James Kendell Bab's Uvula Who is kind of like my "guilty pleasure" song. It describes me perfectly during an anger episode, especially if I feel depressed. Jaded is perfect with Brain Stew and can even stand alone as a song. Walking Contradiction describes me totally. XD Fuck all the songs decribe me except "Geek Stink Breath" and "Tight Wad Hill".
RBK2 ahh, I've literally quoted BUW as an explanation when, well, my temper snaps and I get myself all wound up... I just love the pace of Jaded, it always gets me going and pumps the adrenaline. Brain Stew is a little slow for my liking but it's still a fucking masterpiece. And Walking Contradiction has one of my all time favourite music videos tbh. (Nice to hear you aren't a meth addict)
I rarely log into this account but thanks for the heads up. Had to scroll back through his feed yes indeed he did! it would blow my past selfs mind to know when I clicked record on that vhs in the front of the tv years ago BJ himself would be clicking play on it year later haha.
Saw them march 12th this year, I thought the opening band was better, there was no energy, and they just bitched about trump the whole time like, I know some people think he's a dickhead, but jesus christ I went there to hear music, not to her someone whine like an sjw,it got boring really fast, old green day is awsome though, insomniac,a little bit of nimrod, warning, Dookie, those were the good days
There is something so indescribably refreshing about this. No earplugs, instruments plugged in with wires, playing out of single marshal stacks. The very essence of punk rock!
i agree with all these things except earplugsif they dont have earplugs the sheer volume of everything (guitar, bass, drums...) would do significant damage to their eardrums and as musicians I think that would be very detrimental for them
95-96 Green Day played so fast and angry. It's my favorite era from them, even though it lasted just a bit more than 2 years. After 97 they were still great, but they tone down the tempo of the songs. I was just watching a performance from 2017 and it seems they're playing in slow motion in that video. 😂 They went from 210BPM in 96, to 185 in 98' and 180 nowadays.
I appreciate this, regardless of the fact that this only has six thousand views, I gurantee every one of those people who watched this got something good out of it, thanks again. ;D
Billie's guitar has got a THE LIVING END sticker on it.. this is shortly after Green Day toured Australia with TLE supporting them.. sick rockabilly band from Melbourne, unfortunately (like Green Day) they have become far more mainstream and radio friendly in the time that has since passed
Well spotted. I didn't notice & it doesn't really matter one iota, with the amount of energy they're playing with & the power of the song. Electric! "The Living End" sticker on the guitar, token 90's babe presenter Dani Behr & on their merry way to Nimrod: Thanks for posting @MrSifta
@greendepent yup vhs indeed. Spent 12 months waiting on ebay to get the exact same vhs player I taped it on as a teen. Still full of 'pops' and fuzz but to be expected on a nearly 15 years old tape thats been in the loft!
He'd been playing just 'Blue' on stage for years & would end up playing more Gibson SGs, especially around 'Warning', but this might be the earliest video of it. Mike has played all sorts in their time.
BILLIE JOE HAS LOTS OF NICE GUITARS :) HIS FAMOUS BLUE FENDER STRATOCASTER, FERNANDES STRATOCASTERS AND GIBSON SG AND LES PAUL JRS . GOOD JOB , KEEP ON ROCKING HARD PUNKERS GREEN DAY
Totally agree. Dookie is iconic, but for my taste Insomniac is without a doubt my favorite. Everything else before and after those two are very vanilla.
After such a crazy ass year and a crazy ass album like dookie, how could they make such a kick ass album while on tour in 1994 and release it a year later 🤔😩😱
They wanted to try something different, they said so themselves. They even said on an interview that people should not be expecting the 'old' greenday. Billie Joe said himself that he makes music to make him happy, so why don't you leave him alone. You don't like the new albums, don't listen to them. Simple as that!
Thats what i was thinking you meant but it doesnt really sound out of tune. He is tuned down half a step that might be why it sounds off. I had to make sure you actually knew what you were talking about too :P
This was actually played in 1994. but played so fast they went in 1995.
Kristian Kolar the video says 96...
Pink Guy Jesus Christ, they could've gone into 1997. if they were playing a little faster. :O
Man what are you talking about the flash couldn't even keep up with them they were so fast
Kristian Kolar nice profile picture
Played in 94? This song is from Insomniac, not Dookie.
This song along with 86 made me fall in love with their album "Insomniac".
RBK2 Jaded, Bab's Uvula Who? and Walking Contradiction make it for me. Best fucking album, yet most Green Day "fans" never heard of it...

ditto
Word
insomniac is the best album by green day
man.. I cannot agree more
A thousand percent yes. Nimrod was still okaaaaaay, probably where I'd mark the transition. Cos after that they became a different band.
Insomniac, Dookie and American Idiot their best albums
Auramyna Wow really? nimrod is my favorite.
how about shenanigans? :/
The most Green Day video I have EVER seen.
Yeh. Did it.
Billie has a Gibson SG... with a Living End sticker on it!
Fucken awesome!
Congrats Billie just posted this video on his instagram

Thats some kicking speed, jesus
I love everything about this performance! The atmosphere, the crowd, the sound, it's just so epic! Love green day with a passion ! :)
mike dirnt is such an underrated bass player! people don't realize how important his sound and technique is.
Back when Green Day had ENERGY in their songs. Man I miss that.
Luciano Farias Age man, they still put on a great show
+Luciano Farias Green day back then... meth...
Whatever it was, man they rocked out. I saw them in '94 during the Dookie tour, one of the best shows I've ever seen. So much energy!
And all that energy was from speed..
I was born 26th April 1996
I love this ! Green Day is my favourite band
gotta love tre's facial expressions

@@SoniKast op was most likely refering to in-ear monitors for tempo. not earplugs. I don't think green day used in-ear monitors back in the 90s.
I fucking love Dookie, Insomniac, and Nimrod ugh
I do not dislike you.
+TexMexRustlinGirl Same! Golden Albums. Don't forget Kurplunk and Smooth out Slappy Hours.
Fuck I love them all xD
Kerplunk !
I love the 6th string being out of tune!
it's an SG of course it's out of tune haha.
MrKrallesam I knew something was wrong
Dude I hate when that happens, thanks to the position of the guitar... Always happens to me
it sounds like shit
@@amirmasjid2351 Exactly

I would LOOOOOOVE to see Green Day in a supersmall venue like this! One of my fav all time songs!!!! 0/

I FREAKING LOVE THIS SONG!
best punkrock band ever
Green Day and Dani Behr , this is a 90s fantasy ❤😊
Very underrated Green Day song. One of my favorites.
I wanna remember em like this. 3 The whole point was it was raw. These days, well idk I refuse to listen. :(
Cocaine is one hell of a drug.
this is back when Billie used to have that little tick where he kinda flicks his head while singing.. doesn't do that anymore
Salty Sea Pickle meth*
Jean-marc Bottaro speed*
They are both similar and they were doing both
I think they liked coke more than meth as they said in an interview
Billie's guitar has got a THE LIVING END sticker on it.. this is shortly after Green Day toured Australia with TLE supporting them.. sick rockabilly band from Melbourne, unfortunately (like Green Day) they have become far more mainstream and radio friendly in the time that has since passed
so fast and so cool

I remember seeing a repeat of this on tv in about ‘98 when I was 14. I thought Billie was literally the coolest guy on the planet.

Totally agree. Dookie is iconic, but for my taste Insomniac is without a doubt my favorite. Everything else before and after those two are very vanilla.
What?! this is the first time I have ever saw him play an SG.
How fast they’re playing my word 😮

It can be explained by how he strums soooooo softly XD
