Growing up, my family went on a camping trip every summer to eastern WA. We drove out on hwy 2 and stopped in Leavenworth to stretch our legs. We often stopped at the starbucks to use the bathroom.
Boy, you guys can’t catch a break with the heat and electrical issues!!! 🤯 Hope things change for the better soon! Leavenworth looks like a fun town to visit. Looking forward to seeing more from there. 🙂
We've stayed at the Alpine several times it's a beautiful campsite and yeah lots of road noise usually we just walk into Leavenworth but I see you guys are smart and took the truck did you manage to find the dog house Brewery it's kind of a cute little place
Sure glad I have a 10,000 W generator onboard my coach. I just have to make sure I have enough diesel when I park. I just turn on all 3 air conditioners.
We actually have a generator and it can run our A/C but we don't like using it. We will if we are boondocking and it gets too hot but since we were paying for power in Spokane there was no way we'd use it there (unless we couldn't go someplace else). One big thing is we cannot just leave the dogs in the Airstream with the A/C&generator running. So we try to book full hookups when we know it is going to be too hot.
I knew one campground owner who keep spare breakers on hand. He said he can swap out a bad one in 10 mins or less. He would do it without turning off the power because people got upset when they cut off power to a section to replace it, not me.
It went great, thanks for asking! We were even offered another one but the timing wasn't going to work for it. So we'll see what happens in the future.
Steve you make me laugh. My son lives in our condo in Seattle-no central ac but a beautiful rooftop deck overlooking the bay and Sculpture garden. He complains that it is hot all summer too. He does have 2 portable AC units-one in the living room and one in the bedroom and where he works has ac. I laugh. We live in Maryland. Yes we have ac but it is 91 with 95% humidity all day, then at night the bugs come out including the biting gnats. We will have to get out to Leavenworth sometime-since my husband is 3/4 German.
Humid heat is very different that's for sure. Steve lived in VA for a while and Courtney in DC we know what a sweltering summer is like. Yikes! You should definitely try to get to Leavenworth at some point. It's a lot of fun!
On your next Q and A could you tell us anything that wasn’t worth the money for campering ? Not stuff you didn’t need I mean stuff that wasn’t worth the money. Thanks !
The dogs were where-ever we were during the hot parts of the day. Even with A/C we don't trust the power won't go out or breaker flip when we aren't there. So if it's super hot out we stay with them in the Airstream in the A/C.

Yeah somehow when we move with the weather we still bring record heat.
