I went straight to the berserk-HQ's twitter page and basically asked them 'What is WRONG with them?' Because its true. Im so tired of how all these companies seem to be just SEEEETHING at fans if they dare 'Do' anything more than give them money! SICK OF IT! When they almost always act like we 'Barely even exist' anyway!
its very ironic lol, a book of suffering and then they blue ball us at the end. I at least hope they finish the manga but at the same time all good things must come too an end.
Just like how David Production stepped in to finally give Jojo's Bizarre Adventure a tride and true adaptation when it was deemed borderline impossible, Berserk deserves to be adapted by people who love it and care about making sure its animated *panel-by-panel*
Who ever was in charge of animating Striga's scene in the day armor needs to post a fan-animated scene of berserk. Maybe if people see how amazing it could be, it'll get enough hype to convince the studio to pick it up
I think berserk not getting an proper anime adaptation Is one of the greatest failures of copyright law. On top of copyright law itself being a immoral is there a definitely buy now would have had a proper anime adaptation because the people that are passionate and talented enough to do it would have already done it because they wouldn't have to be afraid of legal threats preventing them from doing so.
So if you create something can someone just take it and make their own version of it without you earning anything from it or getting any credit for the original idea? Copyright law isn’t evil. 🤦♂️ Like any law, it can be bent to be used for negative intent. 🤦♂️
@@GBNationalistthe thing is people know who made the original work, so your derivative work is compared against that or is an obvious copy/paste and that's considered bad form regardless. IP and copyright laws are literally written to just let massive companies sit on franchises for decades and rake in money from merch sales. Afaik there actually hasn't been a real case of IP theft that was prevented by copyright laws, usually it enables it, since the people who actually make art usually aren't the ones that actually own it, the company that they work for does. Which means the people who run the company can just fire the creators and keep their IP.
The reason why stuff like JJK and Demon slayer are getting sales is because they stay relevant the company that holds the rights to Berserk will just sit on it and not bring it into the limelight because their too ignorant to see that you can’t make really good stuff without a tiny bit of risk.
@@Evil_Bread_Manipulator kentaro miura is a perfectionist, not the company itself, JJK and Demon Slayer are by shonen jump which is more strict since a manga that did not get enough popularity are axed that's why they're in a strict schedule
Ngl, I think that Berserk would have a much higher profit appeal than your average isekai slop which get animes every couple of months. Additionally, Attack on Titan included r@p3 and g3n0c1d3 in it's story so heavy themes are by no means off the table, especially considering that Berserk is very clearly an adult series. I think the biggest deterrent would simply be the legacy factor that you mention at the end.
You’re forgetting that the manga hasn’t ended, has no clear ending date. On top of that Berserk has had inconsistent chapter releases (we’re lucky to get 3 per year) for many years now. I’m sure the anime studios biggest worries are what’ll happen when the anime catches up to the manga? Will they wait years and years for the manga to have enough content for another season when millions have already been poured into the seasons prior? Or risk not waiting for the manga to end and do its own thing like Tokyo ghoul. Thus disrespecting Miura’s legacy, Koji Mori, and us fans. For profits
@@jordyalmonte42 I think that they could at least commit to animating the content that Miura had produced and take a break if there is legitimately not enough content once they're caught up. But I feel that just with the content Miura produced they are set for at least a decade of anime production if they don't just pump out as much as possible as quickly as possible, and I feel like they'll have a much better idea of where to take it after Miura's work in 10 years. The fact is manga production will continue, probably at a snail's pace, and the studio might just have to say "we're going to wait until there is enough content to continue." But I don't think they'd need to wait that long that it would risk damaging the anime's reception too terribly. Besides, most fans would much rather wait for a faithful adaptation than watch as they make another inaccurate adaptation which strays from the source material. I also believe that the mainstream attention generated by the anime would boost manga sales and could therefore better support Mori and his team with manga production.
