Today we discuss why fifa 23 is the worst fifa we've ever seen. Not only is the content some of the worst we've ever seen, even with the world cup being out, but the gameplay has never been worse. Horrible attacking AI, RNG imbedded into the game, horrible connections, the ball phasing through players, and more has been rampant this year. I'm not sure why FIFA has taken such a big step back, especially when FIFA 17 was the best FIFA we've seen, but something needs to be done and hopefully we'll see it when other games start coming out.

This game just makes me so upset.Its genuinely just depressing. Every single game. Even when u win it still feels like a loss.
I've gone 3-0 down by halftime. And then in the 2nd half, the opposition players were suddenly so slow, weak and made terrible passes that I managed to claw back a 3-3 draw. It felt like I was playing with the guy's little sister or something in the 2nd half. That draw felt so undeserved because I knew it was all scripting, eventhough I got the good end of it.

It is the same for FIFA MOBILE 22, I slide and tackle my enemy but the ball always goes to the enemy player again, if the mechanics is like this from the start then they should remove tackling because it is so useless

This year i switched to eFootball 2023. One of the best things i've ever done in my life. Fifa is not a football game. It's a random rage inducing running simulator, with a ball and a mix of street football and pinball gameplay.
I never thought a game would have me raging then again I had never played FIFA online until recently

I'd back this up recommending any game whether its Overwatch 2, Formula 1 the game or even a story mode like RDR2.
FIFA 23 and few years now literally has zero skill gap and is insanely assisted
When you see the ball going through a player's foot or a gk hand you understand that something is really wrong with this game. Since they introduced the Frostbite engine, there is no physics at all in the game. The rebounds are fixed. You hardly see any loose ball after a rebound. Rebounds always go straight to a player ( most of the time to the players of one team ) God knows which strange formula they use. Not to mention the "momentums" when your players stop responding, running, and turning and they can´t even pass the ball, while your rival´s players seem to have 99 in all their stats.
Complete opposite of eShitball 2023 for the rebounds, each of them is for the opponent. The "momentum" is far worse on eF2023 too: goals are always scored at the start and the end of every half. Plus it's just an online game so far and basically every team is made of Neuer or Kahn goalkeeping, then Alexander Arnold, Joao Cancelo, Alaba, Van Dijk, and then ALWAYS Messi, Mbappe, Haaland or Lewandowski. Every fucking team.
Your shots also hit the bar an unusual amount of times. Why is a striker with accuracy as high as 75 rattling the post up to 3 times in a game?

EA seemingly enjoyed their greediness since 2014 to 2024.
The gameplay is so unbelievable bad. Its way too fast and when you have the ball it feels like the sliders are up to about 80 but when you don't your players take like 5 seconds to actually start running its an absolute joke
Lately that I've been playing against the ai on squad battles it feels as if the game is on fast forward or something, they're moving so ridiculously fast and yet my players aren't.

Spot on...I watched a video of fifa Street 4 yesterday and then a futsal game of fifa 2023 and the difference in how much more smoother and realistic the game is in Fifa street 4 is astounding. To make matters worse Fifa street 4 was released 10 years ago. How is this possible?

I just played a game. My player got pulled down in the box. Then slide tackled. Nowhere near the ball. No penalty. Opponent runs up the field and scores. Worst thing I’ve ever seen. Don’t get me started on player lock on
I just played a game where I got scored on because I had 2 players in position to block a shot. They both moved out of the way and the player shot through the part in between them. I literally don’t know what I’m doing in FIFA anymore. I wanna a meeting with all the people involved with making this game.
The passes in this game is so delayed. Players take way too many unneccesary steps or touches eventhough I've already pressed pass. And what made it worse is that whenever your player has the ball, the teammates will purposely run behind the opposition players. So what happens is you got the ball, saw a player in free space, and you press pass. While your player takes his sweet time doing little steps before passing, the player that you wanted to pass to then runs and stands behind an opposition player. Ball intercepted.
Just Uninstalled it after installing it 20 minutes ago...had to come to yt to make sure I wasn't the only one experiencing everything you wrote in your comment smh EA is trash

Its the exact moment u press x when they start running behind the enemy and the player with the ball makes tiny steps and/or waits to the exact moment where the opponent is in position to intercept 😂
The worst part is they will refuse to make run into space or make any attacking runs
They position so badly until the opponent recovers and cover the space
Passing is so delayed that you can’t exploit the opponent press even when you see the space
Your players will intentionally play a wrong pass to a marked teammate and they won’t challenge for lose balls they just drop back
They don’t release a through pass until the attacker is offside.
Your defender will intentionally move away to create space for the opponent attacker to dash in and they never catch up when it’s a side by side race
You can’t dribble your opponent goal keeper and the opponent beats your keeper to the ball most times
Every second balls go to the opponent, your players watch balls roll past them don won’t intercept even when you’re well positioned
I can keep going….

