V8 and a 4-barrel carburetor allowing for all the power you need. In 1967, the muscle car horsepower wars among the American manufacturers was just starting to heat up. As a consequence, optional increases in engine size were found up and down each manufacturer's model lineups. For instance, Ford's midsize offering, the Fairlane, was offered with an optional 390 C.I. V8 putting out much more power than the base model's inline-six cylinder engine.
