    Just sold my Mizuno MP33s to a young player with the swing speed to make the long irons fly the way they were designed to do. At my age, 80, the height and distance I can get with the 2 iron is simply laughable, and the gaps between 2, 3 and 4 irons has probably shrunk to 3 yards instead of 10 to 15. I watched him hit my 2 iron that created a trajectory that looked like a giant 7 iron and went about 240. It was marvelous to see. Glad they found a good home. Now, it looks like the 225s are where I ought to look if I can afford a set of new irons.

    I've always played Mizuno blades but seeing a 7 iron go almost 200 yards and still sound soft and clean is very tempting. 210-yard par 3 and pulling 6 iron instead of 4 iron...that would give me more confidence over that shot. The only concern is the spin. I'm used to 6500 but it looks like the height is the same so IDK.

    • @xXcharliegoonerXx
      @xXcharliegoonerXx 2 года назад +1

      They arguably sounded better to my untrained ears too?? I started with Wilson staff cavity back irons, then got blades and now I've found a beautiful medium with their D7 forged irons. They look incredible, go far and feel fantastic. I say go for the newer, easier option 😊

    • @johnc505
      @johnc505 2 года назад +6

      The hole is 20ft down hill… it’s probably flying 15yrds longer. The lofts are also 3deg stronger club to club. Seems like it’s still a 4iron.

    • @beaulandexavier5486
      @beaulandexavier5486 2 года назад

      I've played Mizuno blades my whole life and my stock 7 goes 155 yds.
      And those guys it them close to 200 yds.
      Then I've checked the lofts and felt better.
      That being said the 221 are gorgeous, and the personalisation options are endless.
      I was lucky to handle them and the non chrome/rust finish is something.

    • @TheMainMan123
      @TheMainMan123 2 года назад

      I thought that too about the spin but it’s vital to get the correct shaft. I had these custom fitted only a few weeks ago and I was getting between 6500 and 6800 spin with a project x 6.5 rifle shaft on the 7 iron. Absolutely awesome irons, I hit Taylormade P790, Titliest T100 and T200 and the Mizuno 223s came out on top in every department in my opinion plus the numbers on Trackman don’t lie.

    Love Mizuno and love the new lines. I'm not judging, it's dog eat dog out there, but let's be honest, that 223 is the Ping i210 (design that is, materials and manufacturing notwithstanding). Again, no judgment, I wouldn't be shocked if Ping i210 is a copy of another brand. If Mizuno or anyone for that matter can go one better, have at it. Lord knows now I'm tempted to trade my i210's for 223's, or a blend of 223/225.

  • @MarkLiversedge
    @MarkLiversedge 2 года назад +5

    I switched to Titleist from Mizzy a long long time ago and now I'm likely to jump back, these look gorgeous and have help and that feel. I cannot wait to try out the 225 and will likely pull the trigger to go back. The T200 and T300 are just too ugly by comparison and the Taylor Made P790 are too offset.

    I've been playing Mizuno for around 10 years with the last set being MP18's (P-8 blades, 7-4 SC's) since I picked them up back in 2018... that said, I just demo'd the new T100S' and I almost, ALMOST, bought them on the spot. They are AMAZING. Look, feel, flight, forgiveness are all there. The ONLY reason I didn't buy them is because I must demo these first - I owe it to Mizuno. :). There's nothing spectacular about these clubs, for guys that are supposed to be data driven gurus they are obviously caught up in the marketing business side of promoting OEM clubs even though there's no data to suggest these heads are technologically going to be better than previous heads from Mizuno, like the MP32 line, the MP62/67, or hell even the 919 tour line.

Only for players with very fast swings. Fitted for the 221's and they were shockingly good. Just ordered this same exact combo set with KBS $-taper shafts, and waiting the longest 2-3 weeks of my life. Planning to bend the 225s weak to minimize offset but I'm really looking forward to getting these in the bag.

    Watched the vid expecting Chris Vosh-man to make a cameo appearance😉
    Beautiful Irons and everything that you would expect & want from Mizuno👍
    But I have to admit I'm not a fan of the "MizunoPro" graphics on the back, IMO they spoil the aesthetics somewhat.

    So, I currently rock the MP20 HMB 6-PW. What difference am I going to see in the 225 by comparison? Apart from the cooler logo, is it worth it?

      Nope. The mp-20s are the best iron mizuno has made since the mp 32s & might be better than them.

      Sorry. I misread that you had the HMBs. I cannot speak on hollow body irons.

      I guess it’s a fitter and trial situation. I bought HMBs last year and love them. I played a lot last year with them and dropped my HCP by 2. They were the same loft as my X22 pros but longer by almost a club. The new 225 lofts are almost a half club ie HMB 6 iron 28 degrees & 7 iron 32 degrees while new 225 - 7 iron 30 degrees (6.5 HMB). If I was going to buy them I would weaken the lofts