Its so frustrating, feels like my players have 50lb weights on their legs, they are slow and unresponsive. They don't make smart runs, passes are slow, players touches are horrible.

I had the 10 hour free trial with gamepass. After 3 games, I uninstalled it. The last good Fifa I played was Fifa 13 or 14

Players not staying in position is the biggest f u ea gave this year fullbacks on stay back and very wide but they think ; lets play as a cb and leave the attacking winger completely open ... My wingers are on stay wide dont come back on defense ... And they will drift to the midfield or striker position very often
Funny enough, sometimes I just know that my opponent next attack is gonna be a goal NO MATTER what I do, from the stupid thinks that happen in the midfield. And I never missed in that, I actually started to give up the defending whenever I see it coming just to not frustrate myself

In those games if you made a side-footed, off balanced pass under pressure the result was a turnover 99% of the time. Now it’s like 50/50. And the worst part about that is neither the offending or defending player knows what’s going to happen. It’s whatever EA decides.
So there’s no real mastery of the game from a thumb skill standpoint. Just whoever plays the game enough to recognize these little “decisions” the game is going to make.

Atleast FIFA doesn't allow a defender to pressure you more than you can with the AI. This what happens in efootball. Like literally when a defender pressures to steal the ball but when you do the same with the AI you wouldn't even force the Ai to pass the ball but outruns you when literally the physical stats of a forward is far weaker than a defender. Like fam I can use mbappe and Ramos catch up to me in speed

That's literally what they did. No more Fifa for me till they move on from the frostbite engine and focus on the current gen consoles only.
It really is a pile of shit, I got all the way to elite division and found myself sighing even when I won. I've deleted it now, it is not an enjoyable game at all, its made to frustrate you. Everything you've shown in the video is only 10% of the bullshit that goes down. Whoever designed the game this way honestly needs shooting, making money purposely frustrating people. Losing fairly is fine, but you can't control 11 players at once it's not humanly possible. The switching makes sure of it too. So when your AI literally act like cardboard cutouts as your opponents effortlessly glide past you no matter how well positioned you are, rage is definately following. It's so fixed, whoever has the ball just before half time and the end of the game 9/10 they will score no matter what you do.
I wish we knew who are devs and pms. To avoid future games these companies do. And it’s not only EA. They outsource the development

1-scripting 2- tackle goes back to the foot of the opponent 3- hitting the post like 5x times 4-defenders mistake that should not happen.

The worst part is, if you play on career mode there will be times where your opponent just want to destroy you by injuring your whole team, you lost both the match and usually 4 - 5 players are out for a week or a month, 1 whole season if your player has injury prone trait

Definitely the worst fifa ever made, ive been playing the game since 06 and used to be a master of the from defending to attacking… knowing how to perform all the skill moves by heart… but with this edition i feel like ive never held a controller before its disgusting

Your midfielders literally do not participate on defense they are traffic cones.
Every online game ends with atleast 4 goals scored.
The onball movement feels amazing and the shots have felt the best out of every fifa.

If you haven’t realized the game got so low in reviews they took the audience rating off of google. It’s arguable the worst fifa ever. They also don’t care… every 2 weeks they release a new promo. Though I’m still waiting for my OTW upgrades for two weeks now. They still haven’t put nunez, or rafels face scans… it’s been two months. They took away not. Forest stadium is just a floating grass pitch with nothing else. The game play speaks for its self.

Players feel like they're running in porridge, corners are so ineffective you might as well just play them short, 1v1s are broken, long shots are dead. It seems like every year somethings either too Op or not effective at all

That happened to me except I tied which ended up 3-3. My opponent literally scored at the last minute which made the game think that I lost. This game is just pure scripting
all of does issues, the thing that bothers me the most is the way players move like the way they move in their places, those little feet movements make the players look like they are glitching or something, pes doesn't have this problem, the players move on the pitch like they are skying, that take the realism of the game
I played fifa for the last 15 years. And last 4-5 fifas I’ve started limiting how much I play, to some point not playing it for months, because literally of my mental state. I’ve played soccer my whole life, I’ve played it at a highly competitive collegiate level. I understand the game. I know what I want to do and how I want to play fifa. But some of the things I’ve seen over the years with the gameplay and how Ive lost games, has left me speechless. It’s blatantly obvious how much scripting there is in this game and it’s all become a money grab. They want to attract a new crowd of consumers so they make it fair as opposed to the better player winning without obvious and ridiculous scripting. The mistakes. The bizarre passing, where players look of balance trying to compete a 10 yard pass which is the most insane shit I’ve ever seen. Literally almost falling over trying to make passes. Defenders making unbelievable mistakes, the ping pong deflecting when defending. Its absurd what has become of fifa.

