I'm fascinated by the way he holds his pick
alot hold their pick like that. tom searle ola and misha come to mind
And George Benson 🤟🏼
A lot of the guys who started playing guitar hero do.It's the reason Nolly tracks for periphery, he has a better picking technique.
How does it not slip out?
🤣 thats how I hold my pick. An u hook ur pinky under the high E string for stability an muting the higher strings
I love melodic desonant riffs like this being used in right way
An unironic comment on Currents guitar playthrough is the last place I expected to see a Hololive VIRUS account and yet here we are. How do you do fellow Holobro?
This song quickly grew to become one of my favorite tracks off this album. It’s catchy as hell.
Yesssir!
Truly
Good song, very catchy and you can tell it’s supposed to be a crowd pleaser but it’s done very well.
Kill The Ache and Better Days are probably my favourites.
Agreed this song gets stuck in my head throughout the day ...find myself singing “I don’t care that the times are changing...”. 😂
This song become my fav of all time in 3 minutes xD
I love Chris Wiseman. Man's a monster player. 🤘🤘🤘
I see you everywhere my guy
Why do i see ur comments everywhere
Lol that was punny
@@tatfeefhaque7898 😂😂😂
Chris Wiseman, your writing ability amazes me. I love all of your work in Currents and Shadow of Intent.
he is a wise man after all
@ktakk1 absolutely
This is really heavy. I like how metal has evolved the last few years
Heavy, yet melodic
Going from 6 string to 7/8 really made a big difference in Metal music.
The pre-chorus riff is sick and that solo sound so good!
I personally prefer his work in shadow of intent but the fact he's able to put out baller music in two diff bands goes to show how talented a guitar player Chris wiseman really is
It just sucks he's the main song writer for Currents. So whenever he's busy with Shadow, Currents is put on hold.
Love the melodic discordant harmony work! Don't what else to call it
Man, what I'd give for an instrumental version of this album. :P
It’s probably on the way
I'd love for this to happen
Just happened
That is a friggin beautiful guitar.
such a gorgeous solo
The album is simply amazing. Thanks for all the hard work and for putting it out there. It helped me a lot.
Such a great guitarist
This song gives me chills 🤘🤘
Amazing Guitar Playthrough
Brutal! This rocks
I cant get enough of this tone and its one hell of jam. Thanks for this my dude.
That tone is violent!!
AWESOME !
I’ve watched a lot of guitarists but this is really creative to me.
So good.✔️💙
Absolutely!!! THIC! 🔥
Chris wiseman is sick , he manage to bring shadow of intent and currents to the top of deathcore and metalcore world
sick guitar, sick riff, sick
Man this sounds so damn good
That is like the most well written shit Ive done ever heard 😱😱.. my boy is a stud 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Awesome
I. HAVE. BEEN. WAITING. FOR. THIS. SINCE. I. HEARD. THE. SONG.
First 30 seconds : "LOL this guy is holding his guitar pick like a beginner !"
Last 3 minutes : "HOLY ... OH, DAMN WOW !!!"
i remember when he was only doing upstrokes
Haha some people just learn so fast
Don’t need to hold it right if it’s comfortable and you got determination
Love the playthrough that Currents do for their music. Very soothing to watch😁🔥👍
What a pioneer
Having almost the same guitar makes me so happy 😁
Iron label?
@@metalheadblues hell yeah !
A beautiful guitar for a #1 guitarist
so I heard this as an ad while I was listening to one of my metal playlists... by far the sickest ad I've gotten. love this group now
The Terradactyle screech is just so🤘🤘🤘🤘
🔥🔥🔥
this man is indeed a wise man
One of the best solos in the last 10 years imo
What a monster track
I never really appreciated Currents until this album came out. This is probably one of my favorite albums by any band to come out in the past few years.
Wow...once I first heard Place I feel safest that was it. I was hooked. They became my fav band of all time. And I'm from Massachusetts, found out over year ago they from CT, which is ten min away
@@forevermarked5826 crazy you say that! That’s basically what happened with me. I heard The Place I Feel Safest and now they’re easily my favorite band. Brian is my inspiration in being a vocalist and Chris is phenomenal on guitar. I also happen to be from Massachusetts. It’s a great place to be from if you’re a currents fan because they always make sure to come around the area on tour
@@neverthere1519 wow! Very similar!U got great tatse my friend
I'm from springfield/chicopee .Mass but lived in Boston for few years years ago. But yeah man Currents are my all time fav. And dying for new material! Have u hesrd any word? They over due for releasinh something
That solo gets me every time
Also, totally thought that was matt tuck for half a second
That chorus is so fucking beautiful
So fun to see that the guitar parts aren't so violent.. But the song's parts, like a rap flow give to the song a sick energy!! Great song guys!
God these riffs have swag
He writes some damn good songs
Currents AND Shadow of Intent? what a legend
both bands are incredible. arguably each tops of their genre.
that guitar finish tho
Oh yeah
Effortlessly
Killer as always. Hope all is well.
this song is a masterpice !!😍😍😍
That is awesome.Got the same guitar. 💪🤘🤘
What guitar is that actually? Wouldn't mind getting one like that.
