    As a note Jason, when I do video recording, I usually use 3 cameras. Each camera has four audio inputs, so I know I have 12 channels available. I also have a Tascam recorder should I also want to record separate channels off of the sound board. Too bad DaVinci, Multicam doesn't really understand multichannel sound with multicam, but I have hope they will have a solution, since I provided one to then in February for 19.5.

    Hi Jason - I have a problem with audio. If I have two clips and I want to do a cross fade and the second clip has a limiter effect on it, where I boosted the Input gain. Then the cross fade shows a sudden level jump in the middle of the cross fade transition. What is the cause for that and is there a workaround? Thanks and best, Karsten

    Helpful video to manage tracks but I think it's still mind numbingly stupid how Resolve handles editing audio. Have clips with 64 tracks and with all my timeline tracks locked it'll automatically add 64 tracks I don't want or need. What is the point of even arming or disarming tracks when Resolve just ignores them. If your source material has audio you can't do a video only edit!! This absurdity is the main reason I only use resolve for color and finishing.

    What if you only used 1 camera, can you do this to separate, say.. music that was playing and ambient sound etc?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  4 месяца назад +1

      If you need separate sounds that are combined in an individual audio track, you can try using some of the new tools in 19 - Voice isolation to only keep dialogue, the Music Remixer to change the music that was playing or remove it, and the dialogue separator to help deal with dialogue/ambient noise. They are Studio features, but they can probably help.

      @@JasonYadlovski I have the studio version of DR, but don't see anywhere in the inspector of the, video/audio clip, to separate the music from the ambient noise, in either the edit or the fairlight page..

    What a useful feature for my kind of videos! Another single feature that, by itself, makes 19 a no brainer to update. Thank you!

    Jason! Quick question. Great video! Is there an auto ducking for Music to SFX or just for Voice over? Thank you!

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  4 месяца назад +1

      You can use the new ducker to do that really quick. Just set your SFX track as the source for the music to respond to. If you have an SFX bus, use the sidechain as I show here and set the SFX bus as the source for the music to respond to. Ducking and the sidechain can be used for anything, not just dialogue.

    Sorry I'm late. Question: If you have both mics as separate channels going in, does it automatically make them each mono or did you have to do that manually?

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  4 месяца назад +1

      Not late at all! If the mics have stereo channels but you are sending them only to the right channel in your camera, then the audio will only be mono. You can make the audio track a stereo track in Resolve and then just have the same right channel for both the right and left channels in Resolve if you want.

      @@JasonYadlovski Thanks. I know that I have heard people say in the past to have voice tracks as mono, so that was why I was wondering.

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  4 месяца назад

      Typically, dialogue tracks can be mono. Honestly, a lot of times I just leave mine a stereo, but mono is probably the better way to go unless you want to do panning with the Voice.

    Sure wish there was a REAL Video camera (Not a still camera FAKING vvvvvvideo) like my Canon XL-1 that had 2 Stereo pair or 4 seperate chanels of audio.

      Gotta move up to cinema cameras, maybe they can give you options like that.

    Thanks a bunch. With the video you just described, these steps should be performed prior to editing a multi-cam track, right?

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  4 месяца назад

      Yes, I'd sync up my good audio to the clips inside of my multicam clip first.
