    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  6 месяцев назад +1

      I don’t mind but your statement is both wrong and right. You left it kinda vague. For the 71 model year and this 71 Demon. Hemi orange is correct. But the 340s were red in 1968, turquoise in 1969, 1970 and 71 were Hemi orange, 1972 and 1973 were blue. The 69 year is the most controversial as some early cars had 68 red motors. Many were restored and painted orange and owners have found turquoise paint under the orange and inside the bell housing when pulling the trans. Also some 1970 cars also had turquoise motors that are rumored to have been repainted orange at the factory before install.

    Make a negative with thikker aluminium foil of the front fender well and fill the negative with UV resin from the inside!!You can even foil the whole whole fendeer and "recast" it with UV resin!I ve done this for 1 or 2 Aoshima kits where i duplicated fenders!!
    But the Interior tub and the chassis are real disappointments!They could have used the whole Duster chassis and the engine!Its a real letdown!

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks. I have a plan but just not getting to the resin one. I may play with it during this build.
      Also remember that the 71 Duster was designed when ERTL owned AMT and not the current owners Round2. Also AMT was sold to Racing Champions then renamed RC2 before sold to Round2. So they may not have any files or cad if that was done almost 30 years ago. If they do they may also be on programs that are not available today!

    • @williwass6837
      @williwass6837 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheMuscleCarModeler Yeah,right!but as much as i have seen it would have been easy to put the Duster sprues inro the box!There are only 2 Sprues(except window,Chrome and rear lights) with mostly interior parts that arent needed for the Demon from the Duster!Nearly all Chassis and Engine parts are on the same sprues!The only part that would have to be modified would have been the chassis(the partthats goes to far into the front fender well)!Would have been easier then making the whole new(chassis and engine) molds for the Demon!

  • @michaelcooke2559

    The chassis of the new Demon is somewhat of a disappointment. I’m sure I’ll eventually build one, but I think I’ll merge it with the Duster kit. Thanks for sharing.

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes it is but builds up like the original kit but only better as everything fits so nicely. I agree that the details are lacking compared to more modern kits and this could have benefited from that as it is an all new tool but they decided to keep most of the original flare.

  • @jacobeakright7834

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  6 месяцев назад +1

      Have you done it? You would need to remove the entire engine compartment from the Duster. Chassis does not clear the Demon interior so that need trimming and then you need to work the Duster firewall to not be visible in the Demon wheel well. I have already done most of this to the resin Demon.

  • @brianlewis6926

    I noticed at my hobby lobby there's new sticker on the selfs for the demon and the 60 ford truck with trailer, so hopefully soon they will have them on the shelf
    I noticed when I got the demon kit I took the chassis parts from a amt duster kit and matched them up and the wheel base is off a little bit

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  6 месяцев назад

      That is cool. I have that truck on order with Hobby Nut Models as well.

  • @mitchellmunden682
    @mitchellmunden682 6 месяцев назад +1

    Will the new Demon chassis work with the resin Demon body and allow you to correct the front fender wheel opening?

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  6 месяцев назад +1

      Not really. The resin body has the engine comp from the AMT 71 Duster kit molded right to the body just like the Duster does. The 71 Demon has the engine comp molded to the chassis so one would have to go. Plus the new chassis fits so snug to the body that you will have to refit everything and that chassis detail is weaker than the Duster chassis.
      To fix my stalled project. I would reshape the front wheel openings. Remove the sections of firewall that is in the way and reshape them using epoxy putty which is something I wasn’t using back then.

    Great review. I am leaving the hood stripes off as to me they are too glossy. A friend had the real car in a bronze metallic and his hood stripes as well as the stripes on my 69 Roadrunner were flat black.

    What a Coincidence -- Received a parts lot -- Last Week -- that had a couple of frames in it. I wanted the engines & Wheels & Tires from it. Turned out to be a 68 - 69 Chevelle with a 396. Helps with a 69 Camaro That I'm trying to piece together to make into a SS but..... the other frame I just found out WITH Interior tub from this video IS a Duster - Demon *Resin* casting appears to be older cast & IN Very Good shape Never Used. Still needs minor flash Clean up & has separate rear axel & leaf springs.
    You can have it for free if you like! I don't have a need for it. Not trying to get any personal information from you. You'd have to figure that out if you wanted it. I'm not on facebook or instagram. I guess I could send It to Hobby Nut models & You could pick it up there. I could call hobby nut give them my phone # & they could call you & give it to you. Then call me.

      No harm done. Just wanted to clarify. I was planning to build a 69 Dart Swinger 340 and saw some turquoise ones. I thought the color rules for big block Mopars were the same as small blocks but they are not.