@@robbetorfs4093 Its an Ibanez RGD71AL Axion Label guitar.
@@baiakmenlangsuting5225 Thanks!!!
Anyone know the string gauges from top to bottom? 🔥🔥🔥
wow
Красава. Я в восторге!
It was the bends at 00:40 that got me.
When I hear the whine riffs before the chorus it makes me thing of Godzilla monsters screeching. Lord this song is so nasty
You get so caught up in how catchy this song is that it’s hard realise the technicalities in the instrumentals.
I only started listening to Currents in the last 6-9 months, but they’ve easily cemented themselves as one of my favourite bands.
BEST Song on the Album !
So what tuning does their bassist use? Drop E, Drop B, or E standard?
Brian head welch is a big inspiration!
I really wanna learn guitar... I haven't even started but this is already my goal lol
It really isn't all that hard, besides the solo which is REALLY hard.
@@jacketyt6992 wow my comment is pretty old! I taught myself guitar a few months ago and I'm doing pretty well :D
What gauge of strings is it?
Why does guitar works not offer the tabs fir theses play throughs too ???????
Hey bro, nailed it. 🔥 Btw where can i look for tabs?!
🔪 🔥
Which pickups does he use?
What camera was this recorded with?
The dissonant notes they perform are what really impress me about Currents. I can't get enough of them.
Does anyone know what guitar that is?
👍
string gauge ? thank you
Anyone else noticed he holds the pick differently now compared to how he holds it in the my disguise playthrough?
Drop E tuning?
Yep
@@blacklotus2136 on a 7 string?
@@antenna7002 Mhm
@@freezingjazzy what I find more interesting is the fact that his Ibanez is 25.5 scale length and it's reaching that low.
@@antenna7002 this one is 26.5
The harmonics man! HOLY SHIT ITS WONDERFUL!
Just found out this dude also plays for shadow of intent. Crazy
The Monster himself playing Monsters!
Chris is a fucking genius!!
What Ibanez model is this?
Solo reminds me of In Flames with a more prog metal addition
Might have bought the guitar
whats the tech at 3:14 ?
Watching him holding the pick like that is like watching a pro skater mongo push
What guitar model?
Ibanez RGD71AL-ANB
Гений!
Anyone know the tuning?
So sick! What tuning is this in? 🤟🤟🤟
I think it’s drop E
@@ianboone1710 cool thanks dude
@@olliehuxford680 no problem I’m glad I could help. Also if you don’t have a guitar that can tune that low I would recommend getting a digitech drop pedal then tune your guitar to drop B then use the pedal to lower it 7 steps to drop E. That’s how I do it on my 6 string
@@ianboone1710 thanks for the help dude really appreicate it. I have a 7 String Ibanez which I may need to drill the nut, for the strings to fit for drop E. Will look into a Digitec Drop Pedal :)
whats tuning? drop e ?
Please do an instrumental version of this album!
What’s he doing at 3:15 to get that sound?
At first, I thought it might be some type of harmonic or pinch harmonic, but I actually think it could be a whammy pedal since I don't see him hit the string in any way when it happens.
Yep that's def a whammy pedal
I figured it out, if you look closely at the part before he switched to the middle position on his pickup switch and then if you look at him as he does the hand movement he's moving the switch back down, nut sure what crazy wizard shits going on but obviously that has something to do with it
@@matthewmerrill1433 I don't think he's switching pickups there. I watched a couple of time at 0.25x speed and I'm pretty sure he only does an upstroke on that high e (whatever name it has in that tunning, you get what i mean). He for sure use a whammy pedal or put the effect in post like he explained in his the way it ends track by track.
Check out the "Currents - The Way It Ends (Track By Track)" on Sharptone Records RUclips Channel, there I explain how I get the whammy effect as well as tons of other effects I do in our music!
Yo I wanna play this but songsterr removed the tabs lol, great cover
👊 🎭
That chorus is fucking huge
Where’s the rest of the album????
I’m shocked that he plays in such a low tuning on a guitar that doesn’t have that much scale length compared to most baritones. Anyone know what gauge he’s using?
I believe he uses 80-13s
1:19 Shit he does here is insane. Insane.
I played a riff similar to this with my band in the basement. It was awesome, Until my sister said the house shook the dining room upstairs & her petagree bird died & fell off the perch. She is still pissed.
At least it died to some metalcore.
@Nicholas Stilinski Nicholas, so true . Yes the dam bird was a pain . It would carry on swuakin over any sound. I took a inovated solo lead on a stereo 67 Rickenbacker 12 string thru two amplifiers. It was like one of those Charlie Parker moments. The Band was shedding into another dimension. Truthfully, I felt bad about the bird.
Idk but I picked this song to be the first song I learn without using any tabs. Wish me luck
So, how it went?
Update!
Please I need a tutorial for this
Bro SAME. I suck at playing by ear so I’ve been looking for tabs or something. This video is the best I have so far
