It's pretty cute. It's like the instinct to keep the litter together kicks in around the human as well but in lieu of picking up the kitten at the scruff of the neck it does it to her finger.

Cats are very protective of their babies. The fact that she not only let you near them, but dragged you to see them means she loves and trust you a lot. That was adorable.

Nope. Cats have an instinct to collect their young after birth. This just means her owner has touched the babies and the smell on her hands is triggering this collecting response in the cat.
That being said, of course she trusts her owner but it's not that she wants to show them off.

My momma cat was feral. I built an insulated house for her to have her kittens in comfort and warmth. When the big day came, she meowed loudly until I came out. Then she showed me her beautiful litter. I gave her extra food, water and treats, and later, she let me move the kittens to another bed so I could change their bedding. She wasn't feral after that, and would show off her kittens to me at every opportunity, but never to others. She was a wonderful, devoted queen who raised a litter of four fine kittens, and one of her daughters still lives with me.

That's very sweet ❤ I'm allergic to cats, but exposure helps. I had a cat who knew I was in pain. He laid beside me & helped me so much after 2 back surgeries. He's passed now, but was just the best lil monkey ever. Sadly I have many stories like this, as I'm sure we all do- if watching this. ❤

She wasn't like that before, but when I hit rock bottom...she would lay on my chest, sleep next to me and demand cuddles, something that she had never done before.
She’s obviously a very important member of her family! Such an intuitive and sensitive cat!
The pride that mama cat feels for her kittens is indescribable.

I hope you have the opportunity to love on them and have a great time, October is my favorite time of year to cuddle with my baby girl yes her name is baby lol she chose her own name and was a rescue from Mexico and came to me as a gift from my mom and auntie and I waited for her 5 years to finally have a rescue is the best feeling! A Siamese followed me home from the bus stop when I was in the 4th grade and only came in at night to sleep with me. A few weeks later she gave birth in my bed😮 The heavy panting woke me up, I picked her up to take her to my mom and a baby came half way out. I thought her insides were coming out it freaked me out so bad. My mom made me sit with her until it was all over. That was my where babies come from lesson 😅

My cat MADE me watch her birth the kittens. Wouldn't stay in her birthing bed unless i sat there. If I left, she'd get up, follow and yell at me until I went back.
When my b 4 sons were all at home, every night our cat moved her 4 kittens into the bed of a different family member. lol
After we learned the order she perfered, we took a box, made her a movable "bedroom" and put in in a different room every night. 🙂 Thankfully, that made her happy and she stopped putting in the beds.

She needed her entire litter together. She couldn't leave her biggest baby out, & carried you to join the fam. That's love. She would never leave you behind.

I don’t know if you are serious but you are 100% correct. It was treating the owner as a wayward kitten and trying to take the “wayward kitten” back to the rest of the litter. It’s an instinct caused by maternity hormones.

As a cat lover since the cradle, this moment thrilled me! Mama was making sure she showed off her new kittens to HER Mama. You both should be very proud of your new family members. I only had two of my cats who gave birth. They both cried & fussed so I knew it was time. They wanted me there. Most amazing memories!
I remember when my Siamese cat had her first litter of kittens. She would cry and cry until you followed her to the closet where they were. It was like she was saying "Look what I made!" She was so smart. I miss her.
Aww, sorry for your loss. I miss my Baby Girl too, when she had kittens we made her a nice set up in the closet, but she wanted to have them on the bed right with me and my husband there. She was the best mom ever, she nursed well after they started eating wet and dry food

I can’t even imagine losing a pet now that I have them, 1 German shepherd, and 2 cats that I don’t know their breeds my brother took them in from his ex who didn’t want them, it’s sad because they were separated from their 2 other sisters and 2 dog brothers, but what makes it even more sad is that one of the cats I now have “P” was my brother ex’s mother who passed away and it was her cat and she gave it away which is heartbreaking.

She views you as a fellow female cat. Female cats of any kind that find themselves in a group/pride structure (wild lions, big cats in sanctuaries, house cats, etc) will raise young together. She's showing you her babies and probably expects you to chip in tbh. My cat did the same thing with me and when she needed a break, she'd bring all the kittens to me and then leave to go nap. She fully expected me to watch over them

I rescued a pregnant cat from the shelter before the unthinkable was to take place the next day. She gave birth two days later and I was there to assist. One of them would not have survived if I hadn’t been there to help. She was so incredibly grateful and trusting toward me after that and had only met me just a few days before. We often don’t pay attention to how much they know. They’re a lot smarter and more aware of things than we think.
