Yep and people just don't get it. With heatstroke for a dog it's a 50/50 chance of death. When I got my xl bully Babygirl, she arrived to me malnourished, dirty and suffering active heatstroke. I prayed so hard, gave her water, sat in the fan and wiped her down with cool cloths for 8 hours until her pulse finally came down. I just stayed by her and didn't leave her until she got better. Scariest 8 hrs of my life. People are really sick and twisted.

@@perla3547 I don’t have a car, and I don’t know how to drive a cars. I learned from RUclips videos and news that cars could be extremely hot in summer. I also learned that dogs can’t eat onion after I fed my dogs onions twice, fortunately he’s totally fine. Fortunately I never feed my dog chocolates, I learned this years ago. However I don’t have a chance to learn those things from school. I tried my best to learn things about dogs from RUclips. Who knows what else important things I still don’t know about dogs.

See in the town we live in my mom called a cop when it was 119 degrees mid-day and a dog was stuck in a car. The dog was panting and looked pretty out of it. I kid you not, the cop stood there for a few minutes and stared and then said "No we cant do anything." and then left. We found out later the dog died from overheating. It's nice to see cops who actually try for animals.

That's because pit bulls get a bad rap. They're dogs just like any other dog. The breed doesn't make a dog mean or dangerous, how they're raised does. Even mean dogs can usually tell when they're being helped.

I live nearby the arrest in Brevard, Florida. One of the things I love about our Sheriff Wayne Ivey is that he has zero tolerance to animal abuse and posts walk of shame videos for animal abusers.

That’s my kind of man. People that abuse animals are about as low as can be. I hate it when I have to tell my little one she has to stay home because she can’t go in with me. I am very lucky though because here in California there are very few places they refuse to allow your dogs. One time a store told me she had to walk and couldn’t be in the cart so she walked. She’s so small I always worry somebody might step on her by accident.

As you can see in that scene, the cop literally sat on the woman, asserting his superior power over her. He didn't need to emphasize that by shocking her; she couldn't do anything anyway with the heavy cop sitting on her back. She was just all bark and no bite. I think the cop's action was harsh.

Reasons like this is why I’m studying to go into law enforcement. I want to be the officers that save these animals’ lives. The husky one actually made me cry and you could hear the pain in the officer’s voice knowing he was face-to-face with a man that did that to a dog.

I *hate* defending this treatment because I absolutely do not agree with it AT ALL - The only thing I can think of is not every culture values/thinks of pets the way western cultures do. That seems to be changing and that is NOT an excuse - I do think education about laws and proper animal care might make a small difference.
What I struggle with is she obviously cared because there were blankets specifically for the dogs.
The dogs are old so until that unfortunate mistake they looked taken care off, the dogs only stayed in the car for a short time but she underestimated the heat multiplier inside the car, she must feel really sad considering the length of time that dog spent with her, you calling her insane is stupid.
The pig was responsible for that whole thing. He was an ass**** from the start.

That is a feature that is not so existent in Europe. Your chances of suiting a cop, even when the cop is wrong, are virtually nada. And the best part is, these things happen around Europe the same way. Just the US would release it publically, and then the clueless Europeans watch and think this only happens in the US where a lady screams I AM NOT RESISTING while resisting like crazy, when in reality this happens everywhere, all the time, but simply wont get released because there is no use to record it, as you wont win a case whether you are right or wrong.

I'm crying so much over the 13 year old pug. Imagine living such a long life, just to die a brutal death that was completely preventable. The other two dogs will suffer greatly at the loss of their friend as well. I pray this woman served an actual sentence and that the two surviving dogs are in a loving home, together. I also wish the cops had done more. They were just thrown into the back of the car and left to sit in there. The cop didn't even give them water.. he just held the water bottle around and seemingly was just looking at them. That dog could have been saved if someone had stayed with him and given him water and cooled his body down. It just devastates me. I wish I had never seen this :(

sadly you can see when the officer picked the 13yo pug up that he was already stiffening up and heading into seizures. once it gets to that point its usually too late, especially for such an old small dog. the officer poured water around the face and mouth which is what you’re supposed to do. he couldn’t pour water over the actual body bc once the heat has already soaked in like that, it actually just makes it worse.