@@jordyalmonte42I think you needn’t look further than Netflix’s Devilman Crybaby, or Hunter x Hunter to move past these feelings. There you have a seriously twisted show depicted for a massive audience, and on the other hand a long running manga that hasn’t ended yet that received a stellar adaption.
I would love if Studio fortiche to do it they are Responsible for Arcane. The studio said they would love to adapt to Vagabond or get the studio behind blue eye samurai
I would say having a Western studio do it is sacrilege. There are plenty of Japanese studios who can do it and do it better. And I most definitely don't want another 3D looking adaptation, even if it was made by Ufotable.
@@darken2417 Why does it matter that it's Japanese? Were The Lord of the Rings movies not great, even though they are American/New Zealand? Point is, it's an adaptation. Anyone with a passion for it and a big enough budget and talent can make something incredible.
@@darken2417 Berserk is a story. Anyone who likes it and has the means to adapt it should be able to do it... Imagine saying to Peter Jackson, "Nah you're not British, so fuck off, trying to do LOTR." What even is a "Western Netflix type cartoon"?
When in was a kid i was raped/molested by a older male student and even with this I had real deal PTSD struggling dealing with this for a long time as it came back up since high school. This series shows that for someone like Guts and it made me feel related to him and even though I feel like I got a taste of hell and abuse you train hard and take more control of your life and carve out your own destiny. I know others will not feel the same but that's I see it.
@KitsuneAnimeYT thanks for the response. I have felt like I have taken back control of my life through martial arts and weight traning but seeing a character go through something similar and even worse and still push through literal hell helped me sympathize and respect him as a character.
I think the reason berserk doesn’t get a anime is bc I feel like most studios don’t want to pick up something that isn’t finished Especially when it’s on constant hiatus, they would catch up in no time and then make up a ending that everyone would hate
@@mermbermpie5371because those anime actually have ending in sight. And when they don’t, it ends up going horribly wrong. For example game of thrones (not an anime but it’s the best example of this)
@@mermbermpie5371 yes but berserk would release a chapter a year at most sometimes if we even got one, most of those animes had a ending in sight, Shonen jump has a strict schedule those people can’t take breaks
Who ever made Vinland saga should do a beserk adaptation because Vinland saga is one of the best mangas ever but it’s not that popular and they’re covering every arc, so I think they would be willing to do beserk
If I'm a billionaire, I would invest millions and millions for its manga ending and a really really good anime adaptation. idc if it'll make profit or not, but yeah it sure is fun to dream
I just finished the 1997 series for the first time, only thing i new was what happens in the eclips, man even knowing that, this was a complete masterpiece of a experience
This is why you don’t announce fan projects until after it’s finished and then release it for the public in a way for everyone to access it. That way if the IP holder can’t take it down since it will be too late and it spread far enough for fans to enjoy and reupload it.
One thing about Studio Eclypse you guys should understand is that they're a total scam. Studio Eclypse was never going to release their anime even if Hakusensha didn't even say anything. The voice actor of Guts has been very vocal about the so called ''production'' of the project and said this. The project was already abandonded since may this year. All the directors and animators left and only the voice actor and a storyboard artist keep the project ''afloat'' since the last 6 months. Yet they STILL collect money from unassuming patrons. The project has been cancelled for the better half of the year without saying anything. And the so called ''trailer'' wasn't even a trailer to begin with. A trailer is just a complilation of shots from an already finished episode or movie. Studio Eclypse however took MONTHS to make one single trailer. Which likely means that they made the shots in the trailer specifically for the trailer itself instead of taking existing shots from finished episodes. They haven't made anything past what you see in the trailer. The same happened with their AOT project. It has been years without an update and they still collect money from patrons and that project has been cancelled YEARS ago. The funny part about Studio Eclypse is that they wanted to start a THIRD project without even coming close to finishing their other projects.
Yeah, I looked into them while I was researching this video, and they come off as very shady. I wouldn't be surprised if they put most of their effort into the few minutes of animation we see in the trailer to hype people up for Patreon money, then make off once they've gotten enough cash.
