Hello and welcome to today's tutorial on how to make your iPhone videos look cinematic! With just a few easy steps, you can transform your ordinary footage into something that looks like it was shot by a professional filmmaker. So let's get started!
Step 1: Adjust the Frame Rate
First things first, let's adjust the frame rate. By default, your iPhone is set to shoot at 30 frames per second (fps). However, if you want a more cinematic look, switch to 24 fps. This will give your footage a more cinematic feel and make it look more like it was shot on a traditional film camera.
Step 2: Plan your Shot
Before you start recording, take a few moments to plan your shot. Think about the composition, framing, and lighting. Try to create a sense of depth by using the rule of thirds, which means placing your subject off-center for a more interesting composition. You can also use leading lines to guide the viewer's eye through the shot.
Step 3: Use Manual Focus
Next, switch to manual focus mode. This will give you more control over the focus and allow you to create a more cinematic look. To do this, simply tap on the screen to set the focus point and then adjust the focus manually by sliding your finger up or down.
Step 4: Use a Stabilizer
Shaky footage can ruin the cinematic look of your video. To avoid this, use a stabilizer like a tripod or a gimbal. This will help keep your shots steady and smooth, giving your footage a more professional look.
Step 5: Color Grade
Finally, color grade your footage to give it a cinematic look. There are many apps available that can help you do this, such as Adobe Premiere Rush or LumaFusion. Adjust the contrast, saturation, and brightness to create the look you want. Try to create a consistent look throughout your video by using the same color grading settings for each shot.
And there you have it! By following these simple steps, you can make your iPhone videos look cinematic and professional. So go ahead and start creating amazing videos today!

You can’t call this cinematic it’s maddening!

LOOKS cinematic
Jesus christ
On RUclips, "Looking Cinematic" has always been small mini tutorials for film school techniques. I feel the term Cinematic has always just been a formula that filmmakers have followed and built upon. The same practices have been used professionally for so long it's just expected.
But it definitely looks better than most of the stuff you see recorded on a phone.
This is crazy how great this is!
Thanks!
Tip rule of the thirds! Go for a one of those 2-3 lines on your iPhone camera it makes for better shots and makes the image pop.
I want a full break down I followed and subscribed
Full breakdown
Thx
Awesome
Ok so these tips are good but when your editing make sure to go to filters and then chose the filter called “dramatic cool” then it will look a bit more dramatic hope this helped!!
I guess it just comes down to different preferences 😉 thanks for sharing!
Hey how to shoot Broll videos ? What is Broll ?
So A-Roll is the shots that are important to the story, and B-Roll are the in between shots that give the film character. Kind of like an a-team and a b-team
I really needed this! A wig maker who is willing to create mad contents with a phone
Thank you so much!😅😅😅
Cool
Please full breakdown ❤
Cinematic video option: 👁️ 👄 👁️
Please, Breakdown 🙏🏾
Step one :get a new iPhone
This iPhone 7plus is too outdated to do anything but shooting RUclips videos with front camera is really good , but back camera isn’t cutting it

4k 24 is the best for the purest quality
True. Just not for this kind of shot
My Samsung phone has a completely good ass camera. Always charge your iPhone after buying it and before turning it. Otherwise, your phone will not work well, and your camera will be trash.
anybody followed the filter settings?
I appreciate this knowledge as I’m starting this for the 1st times. I #likedcommentedsubscribed #Reciprocation is how we can all win simple #kingthoymedia # TheGiftedSpectrumFoundation lets collaborat.
Thanks a lot dor the kind words! Appreciate it
You lost me on IPHONE 😅😂😂😂
works with any phone
@@smartphonefilmmakingpro 😆Oooww I know just joking 😁
Beautiful 🤩
Which essential oil is it?
Xiaomi is heavily recommended for mobile filming/videography, as they provide a video mode for pro mode with a 2:1 aspect ratio, I swear, if you have the skills of an actual filmer, you'll never feel down using a phone
need to try it!

How to lock exposure?
Edit: Nevermind, it’s at the top of the phone…
just long press on the screen
Give us a full breakdown video yo
How you get the iPhone animation thou?
What iPhone animation?
You can stop the video and start again like TikTok, record different angle and one video ?
also find a place with good lighting
true, lighting always is key
If you want to shoot cinematic video, you should shoot at 24 or 25 fps. If you are going to shoot in slow motion, you should shoot in multiples of these numbers.
Did you like the final result? :)
@@smartphonefilmmakingpro The result is good for this shot, but in a movie scene or a shot with more moving objects, more than 25fps will not look that cinematic because there is no motion blur. I can give the movie Gemini Man as an example. Even though it was shot in an advanced production, it looks like a game because it is 120fps :)
Hello, how do you slow down the clip ?
Start by flipping your phone 90 degrees
For social media? Not the best idea
Agree - maybe you should have mentioned social media? Some (most) of us still think "cinematic" relates to cinema. @@smartphonefilmmakingpro
Nice
please I need more of this
we have 400 more videos on the channel ;)
bts pls
I have phone nd location also .. Bt I need
Where is the cinematic part ?
the whole thing is super duper cinematic ;)
One video u say turn down exposure in post now up??
crazy I know!
How did you make black background?
That‘s just contrast
@@smartphonefilmmakingpro do you have any long video about this ?
Please tell me what should I do . Hdr mode on or off for my video ?
I have turned it off
why not use the 120 fps instead?.... lol
because the quality is worse.. with most phones WAY worse
This is geneous many don't know what their iPhone can do
it's a beast for sure!
❤ 👌
Full break down please
it's inside our course!
not even look cinematic
Well, I am sorry to hear that Mike
thanks!
step 1: get an iphone
works with any phone
Or just use cinematic mode😂
Try it, will never look as good for objects like this
Yeah
Shot on iphone
yes!
what’s the film?
huhu sana all iphone
Nice 👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you so much for showing showing me
My pleasure 😊
How to do that close up shot
huh? lol
Full breakdown please
Recorded in HDR?? Noooo, baaaad
Nop, I did not
@@smartphonefilmmakingpro yes, when you open the video to edit it, I can see HDR on screen. Check you don't have auto HDR engaged.
use 2x or 3x and go much lower so you have the table more on the foreground and make the product pop out more
sure, works as well, you will just loose quality due to the lenses
Excellent, iPhone x?
Thanks, no this was shot on a 14
This is awesome 🎉
Thank you 😌😊
Sheeesh❤
How do you get the grid
Activate in the settings camera-> grid
Thanks
No problem
I tried but it didn’t work for me. I don’t have the best phone ether so it might be that or I did something wrong
In our community we provide mentorship, so you could just post the video and I or someone from the team could give you tailored feedback
@@smartphonefilmmakingpro i just tried it again a but ago and i forgot to put it on 60 and i put it in diffrent lighting and it worked thank you so much! i didnt even know about this before!
@@averys_angels awesome!
I got confused
Why? How can I help you?
@@smartphonefilmmakingpro idk
😍😍😍
Good One 👌
Thanks 🔥
cinematic would NEVER be shot portrait.....
well in times of social media and short form content we gotta think different
@@smartphonefilmmakingprotrue but then i would use a different term...you will never go to a theater and see something shot in portrait ratio....
🤮
so heres a video idea. using a mic boom with a phone holder on it for crane shots on smaller objects like these little oil canisters
Nothing about this is cinematic
What is cinematic to you?
hahahaha what happens with fliping ? its a gimmiick
The angle changes, you get a completely different perspective :)
lens is closer to the object hence better focus