I like how suddenly the pugs are her babies. If she really saw them as her babies she never would have left them in a hot car. Then refused to get the dogs to the vet when they clearly needed it. I had a little 8 pound chihuahua mix she was my baby I could never have even imagined doing that to her.

Just fyi, to avoid confusion, yes she was booked into a detention center with 3 counts of willful malicious torture of an animal, but that's not the same thing. “Malicious”, in legal terms, means an act is done without just cause or excuse, even if it is not motivated by ill will.
I was blaming leaving the dogs in the car was because she was elderly, she may not understand the situation.
She must have a serious attachment problem if she can't go grocery shopping 25 minutes without her dogs. The way she reacted when told her dogs were taken to the vet was irrational.

From living in Thailand for over two decades. It never surprises me. People can't take care of pets. Dogs. But they have kids. Blows my mind man.
I find it so crazy that people who actually have dogs don’t see them as kids. I have a puppy and I literally treat her like my child. I have friends who don’t see pets as equal or make statements like “it’s just a dog” but those people don’t have pets and I would never leave my pet with them. But to actually have one and not care for it is insane.

I remember my special needs friend, we'll call them Am, who has a service dog that she loves to death. She suffers from severe anxiety and autism. She accidentally locked her dog in the car and started to panic, which caught the attention of a nearby cop. He asked her what happened, and she kept saying, "Dingo trapped! Dingo trapped!" Since when she's stressed, she struggles a lot with speaking. He noticed that she and the dog were in distress, so he called for backup before he broke open the window. Dingo jumped out of the broken window and rushed to Am, who was on the ground while having a meltdown and started comforting her whilst the cop ran to get cool water.
No one was charged since it was an accident, and the car malfunctioned
Edit: No one was harmed either, and the dog is ok. The dog is a German Shepherd and is a very friendly dog.

Our teen son works at Meijer (grocery store) as a cart pusher. He’s called the cops so many times on people who’ve left their dogs in the car that we joke that people probably make sure he’s not working if they bring their dogs along- no matter what the weather is! 😂 He has more empathy and brain power than all of those people put together. I’ll never understand it.
Needed in our culture are animal valets. At a tourist site, crater site in southwest they took really good care of my kitty in an air conditioned room while I went out on site. When I came back for her she was so happy. They had been so kind to her. I paid them well.
Tell him we say thank you and keep up the good work looking out for the animals. They suffer too and so much suffering in the world can be avoided.
Means you're a good parent and taught him some form of it sometime in his life. Wish more parents took that time to teach their kids empathy. Some kids are born with it, but we need more empathetic people now more than ever.

My family has had three dogs over the years. Two of which were severely abused before coming to live with us. Dog one came from a good home so there were no problems. Dogs two and three were severely malnourished and had multiple health issues as a result when we took them home. We learned that dog two was literally thrown in the trash and was found by a city garbage crew. Dog three was likely kept in a small cage (not a small dog) judging by excessive wear on her front teeth, overbred, and tossed out on the street when the previous owners no longer wanted her. All three lived long and happy lives with us.
A guy at work kidnapped his son's dog and brought him to me in the dead of night. The poor Lasa was starved, dirty, and abused. She lived out a happy life but you could not raise your voice around her.

If you see a doggo in distress, it’s your duty to advocate for that dog.
This is why i always carry a window smasher in my backpack (if I leave the house, I have this backpack), you never know when you'll find a kid or dog left in a hot car. Of course, I'll call the cops, but if it looks like there's not enough time, I'll take the repercussions for my actions. Also, you never know if you might be the first on the scene of an accident and need to smash a window to help a person trapped inside.
I've knocked out three windows to rescue 2 dogs and a cat. I took them to a rescue that would make sure they would be given to loving homes. I regret nothing.