To follow up what you said about the aot project, and it's so blantly obvious, they released a second aot trailer for the 'first ep' 10 months ago saying it'll be in 'Fall 2024', and guess what? Fall started in September. Now to just go off basic knowledge of projects and deadlines. Usually when you get hit with the Mjolnir that was the official berserk's notice, you wanna go ahead and comfort to the fans who are devastated saying 'We are shocked and may have lost berserk/figuring out the current plan, but don't fear! We still have our other project!" because y'know, that's what happens when one of the only two fan projects get impacted and you want your fans to still have hope and look forward to the product. But they don't, no patreon or twitter follow up, even though the previously estimated timeline mentioned it should be in current release especially with this news right? But no, the official website shows no updates either or a link that's blocked by a paywall like the trailer. Now usually it'd be fine since it's a 'fan project' and people have jobs and lives outside that so they can push back right? Well, when you siphon off your fans through a patreon and kofi and show nothing you lose trust, integrity, and an overall 'brand image' you were trying to set yourself by 'honoring' the works. This shows as 'fans' to the community and the original work that not only are you incompetent at making a fan project, you're also bad at business and promise. Or it's just a scam with monthly subscriptions with nothing of value, because to the berserk audience, like guts to griffith's name, is very vulnerable to the words of 'anime adaptation', especially since the 2016 ver is very bad (wow... 2016 huh, time flies). So funnily enough, just like how Jill and Rosine both believed if they'd escape at the first sign of hope they could escape this battlefield and head towards elven paradise, the fans were caught by the 'hope' of a successful adaptation, and hook line and sinkerrrrrrr. Unfortunately that was never the case.
BRO WHAT? I'm not even a manga drawer or anime artist and I know that having an official anime gets your manga sales up, THATS WHY JJK AND DEMON SLAYERS NUMBERS ARE SO HIGH IS BC THEY HAVE AN OFFICIAL ANIME, like it's not that difficult to understand, also the whole "no one can live up to its legacy" NO anime looks just as good as its manga. Bc there's a difference between drawing and animation😭💀 there's obviously a different reason they don't have an official anime, I feel like mappa should do it, and iv said it since 2015, but they need to stop other projects, and focus on berserk to make it as good as possible just like how jjk had good quality every now and then, there the only studio who can do it
I believe the core reason why is because studios don't want to put their jobs and THEIR LIFES on the line with the burden that comes with animating a manga so graphic like Berserk, especially since we live in 2024. There have been graphic animes released, for example Devilman Crybaby but that just barely compares to Berserk. Twitter literally went on a rant for days because they read one page from one chapter of the damn series, calling Miura all types names. If we were to get an adaptation I believe it would be censored BAD to the point where its basically its own anime.
Crazy how Goblin Slayer managed to get a proper anime despite it's adult content, but not Berserk. And some may talk about Castlevania being dark and has a quality production series, but PLEASE don't even bring that up. Castlevania Netflix is the EXACT OPPOSITE of why we love Berserk. It truly is THAT series, you know, the one that is "edgy just because" and has no substance. So please people, please don't insult Berserk's legacy by comparing the two. Just because you see a shirt-less Asian guy fight like a badass, it still doesn't mean that is Bruce Lee.
Goblin Slayer is weird because the first episode is as dark and messed up as it gets, then after that, it pretty much turns into a fun, light-hearted story about some D&D party that go on wacky adventures together. There's occasionally some dark stuff but it's mostly pretty tame after episode 1, and the story isn't anything deep either. It's basically the opposite of Berserk, where it's just edgy for the sake of being edgy. (Granted, I've only seen the anime up to season 2 ep 6 because I got bored of it after that.) I dunno how that affects sales or adaptability, but I felt like sharing my opinion on the anime.
