    At last he's singing more Wagner I sense he's going to be the next great Helden-baritone. It sits perfectly in his voice, the right color, weight, heft and temperament,,,, this is his stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for this marvelous post!!!!! GREAT!!!

    He reminds me so much of the great Friedrich Schorr. His timbre and colour of voice are so similar to Schorr's...
    And he masters the same technique of phrasing the great Wagner parts to make them sound authentic.

    Imagine Gilbert's verve in the Bayreuth orchestra pit. That would be an experience for us Wagner freaks :-)
