One can notice that number of train accidents has significantly increased in recent times due human fatigue and equipment malfunction, probably due to inadequate manpower
Had a similar experience in MASS - TRL local. A SPE local departed previously and the line was not changed to AVD side. The TRL local was given proceed and started from the station from PF 14. The Train instead of changing track to AVD line went to SPE line and the LP immediately stopped the train. After 5 minutes train continued in SPE line till Vyasarpadi and changed tracks there to come back to the slow line.
The MAS-SBC route must be quadrupled. Both SWR and SR should release tenders for this in their respective sections, that can solve the huge amount of traffic on this route.
You could not deboard at KJM probably to shoot this wrong signal !! Back in 2007, during a journey from YPR to PA via 2629 (now 12629), I have experienced the train suddenly stopping, taking a reverse at a very slow speed for close to 4-5 minutes, halting for some time and then moving ahead. It was midnight and quiet dark so we couldn't notice the exact reason but it could have been a similar case of wrong route set from the section controller.
3:34 This clip was taken after Hebbal. The flyover that comes into view is the one at Bhadrappa Layout. (I had to use Google Maps Street View to confirm. Traced the track all the way from KJM!) I am a frequent traveller on KJM-MAS and this unfamiliar road on the right side of the train coming just before KJM caused a brain crash. It was only after seeing it at 10:54 once again that I realised that you reused a clip. At 10:54 of course, it is chronologically correct. Good message at 3:13. It will take a couple of generations though.
Same issue happened with 12673 Cheran where MAS Starter indicated North instead of giving south line indication and then signal was reset and given to south and delayed by 15 mins almost ig
Something like this happened with my cousin bro who was seated in the 3rd coach from the last in VSKP - DURG VB exp. He had to catch a connecting MEMU train from Raipur to reach my place and the local is given PF no: 1A while the VB arrives at 1 and on that day VB was running delayed by 5 mins. sensing this I told him to come to the front end of VB before the train enters suburbs of Raipur, lazy fella took too much time to act, by the time he decided to leave for front, his coach and the successive coaches and the vestibule area was completeley packed with deboarding passengers along with luggage. He sprinted to 1A as soon as he got down and somehow managed to board the last MEMU train for my place. This happened on Dussehera 😅
I hope this incident would have been investigated & proper correction will be taken in future. Was the mistake because it was a special train & the section controller would not know its route.
I haven't noticed this myself, but I have heard from a TTE once that this occasionally happens at Irugur Junction near Coimbatore. Since trains towards Kerala take either Podanur Bypass or Coimbatore Jn almost at random, it is quite easy to mess up routing. This is complicated by the fact that a train can be made to run non-stop through CBE even if it skips the city and goes direct to Podanur Jn (this will make sense if you look at a track diagram).
Now a days many railway staff are northis who do not have topography of bangslore Earliest days south Indians were more That is the reason I believe for giving wrong signal
That you noticed this during a casual journey itself is amazing thala !! Hats off to your alertness !!
Very interesting Natarajan. Never seen or experienced an incident like this before. Wonderful narration and explanation as always !
Brilliant observation after a long and tiring journey. I think these things happen for these special trains
Brilliant narration of an interesting situation, Natarajan. Always look forward to your kutti stories
Nice log. Interesting thing to see Controller/BYPL RRI giving Proceed towards Cantonment - SBC route.
Natarajan, you are so special. I can dare so no one India can do the kind of work you do.

lot of signal faults. We need an overhaul in the signalling system maybe

doesnt Vyasarpadi come in the avadi line
Beautiful! I enjoyed your talk more than the video. With love from West Bengal.

Good observation by LP......
Very rare moment bro, Enjoyed the whole vlog.
Interesting, seeing this for the first time.
If your original plan had worked and you had gotten out at KJM, you would have missed this super rare event... Luck was in your side

Explanation is on top 👌

Simple, I'll get down at Krishnarajpuram and take metro for home 😅 04:05
Nattu bro, a doubt.
Does every loco pilot will have a good knowledge on the route ??

Looks like LP regularly runs this route.
And convincing why recent accidents occurred.
Now a days many railway staff are northis who do not have topography of bangslore Earliest days south Indians were more That is the reason I believe for giving wrong signal
Stop rascism, section controller or station master work nothing to do with topography, mistake is mistake
How to solve the problem of the recently occurred Balasore incident
Nice capture
I also experiencing in sbc mas route
Amazing
Nice video Sir
LP saved SM's job that day 💯
Be honest, after missing the metro, you wouldnt have minded going straight to SBC 😀
So if the locopilot hadn't noticed then what would' ve happened, would they have realised their error at East?
Thanks for the garbage message! People dont realise that stuck garbage on tracks can cause accidents!
💜💜💜💜💜
Anna I will choose metro