The Goblin Slayer anime is NOT a proper adaptation. There's so much content that was cut off (including the MC's backstory) and the censorship is crazy. The anime and the manga are almost like two completely different stories
Bruh this breaks my heart tremendously...and I'm a fairly new berserk fan I'm currently reading the beginning of the Millennium Falcon Arc and this is easily one of the best stories I have ever read in my life and for it not to receive to have a proper adaptation sucks man it really does 😕 ( the series had such a big impact on me that 2 weeks from now I'll be getting my very 1st tattoo and who will it be ? U guest it...GUTS !! ) we must stay strong berserk fans !!! 💪
I'll say this....The 2 million views the trailer by Studio Eclipse got, an unknown entity mind you, might give Hakusensha a good kick in the right direction towards developing an actual anime. IDK....consider me optimistic
Honestly cant agree with the argument that berserk wont sell, if an official anime production was released it would be massive definitely profitable business
Facts. I mean lost children would be hard to do. But sales would sky rocket. I bought all the volumes after I've seen the movies because I wanted more. It'll take forever to even reach volume 42 and by then it'll be close to the end of the manga hopefully by the time the show reaches to that point
Honestly, the biggest reason Berserk can't catch a proper anime is simply due to the subject matter it covers. Rape, sexual assault/abuse, torture, mutilation, body horror, child abuse, and so much more. A lot of mainstream anime has a lot of censorship. Take a look at the movie adaptations, even the 1997 anime had to censor or cut a lot out. And that's the issue. You can't cut certain things out. Fuck, Guts childhood is VERY important in understanding why he developed such a close bond with the Band Of The Hawk, and especially to Griffith. Even him and Casca having sex in the woods establishes Guts is beyond mentally fucked up. And to hav the Eclipse on top of that, just adds layers to why the guy becomes so unhinged and a fucking monster. I honestly understand why studios don't wanna take such a risk with Berserk because of how mainstream media would potrey it's dark moments. In short. You can't make a Berserk anime while cutting things out. You lose context to important moments and scenes that are critical for the narrative. And you can't add them all without pissing off the snowflakes on Twitter who will try to have your shie cancelled. No win for anyone involved
Yes that is correct that’s why it should be put on a streaming service not broadcasted on tv. Castlevania and devilman crybaby were plenty dark so I’d assume berserk could be put on there too
@mrhunter2154 Then that leads to another issue: Money. Devilman Crybaby and Castlevania, while definitely not having censorship issues, ARE much shorter. With Devilman Crybaby being 10 episodes. Berserk is a MONUMENTAL series, with 365 chapters to adapt. Is it possible? Most definitely, but it will require a lot of money. But we can pray tho 🙏
I heard that Hidetaka Miyazaki was inspired by Kentaro Miura's manga to start making the soulsborne games Being a big fan of these games I started reading berserk, around chapter 80 rn Loving it so far, I can already see so many references of Berserk which were made in Dark Souls and Elden Ring, it's awesome
If you read the community post studio eclypse released on their youtube channel it gives some insight to what happened to the project. And honestly its more exciting than what we were getting initially.
You were on point when you talked about Berserk's legacy. Genius is an awful understatement to describe Kentaro Miura. The Lord of The Rings has always been my favorite work of fiction and my whole life I believed that no story ever would be able to match it, until I started to read Berserk. It's not a story of vengeance, tragedy for the sake of it or an edgy swordsman with an unfortunate past, It's much, much deeper than that. It's certainly dark, but extremely inspiring at the same time. Maybe I'm coping, but I reckon the main reason why a big studio hasn't adapted Berserk yet is because there is no end in sight for the story and it takes a ridiculous amount of time to get new content. Berserk is just so good that not even the snowflakes on twitter would be able to cancel it, I'm sure.
Berserk is the only manga/anime that impacted me the most. The art, the story, the fight panels, nothing compares to this masterpiece. And the fact that the current manga is always on hiatus, no one is allowed to make an adaptation, also NO ONE is making an adaptation is very concerning. I fear it will go down in history without Guts ever seeing the ending. I would PAY to see this anime it deserves in production.
i dont know if everyone that doent want to spend over 1000 aud on the entire manga to read it there is probably more than 60 mil that like it, watching youtube, reading it on free website or watching the anime. if they just made one (if your a rich anime studio pls make one) it is possible it would do well bro cmon pls someone make one
Not only that, but over 1000 aud on one that seems to barely release chapters. I hate buying stories that are unfinished or seem to seriously struggle getting finished. I feel like at this rate it will take yeeeears to finish. I'll probably be double my age at that point. Wouldn't be so bad if they released often, but they don't.
