No, Leavenworth does not do tourism well at all. No, parking, hard to get health care, intrusion into residential neighborhoods, no rentals to be had....they are all short term rentals now. If you find a house, it will be nextdoor to short term rentals on both sides. Traffic is a nightmare EVERY Day. Grocery shopping is limited, shelves are bare most of the time. There are low income jobs but no housing or parking if you take one. It is currently 105• at my leavenworth house in july and the wildfire smoke is rolling in.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I guess I meant Leavenworth attracts a lot of tourism. It's definitely a strain for the locals. I'm about over the weather right now too. Thanks for watching and the comment.
It's like that in all tourist areas in the world. The locals appreciate the tourists because of the business they bring in, but that's where it stops. Good video.
“A vast variety of dining options”, that is not quite accurate. As a local you quickly realize that the only dining options are just focused on pub grub, American cuisine and German cuisine. If you like other options this will be a major disappointment.
Leavenworth? The Navy was always trying to send me there for an Extended period of time when I was in ! Never thought people would Pay to go there….. Oh Washington , not Kansas!!!!
Leavenworth is a horrible tourist trap. Driving through it (only because we have no other choice in the winter) makes me nauseous. The tourists have no idea how to drive or much less how to follow the basic pedestrian rules. Whoever would consider buying there needs there head examined. What a horrible choice

Been here in Ltown for decades now, working locally. The Bavarian theme was needed (in the 60’s)and succeeded now beyond anyone’s expectations! It was a mostly regional fun place to go, but to remote to stay. Now decades later, technology and covid trauma has arrived, bringing in newbies. With money. It is changing the small town it once was. It's a tourist trap. It was charming back in the 70s. Now everything is about wine tasting and beer gardens. I don't consider it family friendly anymore.
I live in Ohio's Amish Country - Sugarcreek is known as Little Switzerland. Tourism is the life bloom for many areas - with all of the Negatives you are listing it's a wonder you can make any sells.
Don't get me wrong I love the area, and I think it's important for people to know what it's like living in an area with a lot of tourism. I personally can't stand sales people that only show the good side of things. Thank you for watching the video and commenting.
Unchecked tourism and the greed of city administrators for 40 years in conjunction with conflicts of interest at all levels ruined this place. Ask me how I know.

Leavenworth used to be a logging, mining, and ranching town. When this started to decline they pimped the place as a "Bavarian" village.
Winthrop did the same, only it has a western theme. Thanks for the comment!
Tourist trap

Housing pricing in Washington state is crazy everywhere!
For sure. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Cons - driving through it. Weekends.
No joke, Thanks for watching and the comment.
Please consider adding "WA" in your title. There are other towns named Leavenworth. I clicked on this thinking it was somewhere else.
Thank you! I have added it :)
Dork.

One area Leavenworth could improve upon is the sidewalks. Maintain them, and provide better access to them for those with disabilities.

Great information. There is something wrong with the volume.
Strange, thanks for letting me know.
I moved here in 1978 when the house was worth around 47,000 - Now it's 450.00 and that's because it's 100 years old
Home prices just keep going up in the area. I bet you have seen a lot of change in the area.
The town only gets super hard to park on holidays like Christmas lighting
I'm not sure I would agree with that, but thanks for the comment.
Why
At least it isn’t a dead town
For sure! Thanks for watching and the comment.
Cominco did this to Kimberley B.C. and we can't get rid of the Bavarian theme fast enough!
I didn't know that. Does the town still have a theme?
Amanda........do a video on Lacey or the Olympia area!
Sounds good! Do you want to collaborate?

Leavenworth sucks. Overpriced and full of tourists. There's a lot better views in much less crowded areas...Leavenworth sucks.
There's some good people watching😉
I disagree. I love the place, but when it comes to parking and waiting long lines in restaurants, yes, both suck.
Solvang is more highly regarded I guess.
I have never been.
Skip this tourist trap and go to Bavaria in Gerrmany.
Well that sounds nice. Thanks for watching.

Washington, never heard of it. Wondered how Kansas looked like the thumbnail.
Thanks for pointing that out. I have changed it.

That's why there's a street sign on the way in where instead of 'city hall', it says rat haus