The fifa I had was 20 and absolutely hated about the defensive AI, ex. how the cms/cdms always refuse to get behind the ball for instance. Just bought 23 for half off hoping that they had fixed a lot of the problems but somehow they got even worse idek. you forgot to mention the fact that the only way you can win or excel in this game is if you have better cards than your opponents.
should have mentioned the fact that the skills are too overpowered, if you play someone that knows how to do 4/5 star skills, it's so difficult to tackle them, it's so unrealistic, not saying some players in real life can't do skills, they can but once in a while does it actually work, on fifa you can't do anything to them, makes the game so infuriating

You are sooo on point bro, I fking hate this game, no logic at all especially passing and defending. My player with 85 passing rate misses 7 out of 10. Triangle does not work. Even I hard pass the button it goes 2-3 meters far (ridiculous). I got so mad, that was about to break my screen and new ps5 joystick. This game does not deserve our time. EA sucks.

It's very frustrating you're trying to pass to a player and they pass on the wrong direction. You are trying to pick a defender it picks the wrong one and makes a gap in your defence it's really irritating the only way to make this game playable is to have a neural interphase so you can control the game with your mind it's truly the only way.

Every goal is the same. This game is pish.
I mean it does suck. The problem is EA needed to use a bunch of tricks to make the game more difficult but unfortunately they choose anti-football techniques like making the ball bounce straight back to the opponent. They probably have some code that decides which side the ball goes back to. In human against human the chance is probably 50/50 but because there's a decision being made about making the ball bounce towards a player on one side or the other it often looks unnatural. In real life sometimes the ball bounces to no-one and players have to run and get the ball. Maybe EA decided the ball should always bounce towards an opponent to keep the game flowing but it looks crap.
However it's much worse in games with CPU opponents like career mode because it seems on higher difficulties EA uses this trick to increase the chance of the ball bouncing back to the CPU. If it's not 100% chance then it's 80% chance or something. This is a cynical anti-football decision by EA. It's no different to increasing the size of your goal so the CPU can score more easily.
Anyway there's a whole bunch of tricks like this that EA use and the more I notice these tricks the less fun FIFA has become. I suspect that the developers for this year's FIFA were told to increase the difficulty because career mode on legendary has got significantly harder - unfortunately what they have done is ramp up the effect of the tricks they use and it's made the game feel less natural. I've more or less stopped playing it now. I have been doing one career mode each year for the last few years and normally play a few seasons but for the first time this year I have just abandoned it half way through the first season.
Unless you play against paypal account , then guess where ball goes 99% of the time.

The game is shit . It’s paid to win . He best cards are broken , they score every shot , win every tackle . It’s embarrassing. The scripting in a joke . It kicks in if you are dominant or on a roll .
Even with MF Mbappe up front for me I still get smoked by P2W merchants… like my team is all untradable for the most part and it’s solid across every position but this years BS factor is off the scale. Low key I used to be an elite division player and division one in every game mode.
I agree I feel like the players are being stupid when I’m playing the in game mechanics are horrendous also I feel like all the World Cup icon cards are just too meta to stop them

I noticed in all the fifa titles, whenever a I and CPU run towards a free ball, my default counter is defense rather offence.
All through balls are actually passes to opponent CPU player.
Every ball bounced off a player's body ends up with opponent CPU.
This game has changed into a card collector💀🤦
I’ve been playing FIFA since the 2000’s, since PS1 days. And I gotta say this is the worst FIFA ever, I can’t believe that 4 generations ago FIFA’s were way better than this crap.

It's an awful game and the bugs are so obvious. It changes your players positions whenever it feels like it and they haven't even tried to hide the blatant scripting this year. I've played 3.8 hours and I'm currently trying to get a refund via Steam. Like I've done in the past, I've reminded Steam not to try the old "you have played over 2 hours so we can't refund you" excuse because that's illegal under UK Distance Selling Regulation Law.

Fifa 23 is so bad. I play offline only and its so bad. The AI makes goals you cant do anything about bc the game is developed so poorly.. they focus on the money only which is ultimate team...
Wish I had seen this before I bought FIFA 23 on Steam. This game is so garbage I uninstalled it and hid it in my gameslist.
The thing that's most infuriating for me is how the profile saves on PC never stick.
That doesn't even acknowledge the issue there is with the fact that it doesn't load your profile right if you have a controller connected, forcing you to find some workaround nonsense (go to profile managing, delete and then back to the main menu...otherwise you can't even see your franchise to load). Then, even when I do load it, my sliders have reset to all 50's again, which I've already reset about 20 times now in a month.
And like you mentioned, player switching and positioning is abysmal. Players constantly run to their "position" that they are supposed to be at, regardless of the situation on the pitch. If my CB misses a tackle, my LB will be running AWAY from the forward coming down the middle with the ball towards the LB's position, despite no player being there, and the main threat being the player in the middle who I then can't catch up to, because the AI ran away from them.
I think at this point, I'm just canceling my EA game pass and uninstalling the game. I can't keep resetting my sliders every day just to enjoy the damn game. I've never had this many issues just playing the game.