I own all the 97 and newer versions of the golden arc anime and the 2 seasons of the 2016 continuation and liked all of it even when people hated the animation of the 2016
I'm 16 and Berserk is my best discovery of a life time. And I have watched a few animes to tell that... I watched the 1997 version along with the movies and the 2016 crap whole, and it just made me want to have more, knowing that not all the of the elements are not always displayed just makes me want to read the mangas, and that's what I'm going to do when I receive them. I don't care if it's finished or not, I will read whatever comes out, and when I'm done, I will keep it safely in my home, perhaps read it again, give it to my friends and make them discover this incredible world that is Berserk...
Well tbh I won't really show it to my friends cause emotional maturity is a thing and probably many viewers don't have it but iam glad you do so...I just keep berserk to myself and I would cherish it forever and die with it and it's teachings...ik sounds crazy but yeah this series is my favorite and it truly shows what our history truly has been....btw iam 17

Great video man, the feeling is mutual. Hopefully one day we get a great anime adaptation for this Masterpiece. Also i want an anime adaptation for 20th century boys😭 subbing and looking forward to more content from you🙏🏿
Big flaw in the early part of this video. Demon Slayer and many other Shonen’s didn’t get that many sales until the anime came out, especially after the movie was massively successful for Demon Slayer. There are plenty of anime that get high quality anime adaptations without having sales remotely near Berserk. It’s about marketability and merchandising. If you were in Japan after the time Mugen Train released, you would have noticed demon slayer being slapped on everything and tons of children having some sort of merch. Something more mature like Jujutsu Kaisen is still successful because that show appeals to huge range of young men and young women and it’s also good for merchandising. Honestly, they are right to think that a high quality Berserk adaptation isn’t going to bring the same results, especially in Japan.
You're right. Merchandising seinen is difficult. Berserk deluxe edition is worth owning for the art quality alone. They need to market their strengths. Even a pre-workout would get sales.
How different worlds, and how similar a case. J. R. R. Tolkien. Two finished stories, and the most important one, unfinished by the Authors. I would go in such a case, as Peter Jackson (well, maybe a little bit differently). Two adaptations (one of which is almost outstanding). Here, at least, there are still people, at least competent to finish it in the spirit of the Author, and not like "Rings of Power".
Had to reply to this video again which I've watched many times now. I've just noticed that Hunter X Hunter, another excellent work of art, while started in 98, only had 84 million copies sold. Yet that received like 6 seasons. Soooo..here's hoping Berserk sells another 20 million to warrant creating another season or 2? Ganbatte kudosai Hakusensha!!!!!
One more thing that you didn’t mention but I think might play a factor in why it hasn’t gotten a good anime yet is that while the people who like it are really into it, it is kind of a niche in the broad scope of what people enjoy. Most people haven’t even heard of it so an animation company might be afraid that nobody will watch it if they were to make one.
Who ever on the castlevania team was in charge of animating Striga's scene in the day armor needs to post a fan-animated scene of berserk. Maybe if people see how amazing it could be, it'll get enough hype to convince the studio to pick it up
I wish they would have just kept on with the movies. Slowly cover each arc in two or three-part movies with a middle-ground budget, until its finished in 2100.
Simple fact: there are not people with balls big enough to make badass anime as Berserk and even if, they would fail somewhere in the middle of the process
Anime and manga are two distinct art forms. You can't convey what you can with a still manga image the same way with a moving anime image. Copying all the strokes it takes for Kentaro Miura style shading would be a nightmare lol.
