnikov5525 як варіант, це телепорти (фаст тревел), які відкриваються за певної послідовності дії в грі, як варіант зображення місць для безпечного відпочинку чи то сну інтуітивніше виглядають численні зображення поодиноких хатинок на мапі, як на мене.

      Бо тягати декілька гвинтівок та тисячі набоїв до них з Прип'яті до Сидоровича, в умовах суттєво збільшеної зони...боляче.
      Та й мені здається, що вже не буде абузу артефактів на витривалість, як у ТЧ(коли можеш вічно бігати).
