A good tip for booking shows is, when/if you're waiting to board early, you'll probably be close enough to the ship to log into the wifi, this will allow you to book shows and stuff before you even get on board.
Don't forget, on transatlantic cruises, it means the staff don't get the one day off a week they're entitled to because they have to work ALL sea days and their usual rest times aswell as sleep are while the ship is docked.... I've worked on RCCL and transatlantic means NO days off essentially 🤷🏻♀️ It's hard to feel smiley and motivated with that inind and working well over 12hr shifts most days

Luckily, my parents took your words of wisdom 😜and we had left a day early! We were able to get to our ship on time!

I have found RCL has been very disappointing on much of what they have offered. The food has been a severe let down and now seeing what the additional paid dining was like this is yet another disappointment. Thank you for being so real in your evaluation. I look forward to the next video.
It’s sad how many cuts cruise lines have made and prices are higher than ever. Twice a day room cleaning was something I really loved. There’s nothing like coming back to your room after a night out and the lights are soft, the bed is inviting. I guess we should be glad we get any room cleaning daily as hotels on land have even made cuts to that these days.

Been on many cruise lines and have to say that RC was the worst for high charges , plus we paid gratuities in advance and still they never stopped asking for more with envelopes on the bed and the food was terrible , we went on an old PO ship and the food in the main restaurant was outstanding and pricing was good too ! love your videos!! xx
Did this cruise last May. So many people! Our first cruise since Covid. We were not prepared. Bar in Central Park was highlight. Never crowded most of day, the adjacent cafe good for small bites and tea.
I never pay for the specialty restaurants because I'm always happy with the dining room food. I would not be happy to have the experience you had at the Italian restaurant if I paid extra for it! I don't mind them stopping the turndown service, it didn't make sense to me even back in the 70's. I asked my parents why we couldn't just fold down the sheets ourselves.😂But you're right-I'm sure it means the lines will employ fewer cabin stewards and they'll each be responsible for more cabins.
I have a feeling that cruise lines will only clean your stateroom once per cruise, like hotels will only clean your rooms once per stay or once per week.
Great video! We just sailed on the Symphony of this Seas this past February and it was our first Royal Caribbean Cruise. We loved it and actually now have Icon booked for next February. Sorry to hear about a bit of a rough start - especially less than stellar meal at Jamie's ... that was one of our favorites and maybe just an off night/first day issues? We did have the ultimate dining package and though not every meal was amazing overall we found the variety and quality of the food and of the service to be quite good (we've sailed Disney and Viking prior to this cruise). Looking forward to more!

Diamond plus members here... We encounter miserable staff recently on RCCL on AOS we were told by a number of staff that the bean counters have done their worst to cut staff and expect more from the fewer staff they have. The food standards have dropped so low we've decided no more and after 30 plus cruises with RCCL we are booking NO MORE and have moved elsewhere. Enjoy yr vlogs guys keep up exposing BAD standards its critical nobody wastes their hard earned cash.
The cruise line should reduce the salaries of the corporate officers instead of reducing staff levels. Corporate officers definitely do not deserve the salaries they get. They do not even work that hard and only work regular office hours if they work at all. On the other hand reducing staffing level’s definitely causes morale issues, increased stress and way overworked employees with very low salaries. The Corporate officers probably never even worked on a ship. They should trade places with the workers on a ship to see the amount of work that the employees actually do.

Tannoy = Intercom for those of us in the States. 😂 Symphony is our favorite Royal Caribbean ship so far. Hero was amazing. Wonder if the prospect of all the extra work that comes with a sea day dampened some of the crew spirits.
Great video as always. Too bad about dinner. I think some of the cruise lines are understaffed and have to train new crew members which dampens the experience for passengers.

Love crusing and love your videos never did a Transatlantic cruise, just got off a cruise to bermuda from new york which was cold when your used to florida weather, the sea was very rough first day was funny to see barf bags taped to stair railings for people who were sea sick

I’m wondering if you’ll still be “loyal to Royal “after this one especially after being on Disney and celebrity and virgin and even Norwegian. So much better than Royal Caribbean these days.

I’m on the Harmony right now. Boarded just yesterday in Miami. Boarding was fast and seamless for some reason. That was pretty amazing. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with the new MDR menu. The Windjammer is every bit as woeful, unfortunately. Nevertheless, have a wonderful time you guys. Sure wish I could have met you at the port of Miami.

I rarely complain about my accommodations, meals or service but, I would complain about a smell. Poop odor in the hall and in your cabin says something is wrong and needs to be addressed ASAP. Plumbing issues don't typically get better over time.

Hey Ben and David. Symphony I heard will eventually be leaving from Cape Liberty NJ and we’re in NY. Will be on the Oasis this August. The Symphony when it comes will be next. Agreed. Get that muster done immediately to avoid delays. Love their app reserving shows. Nice perks especially 4 drinks a day. Always have vaccination info with us. We fly the day before too and my husband left his white night linen suit in the hotel closet 🫤. They kept it safely til we returned as we were staying there for 2 nights on return. Omg. We got the 3-dining package for the Oasis this August. Dry carbonara? Oh no. And s speciality restaurant? When lettuce 🥬 is whole like that , I often wondered is it washed properly 🤔. We had that poop smell in our cabin on Adventure last fall, it came out of our sink only on port days. Must be something that happens to the sewage system as the ships get older.

We loved the guitar player in central park on the Oasis. Great way to end the evening.
With such a large ship and capacity doing it yourself via an app or tv is much easier for the cruise line to keep track.

The reason for the long line was people didn't have their COVID tests they needed for a TA cruise.
I’m so jealous. 12 days on a ship would feel like heaven to me. My wife would never go for that long. She maxes out at a week.

I rarely complain about my accommodations, meals or service but, I would complain about a smell. Poop odor in the hall and in your cabin says something is wrong and needs to be addressed ASAP. Plumbing issues don't typically get better over time.

I really want to go on one of bigger ships but if the staff is overworked and the service is bad I don’t think I want to try it out. Also the food quality sounds kind of sad. If the specialty restaurant did not make things awesome for you guys……… what are the rest of going to get! Ohhh lort……. and the poo smell deck! I so appreciate your honesty and thorough review of everything!

Hey Ben and David. Symphony I heard will eventually be leaving from Cape Liberty NJ and we’re in NY. Will be on the Oasis this August. The Symphony when it comes will be next. Agreed. Get that muster done immediately to avoid delays. Love their app reserving shows. Nice perks especially 4 drinks a day. Always have vaccination info with us. We fly the day before too and my husband left his white night linen suit in the hotel closet 🫤. They kept it safely til we returned as we were staying there for 2 nights on return. Omg. We got the 3-dining package for the Oasis this August. Dry carbonara? Oh no. And s speciality restaurant? When lettuce 🥬 is whole like that , I often wondered is it washed properly 🤔. The room is lovely. Nice color scheme. Yes. 1 service a day. Thanks for sharing guys. See you next video. Have a great week.

We had that poop smell in our cabin on Adventure last fall, it came out of our sink only on port days. Must be something that happens to the sewage system as the ships get older.