@@karimradwan5535 They already had an AOT project they were working on prior to berserk which they also were taking Patreon money for. I agree with 90% of your video, but i don’t think every artist is ‘afraid’ of Berserks legacy. Even the fan adaption you mentioned looked really promising. It’s totally within the scope of a talented studio imo Great video though. Hopefully Berserk gets a shot one day!
I'm gonna be 20 soon and I am still unable to understand my type of choices,my experience says think more than you do so its better to wait for a right one
Berserk might honestly benefit from a live action series. The only thing that might put some people off is some of the comedic elements, mainly puck and isidoro, will need to be revised in a way that stays true to their characters but doesnt throw off the tone and make them hated characters, especially puck with his random 4th wall breaks that even in the manga are kind of janky.
@@WuTangClan-og5mlnot fuckin Dwayne rock Johnson that’s for fuckin sure, tired of seeing that dude. I’d have to be someone that you’ve never seen before that’s an actors fr fr. If I see one famous mf Ima be listening to fr.
Agreed. The first season of the Witcher was really great. The monsters looked good and the story was also good. Berserk world is a little less fantasy which means practical effects could be used for most of it. Well until the later seasons if it follows the manga. But I still think some of the really dark themes like rape, mutilation, and such which are important to the story would still throw so many people away. Some people just do not like watching that.
I think if they rerelease Berzerk as an actual good anime like jujutsu or demon slayer it would make money. Yes it's not a girly cutesy anime but it's such a great story, also other anime's do have very dark moments like jujutsu and demon slayer.
After the Uzumaki anime I think I’d rather never want to see it animated. Just like Vagabond, Real, Oyasumi Pun Pun, and The Climber I think they all shine best in the pages.
Its content totality = limited audience = non-appealing for studios to pick it up, don't you reckon so? As long as a project is presented in an overall way that appeals to a studio, the studio will most likely pick it up. The unfortunate thing for Berserk is that it cannot offer the totality that JBA (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) offers and presents. Too many big and also minor factors that puts them off, many of them mentioned in this video. Until then, all we Berserk-fans can do, is to wait... and wait some more. On the more positive note, David Production gives hope that even Berserk can be picked up, once again... Some.... decade.
I love berserk That being saided sometimes i don't understand Why it is so special over let's say black lagoon Or other ambitious as heck anime Or not even ambitious but ones that are hitting jackpoot in being awesome and deserving on being remembered
Animes that pander to kids and young teens ofc are going to sell tons of units. How they would compare that to a more visceral story is ridiculous. One of these streaming platforms needs to be smart and try to lock this in for an animated adaptation.
I literally just got into berserk a week ago, and it’s already my favorite anime, it has some of my favorite side characters in anime, and the whole premise is so interesting and intriguing. But yet, I had to come to the dark reality that there is no genuine anime, the manga is not even concluded, and overall the anime itself gets no representation I mean guts didn’t even make it in jump force and they let everyone in that game, berserk deserves better.
If stuff like the Game of Thrones was able to garner mainstream success I honestly don't see how the subject matter of Berserk would be any detriment to a good adaptation.
if become very very rich in the future then I will buy all of these companies and make good berserk anime adaptation berserk helped me if I can help berserk then why not
I think studios are hesitant to attempt to adapt what is widely known as a masterpiece and possibly the greatest and most beautiful manga, ever. They know that it would have to be perfect. Mappa did well on the golden age arc.
Technically we did get a great no, amazing no, the truest anime adaptation which is berserk 97. The most perfectly underrated undescribed masterpiece I've ever seen in the media that literally made me want to check out videos like this in order to learn more about berserk and the story going forward. Without this anime I probably wouldn't have cared so put some respect on it's fucking name
Ehh I loved '97 but it was far from perfect. It changed/ignored so much stuff, that it continuing would've been pretty difficult. Like, even the way Guts gets out of the situation at the end of '97 would've come out of nowhere, since they don't set up any of it in the anime. There's also obvious stuff, like Puck just being removed completely.
