This man basically playing “Bleed” picking backwards during that breakdown, my brain hurts. What a legend
The LEGEND Chris Wisemen!! Currents are the KINGS
I keep saying this but I find his picking highly interesting. For me it looks highly uncomfortable, but he seems to be highly efficient with it :)
Yeah he got crazy style
Nah that picking style is pretty common
Highly.
I played this way for 18 of my 20 years playing guitar, and learning a new technique forced me to learn the standard grip instead of protruding like that. This grip is great for really wide chugs, and I still use it for chugging larger chords. It's not uncomfortable because I didn't know anything different. The normal grip felt incredibly uncomfortable to me when I started.
You can also see a guitarrist from Archespire does the same thing.
highly af
This tone and style brings AAL to mind
Or literally any other djenty band lol
@@ErebosGR The word 'djenty' brings AAL mind
@@ErebosGR AAL is the face of Djent
@@dwayne4715 You mean Periphery is the poster child of djent, since Misha Mansoor popularized the term after Meshuggah coined it.
Anyway, Currents sounds just like any other djenty band that is named after the plural form of a noun.
@@ErebosGR Misha Mansoor brings AAL to mind
Probably one of the best guitarists in the scene, keep shining brother !!!
josh middleton (sylosis/architects) is the best in my opinon, but chris is insane also
@@wheezy1442 Josh is wasting his talent, no disrespect for Architects, but the last album was a waste of talent speaking of riffs, not a bad album but... meh

Oh my goodness that is my dream Guitar
Its sexyy
1,600 dollars
Mines coming in today😎
I know this is a guitar play through but can I just say the instrumental as a whole a sick! I’m not sure what it is, i think it’s like synth sounds, but it sounds so nice in the background! Flat out amazing!
So sick !
Ibanez. Give this man a signature model already.
🔥🔥SIMPLY WICKED TALENT🔥🔥 To the 2 thumbs down: Just because he makes us ALL want to quit guitar forever and use it as a coffee table doesn't mean you should be sour grapes. Jealous people refuse to lift others up no matter how much talent they have. THIS stuff is FIRE.
Facts!!
I'm already dying for new currents!
One of my favs from the album!
Incredible guitarist.. incredible ibanez!
I have the same guitar 6string version..... brilliant guitar
Chirs is proabably one of my favorite guitarists. Absolutely insane.
I just wanna know how and why he hold the pick like that.
Because this guitar requires Verrrrrry soft picking; it's a 25.5 scale and can barely handle B standard. He basically has to do this in order to stay in tune. Worst fucking 7 string ever made.
@@alexbrown4426 that is not why he holds the pick like that. You think he uses a different pick grip for every single guitar? Of course not.
Such a good guitar sound!
Straight shredding bro SIC video we need more of the album playthrough ! 🎸🎸🤟🤟🤟
So good.☑️🖤
amazing sound
Bro we need this in 60fps
Masterpiece
I bought this guitar before even knowing Chris did a video with it, this is an incredible guitar. It is so well made. As other reviews have mentioned, the pickups are a little weird. It's subtle but if you really listen there's just a strange jazzy funk sound coming from the pickups, even after raising the pickup height. I will be replacing them with BareKnuckle Nailbombs. This guitar absolutely shreds and is well balanced, comfortable to play, a little heavier than it looks as a solid block of ash wood, the neck is literally perfect it conforms so well to your hand and it's not too thin or too thick its just perfect. Intonation is dead on and changing it to G# was a breeze with the included multi-tool from Ibanez. I also slightly adjusted the truss rod because the neck bow was a little much for my taste out of the box. Right now I have Elixir 10's with a low 62 but plan on switching to D-Addario 11-64's permanently for drop G# or drop G depending on string tension. Amazing guitar, worth every penny and I would buy another one!
Gostei demais parabéns
🐐🐐
siempre me ha encantado Ibanez
me gusta la canción, la parte del final se queda en la cabeza jeje
excellent playthrough, now I can see the proper way to play it!
Sick
I find myself studying the hell out of this for my cover
Second skin, I think I finally feel it setting in
Save me from this living hell
This heart an empty shell, this mind a shallow prison
A menace to my health; in solitude, I dwell
Why do we insist that all hope is fleeting?
How do we reset when there's nothing left?
A false idol, I've become the hand that feeds
Making a habit of feigning misery
I have lived so many lives that I cannot fucking tell which one is mine anymore
Severing the ties, lost as I disintegrate
Fade into the deepest depths, to the darkest black
Until there's nothing left, there's nothing left
Second skin, I think I finally feel it setting in
Save me from this living hell
The mask on my face has finally taken over
Forever stuck this way, now that I can't give it up
I am torn apart
Burning through my veins, born in agony
I am torn apart
Beneath the surface, dying within
Carve me out, the faces blend together
One in the same with no identity
Occupying an empty space
Sentenced to purgatory, stuck in obscurity
Stuck in obscurity
Beneath the surface, dying within
Fade into the deepest depths, to the darkest black
Until there's nothing left, there's nothing left
Fade into the deepest depths, to the darkest black
Until there's nothing left, there's nothing fucking left
i can hear it
Love RGRs 🤤🔥🤘🏻
everyone is talking about how he's holding the pick but what about the fact he's picking up instead of down
I can see maybe holding his pick like that helps with up picking better
Along with my tab book/GP files I got from Sheet Happens. I use Chris's playthrough to help me learn parts I have issues with like that clean second. I slow it down and study what he is doing and reference my Tab book. Then I go to the computer, highlight those parts and slow them down while looping them. Gradually speeding up the tempo til I can get to the actual speed. I like to see if I can get it faster sometimes, I find it helps when I slow it back down to actual speed. Lol
FINALLY!
I’d like to point out this is drop G# on a 25.5” scale length.
yeah I was about to buy this guitar until I found out it was 25.5, such a shame.
@@Smittz so I have an EBMM Jason Richardson 7 and I copied his setup: 11-58 tuned to drop F#. It’s surprisingly doable and if you master the finesse, it truly works.
@thisguy2973 yeah but currents plays in double drop E. I just ended up buying a multiscale guitar to play them and invent animates stuff (double drop d)
2:32 Man, that would be a great black metal riff.
I wish they made this guitar with an Edge tremolo.
I've spent hours trying to calculate how the angle of pick could equal speed²/efficiency × technique but keep coming up just confused and sad.
same ola picking hand
Great guitar and good playing but why does it sound like the string hitting the pickups? Maybe the pickups are set too high
Chris at 1:30 : *video*

picks like me 🤘
Holds the pick sideways… turns my mind…sideways 😂
What does he tune his 7 strings to?
It's Drop G#
@@syko6183 This song yes, half the album is also in drop E
When the FPS isn't fast enough to catch the strumming lmfao
pinkman breaking bad playing guitar!
Thought that was Matt Tuck for half a second
Whats the Tuning for this?
string size ? )
Why only guitar track? I fucking love this band and song I know it's a guitar playthrough but please for the love of God next time include the vocals on your upcoming playthroughs!
