Gail & Alex- When you are mud larking, carry a small gold pan with you. If you find a piece of jewelry pan the dirt in the immediate area down 2-3" and you may find the stones from the piece.
Excellent advice, F.K. Burnham. ( : By panning, they could also capture other heavies such as gold, silver, etc. Where there's one heavy, there's more.
Exceptional idea!!!
You guys deserve all the admiration you receive and more. You take us on a journey, raise up are spirits and make us laugh.
I live vicariously through you guys! I love traveling without leaving my house!
We love you coming along with us! xx
Thank you lovely ladies , what a fab start to 2023. Here’s to a new year of bucket list finds.❤
Great video guys very dark finish very nice finds
Hope you have good hunting this year ...
Your home must be wall to wall relics..
I had a friend who spent every free moment hunting U.S. civil war relics.
His home was like a museum.
I have a hunch your home is similar ...
Happy hunting ladies.
The slag glass would be beautiful in the window. I'm so glad you brought it home.
Belated best wishes for 2023. Look forward to all your magical finds! I just know you will do well. Also the very best of health to you both. Keep loving!
love the bird fragment
think you should start the new year's window with o few of the beautiful beads from today
Happy New Year. That tiny bottle would be good for the window.
I want to go visit just to dig in the dirt. Id be in heaven if i could.
Wonderful finds ladies!! Great start to the New year!!
What are the clear blue glass thing on the table. It's very pretty 😍

Good luck for 2023. I hope you continue to grow and grow. And lots of lovely historic finds ❤ 💕 😊
Can't but think that the little terracotta jug wants to be a chicken 🤔
What a great start to another year of mudlarking ! I think you're going to have a very memorable year !!
The little Dutch girl is so pretty, she gets my vote for the windowsill of wonders this week, as well as the cricket buckle. Great start to the new year ladies. Greetings and best wishes to you both Gail and Alex for the year to come. The beads were very plentiful and lovely, as were the Codd marbles. How nice of Alan to gift you with the fid & the doll's arm. Hello from North Carolina!
@marilyndreamwalkermejorado1208 New Bern, NC here, hiya neighbor 😀 😊
Happy New Year Gail and Alex. You both are so vastly talented and it is a joy to see what you find. And I especially love when you make the little glass bottles made from Victorian glass of all different colours. And your great knowledge of relics you discover from so long ago. Thank you so much both of you. 🥰🥰😻😺 The tiny silver button, tiny poison bottles collection and beads are adorable.
HAPPY NEW YEAR NORTHERN MUDLARKS! The poison bottle in the window.
Wonderful start to 2023. Happy New Year ladies. The tiny burst lip bottle gets my vote for the window today.
My first thought was a toy lead fire hydrant.
7:41 - a Bodkin, used to make eyelet holes in cloth without cutting threads- you carefully work it through the weave, spreading the threads, then do a buttonhole stitch to finish the eyelet. The result is stronger because the threads are intact.
Love your finds. Wheel & whistle
Beautiful items discovered in today's video, beautiful scenery, photos and music xx looking forward to your next video already!! xxoo
Hi, and welcome back, hope you had a beautiful Christmas break and wishing you an interesting and happy 2023. Take care and have a great week. xx
It’s so good to see you again after the holiday season, I’ve missed you, may all your larks be happy in 2023 x
The United Clasp on the window of Wonders or the small Terracotta jar 😊😊
Always am looking forward to Sunday & your videos. Hope 2023 is 365 times better than 2022!
I think the tinest burst lip bottle would be a great start to the window of wonders. Happy and healthy 2023!
Welcome 2023. So happy to see you back.💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you for inspiring me to start a new hobby which then helped build a little business from it. You're true inspirations xxx
Happy New Year!!! Love the tiny bottle and all the beads!!
Lovely finds. I think the smallest bottle is for the window of wonders.
I vote for the sewing tool for the window! Just wonderful...You two lift my spirits and I look forward to Every Single Video! With love and wishes for a happy new year.
Thanks for the nice video's they give me calm
The rifle is for shooting around corners.
Great video! 🎉 The slag glass should go in the window. I cried when you left the half bottle stopper. They’re perfect to turn into refrigerator magnets 😢 😱. Great day & night out. Half pipes can be secured down on wood as flowers & painted. JM CRAFTING Idea. ♥️ 🌹
Keep Rocking 🤙 the good stuff👍 Beautiful people🤗

I love the dollies and the lamb n the whistle and the beads and how many times the word bottle is used...Gail is a hoot..I'm not taking any bottles... I love bottles..I'm taking it.
Makes me giggle everytime 😂
Happy New Year Gail and Alex 2023 . My vote for window sill is the little Dutch girl. Joyce USA🇺🇸❤️🙏
The pointed bone item is an antique sewing bodkin.
Your treasure hunting is wonderful! We just don't have the same historical items where we live...I LOVE when you show your research & give the history of the item. Just marvelous!
That looked a cold day, G&A. We really do appreciate you and all the mudlarks for braving this weather. Wishing you all the best for 2023. :)
Happy New Year Ladies🎉. Please consider another hiding of treasure in the Borders🥰. Great fun even if it’s already found. ❤️❤️👌🏻
So happy you got your channel back! Great video love all the great finds.
Happy new year girls from your fellow Liverpudlian Mersey mud lark! Good hunting for 2023 can’t wait to see what you’ll make from this year’s finds on your crafting channel!
I live in Florida and I want to watch their crafting channel. Is there a way I can.
It’s called Northern mudlarks Make!
Happy New Year. It would be pretty easy to repair the tiny jug. Just make a tiny funnel so you could shape the top part. Then just use some tools to put your design on. But you don't need me to tell you how you already know. pretty good finds.