@@CaptainEffort I heavily disagree, anime tells a self-contained story saving the more fantastical elements for the ending. What's a good idea, it draws you in with the characters and their relationships so when you see what happens later it has a bigger impact. I wasn't disbelief to see Griffin sacrifice people including his closest friend to demons. And if this anime had a second season I bet it would have the skull night entered and that could have been a cool thing where he guts that speech to endure and drive from his endorphins. Which could have led perfectly into what he experiences in the manga introducing us to puck in the many other characters. Since now we know that this is the world based on dark fantasy there's no need to hold back now
@@shadow-gr4iw Fair enough, I can see that. It further emphasizes the grounded nature of the world before shit goes sideways. But even then, like I said, I love ‘97. But to call it the “truest” anime adaptation when it changes so much, I sort of disagree with, even if it’s still excellent. And if there was a second season, and they went down the path you suggested, it would only further reinforce that to me. It’s not really “true” if they’re reordering events and changing so much, ya know? But for the record, ‘97 is still peak, like it’s one of my favorite anime of all time and was so good that it single-handedly got me into manga lol, so I unequivocally love it. This isn’t a slight against it, like for example FMA is great, but I wouldn’t call it “true” to the manga. That’s an extreme example, but you see my point.
@@CaptainEffort I understand that, the reason why I like 97 more than most people, is because it cuts a lot of stuff that what turn most people off in the series and stuff that has already been done great before. We've seen guts at his limits and with fears in his eyes that set up more to come, we didn't need that same message being nailed down by the skull knight, and the other demon. Plus doing it in the way that I explained set up one more is to come. Like the skull night telling guts to go indoors and survive, wild, and the the rape scene between guts and a grown man ( in my opinion was handled much better in the anime you don't really need the detail, the small hits worked really well))
97 was great, but it unfortunately skipped most of the Black Swordsman arc, went straight into Golden Age, ended at the climax of the Eclipse ( if you'll forgive the expression) and then left us off with the massive cliffhanger as it leads us into the Lost Children arc. And though the whole ppint of 97 was to primarily adapt Golden age which it it did a PHENOMENAL job at by adapting the quiet moments between the characters, the medieval politics and ,of course, The Eclipse; they also cut out some MAJOR parts of the story. Namely everything to do with Skull Knight, which is a pretty *enormous* omission Also the exclusion of Wylde felt a little weird. Yeah, he's a hateable character who seems to at least partially exist for shock value ,so I can see why cutting him felt appropriate for time due to the amount of episodes they had left. But Wylde himself DID serve a purpose, not only did he reintroduce the supernatural after its been absent for so long but his presence specifically showed that Guts had gotten stronger and can now actually *kill* or at least fatally wound an Apostle. Which in turn makes the dread of the Eclipse even worse as we know how hard it is to kill even one, let alone *dozens*

@@krystalneko4094depends on the contract but your point is still mostly the case

Poor berserk, THE PAINNNNNNNNNNN
This is why you don’t announce fan projects until after it’s finished and then release it for the public in a way for everyone to access it. That way if the IP holder can’t take it down since it will be too late and it spread far enough for fans to enjoy and reupload it.
How would they have gotten the funds then?
Because the pressure to make the perfection anime adaptation is immensely overwhelming after their failure with 2016 CGI
Just wait a few years. I'm sure Berserk is gonna get a faithful Anime Adaptation soon.
If I had 3 wishes I think one of them might legitimately be for there to be a good Berserk anime 😢…
That's a solid point bro
(Granted, I've only seen the anime up to season 2 ep 6 because I got bored of it after that.)
I dunno how that affects sales or adaptability, but I felt like sharing my opinion on the anime.

Berserk 97 is a good adaptation
This just broke my heart. I was so long forward to the eclipse studio anime
I finally heard what I've been saying about Berserk being as great as like modern day sheakspear etc! Lol
Facts. I see it as a big ol light bulb ready to blow
Castlevania and devilman crybaby were plenty dark so I’d assume berserk could be put on there too
@mrhunter2154
Then that leads to another issue:
Money.
