    As fall is coming close, I decided to celebrate by making some apple crumble bars. These take a classic apple crumble and transform them into these delicious bars. They consist of a cinnamon crumble crust, with an apple filling spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, and on top is more of that delicious crumble crust! They are then baked until golden brown. With a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream… I mean seriously, I’m drooling just thinking about it!

    ⭐️•Makes About 9-12 Bars•⭐️



    🍪•Crumb Crust•🍪
    ➡️ 1 1/2 Cups Of Flour
    ➡️ 1/3 Cup Of Sugar
    ➡️ 3/4 Teaspoon Of Salt
    ➡️ 3/4 Cup Of Softened Butter
    ➡️ 3 Tablespoons Of Cornstarch
    ➡️ 2 Teaspoons Of Cinnamon
    🍎•Apple Filling•🍎
    ➡️ 3 - 4 Chopped Apples
    ➡️ 1 1/2 Tablespoons Of Lemon Juice
    ➡️ 2 Tablespoons Of Cornstarch
    ➡️ 1/4 Cup Of Sugar
    ➡️ 1 1/2 Teaspoons Of Cinnamon
    ➡️ 1/4 Teaspoon Of Cloves
    ➡️ 1/4 Teaspoon Of Nutmeg
    ➡️ 2 Teaspoons Of Vanilla Extract



    1️⃣. Begin by making the crumble crust. Combine the butter, flour, sugar, cornstarch, salt and cinnamon in a bowl, then mix until crumbly.
    2️⃣. Press 2/3 of the crumble into a parchment lined deep dish pan and set this aside.
    3️⃣. To make the filling, first wash, peel, and chop your apples, then add lemon juice, cornstarch, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Mix until incorporated.
    4️⃣. Put the apples on top of the crust, then sprinkle on the remaining 1/3 of the crumble mixture on top of the apples.
    5️⃣. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (180 Celsius) for 55-60 minutes until golden and delicious! Your kitchen will smell really good!
    6️⃣. Allow these to cool fully, then cut into squares. Now is the best part… we can eat these now!

    🍽•Extra Tips & Advice•🍽
    ➡️ You can also make the crust using a food processor.
    ➡️ This can also work with other stone fruits such as peaches, pears, and even berries as well!
    ➡️ A little fresh ginger in the apple filling will really bring in some great flavour!
    ➡️ If you like really soft baked apples, then I would recommend cooking the apples for about 10 minutes before putting them on top of the crust.
    ➡️ Be sure to have parchment flaps on the sides of the pan to ensure easy release.