Yay! I’m first!!❤
Me encantan sus. Ideos desde Barcelona Catalunya
Could that first mystery item be a valve from a bulb atomizer?
Thank you Gail and Alex…i love your videos, so sublime and restful and at the end the table of goodies, yay …for this one all your items are fantastic…anyone would look good in the window…btw it so cute to hear Alex in the background sometimes when you are filming faraway from each other…she has a sweet voice…reminds me of a British actress of the 60’s! 😊😊have a grand new year! 🌹
What a wonderful selection of finds! The bone/ivory bead is very interesting, I haven't seen one like that before. My favourite has to be the Soldier with the bent gun, funny yet poignant. 😁💗 x
Great start for the New Year 2023!! So enjoy your videos! Thank you❤️
What a great first treasure hunt for 2023! I think the teeny tiny bottle Gail found should have a place of honor in the window of wonders! The white lid would make a great mushroom top! Thanks for sharing y’all’s joy with us!
Though I loved Gail's tiny bottle, when I displayed a rather rare military style button made of black glass or obsidian, on my windowsill, the intensity of the sun through the window caused pieces to chip off (as with my enamelware while it was hanging above my kitchen stove). Though the climate and is different there, I never display any fragile items on the windowsill or near a hot stove since then.
Yet another outstanding video ladies. Wonderful treasures and a great start to a new year.
There's all kinds of objects worthy of the window, but I would like to nominate the blue cut glass bead. 'Who would these fardels bear, when he himself might his quietus make with a bare bodkin?'. May you remain fardel free, and everyone else for that matter.
Hoping you both have a wonderful New Year with many blessings! So many beautiful finds
Awesome start to the new year and a new bead string? Well done guys amazing finds. Take care and thank you for sharing 👍🙏❤️
You have some really nice finds ♥️♥️♥️👍❤️🗝️
Great finds Ladies
oh, the tiniest bottle for the window!!!!
Those little toy related finds are brilliant! The blue in that marble is incredible too! Too much to comment on as usual 😂 If that whistle tip does work, you could splice it onto a clay pipe 🤔
So happy to see your start in the new year! I think my favorite for the window of wonders is the tiny burst lip bottle...such a gem!
The ziggy button would look beautiful in the window xx
Welcome to 2023 Gail & Alex. Looks like you've both made a good start to it
Happy new year! Re: Glass bottle stoppers. If it isn't a nightmare to cut the long nubbin off, the tops could be set together into a pane by foiling the edges to solder them together. The little space between 4 circles could fit the cut off nubbin for an interesting surface texture. Or, I should not watch you late at night. :)
Lol
What a great start to the year. Amazing finds! Here's to many more. Happy New Year both xx
It's good to see you back, Happy New Year. You are my favorite YT channel. Looking forward to watching many more of your mudlarking videos of 2023♥️
The tiny burslip bottle is my vote for the first 2023 Window of Wonders display. Such lovely finds for first trip of the new year. The beads are my other favs, especially the small (possible ?) bone carved one and the opalescent bigger bead. Fun!
Your video's recently showed up in my feed and I love the calm vibe and enthousiasm when you find something. Have a great year!
Thanks for the new adventure. It was a joy to watch as usual. Loved the tiny bottle and the United Clasp badge. Fascinating.
So happy to see you 😊
Thanks 🙏👍
The black slag glass looked like liquorice - good enough to eat. 😉😋
A wonderful fun hunt, thank you for taking us along with you. It looks like 2023 is going to be full of surprises. Wishing Alex and Gail a fun 2023. I would like the 'Tiny Bottle' in your special window.
So many wonderful finds. Just love that you take us with you.
Love the glass marble filled with a blue glass swirl. Gorgeous. Happy mudlarking in the new year!
Sounds like a pub, 'The Wheel and Whistle'!
would be a great color for Alex's home made beads
Happy New Year ladies! I love all the finds and the music playing in the back ground. Cait wait to see y'all's bucket list for this year. Have a blessed evening and take care.
Happy New Year to both of you. Finding you, Nicola, Dirty Secrets of Scotland, She Walks She Paints saved my sanity over 2 years of Covid isolation. Mudlarking is lovely and so are you!
Thanks so much for the entertainment your channel has provided me through the winter while I wait to return to work in the spring. The bittle lottle... oops, i mean little bottle 🤭should definitely stand proud in the window of wonders.
Some wonderful finds. I used one of those bodkins when I used to make rag strip rugs (we called the strips 'lists') in the 1950s with my grandma in Dewsbury. We cut old coats into strips and pushed them through a hole made by the bodkin in the hessian material. The rugs were very hard wearing.
Wow, what a great start to the new year!!! The beads were all so pretty!!
Happy holidays ladies.i love your program.I watch all.of your videos Love from Georgia USA
I love the music you play! So relaxing to watch you find wonderful things ✨️ best of luck to you both in this new year 😀 😊 I'll keep watching
Thank you xx
Happy New Year! Looking forward to all the fun your larking uncovers!
What a great start for 2023.
I think the mother of peral with the holes around the edge was a button that would have been set with little rhinestones.
Love to you both from Seattle.
The picture of this video is exceptionally clear!!! Love your mudlarking videos!,
wow beautiful Jar
Love it when you go to this place. Thank you for all your hard work and braving the cold.
Finally, you have released your first for 2023. Been watching past videos to make sure I didn't miss any of your adventures. Happy 2023, Gail and Alex! I wish you all the best this year, including great finds like a hoard of gold or something as big
What did they use iodine poison for? Thanks!