@@StapleG_IO oh I agree with that a berserk fan needs to win the lottery lol if I won I’d definitely fund it

I heard that Hidetaka Miyazaki was inspired by Kentaro Miura's manga to start making the soulsborne games
Being a big fan of these games I started reading berserk, around chapter 80 rn
Loving it so far, I can already see so many references of Berserk which were made in Dark Souls and Elden Ring, it's awesome
If you read the community post studio eclypse released on their youtube channel it gives some insight to what happened to the project. And honestly its more exciting than what we were getting initially.
The 2022 berserk is the true proper adaptation. Just needs a continuation

Thank you for this video, and your kind voice🤗
Really need a studio to do for Berserk what Dave Productions did for Jojo’s.
I'm guessing it's the same reason why Claymore will never get a proper adaptation along with not being popular in Japan in the first place SOMEHOW
The anime and the manga, the lessons and stories told throughout the series are just perfect, on par with game of thrones if not better.
While Tolkien was writing more stories in middle earth Lord of the Rings was a finished self enclosed story
Maybe if people see how amazing it could be, it'll get enough hype to convince the studio to pick it up
And also as long as we get to finish the manga I'll be happy. Then we can think about a good anime adaptation
The fact fans made season 2 episode 1 in the 90s style blows my mind. They are the real heroes.

mappa needs to get on this since jjk has like 2 seasons left!
The golden age arc. I do t believe it was the best place to start the anime. It needs to come out in the dark grudge way the manga begins
You can't animate perfection. You can only struggle.
I wish they would have just kept on with the movies. Slowly cover each arc in two or three-part movies with a middle-ground budget, until its finished in 2100.
Simple fact: there are not people with balls big enough to make badass anime as Berserk and even if, they would fail somewhere in the middle of the process
It was done already in 97. If the story was continued with the same animation style. Maybe slightly upgraded colours and no 3d nonsense.

Anime and manga are two distinct art forms. You can't convey what you can with a still manga image the same way with a moving anime image. Copying all the strokes it takes for Kentaro Miura style shading would be a nightmare lol.

Agreed. The first season of the Witcher was really great. The monsters looked good and the story was also good. Berserk world is a little less fantasy which means practical effects could be used for most of it. Well until the later seasons if it follows the manga. 2:20 consider this you bad omen 💀
Honestly 2012 Berserk is not bad. It just needs to polish up the bad scenes and adds in the cut contents
After the Uzumaki anime I think I’d rather never want to see it animated. Just like Vagabond, Real, Oyasumi Pun Pun, and The Climber I think they all shine best in the pages.
i cried when miura passed away
Some.... decade.
I think that berserk would not get a anime due to it complex Art to animate and also the themes of berserk so it a Risky thing. To do
I love berserk
That being saided sometimes i don't understand Why it is so special over let's say black lagoon
Or other ambitious as heck anime
Or not even ambitious but ones that are hitting jackpoot in being awesome and deserving on being remembered
Don't know if that last part is a joke or not, but regardless it got a chuckle out of me lol
"Contend and endure" damn.
Namely everything to do with Skull Knight, which is a pretty *enormous* omission
Also the exclusion of Wylde felt a little weird.
I think berserk would do good if they did a live action like game of thrones, the anime dont look cause the style of art is hard to duplicate
Maybe Netflix will do the work after they bodied Crunchyroll
keep in mind that netflix made the Witcher adaptation
I'm not too upset about the lack of an anime because the manga is incredible
There is no lack. Berserk has 2 Anime adaptations.
@@UndergroundRose plus 3 films
@@cymikgaming1266 Oh, so I actually meant the 97 and the 2013 movies. Totally forgot about the 2016 one, hahah.
And all have been horrific...
I hope I live past the copyright law for Berserk then someone can release a proper series
I think Studios don’t like the Godhand as villains, and Guts can’t defeat them through friendship and screaming.
