I played DL at launch and have wanted to start again. I put it off because, "Surely no one is making in depth guides for Dragalia Lost." Not only is there a guide - but there's a comprehensive, organized guide. I can only imagine how much time this took to make. So, before I get too far into the video I just want to say thank you! Guide creators are largely unsung heroes that keep games alive.
Foundry, you continue to impress me with your guides. Dragalia Lost is a unique game, at least in my experience, because it's clearly a mobile game with gacha elements and such, but it also has several qualities of console-based action RPGs. Reminds me more of big console RPGs like Xenoblade and Final Fantasy than typical mobile RPGs, a compliment in every way. However, a lot of people make the mistake of approaching this game like most mobile games. True, it is free to play, but unless you actually push the button titled "Auto," this is a game that more often than not requires your active attention to play. And let's face it, no matter how well CyGames programs their A.I., it cannot match the abilities of an active human player. I even remember my immediate thought when I first saw this game: "Alright, tap to attack, swipe to dodge, use skills, and a dragon. Simple enough." Boy, was I wrong. Which is why guides like this are so important. As of reset today, May 14, 2020, CyGames just put out an announcement reaffirming their statement that their plans for future content include expanding both the midgame and endgame, so guides like this are crucial for new players to understand where to take their gameplay. However, I will admit, the dark, cynical side of me still kinda thinks that most new players aren't going to care about guides like this. I mean, my philosophy when going into ANY new game is to just figure it out as I go. But then I remember how my journey through this game started, and I'm sure some people won't want that. When I first started Dragalia Lost, I had an excess of stamina and wings all the time, so I just played whatever I felt like at each moment, even as far as up to the 6 month anniversary. I didn't get serious with the game until then, and I realized I had a LOT further to go to catch up. Facilities, IO, Void Battles, heck, I was still prepping for entrance into standard HDT's upon the release of the expert HDT's. I don't think I was truly caught up to the endgame meta until around November 2019, well after the 1 year mark. Now, with the right guidance, even new players can probably reach stupid heights in the first week if they're serious enough. Granted, you're an experienced player, and I doubt truly new players will actually be able to do everything you did on your second account so quickly, but the point still stands. That being said, my question is just how many people ARE that serious about this game on their first few days. Sure, pretty much everyone who watches this video either fits that description or is a curious veteran like me. But I look to recent times, and think of my sister, who just started playing Dragalia Lost about 6 months ago, and she's currently struggling to clear the beginner Void Battles right about now. Sure, I can carry her through anything (including sHMS and sVolk, which we did for the Champion Endeavors), but it makes me wonder about the practicality of everything demonstrated in this video. Despite all the amazing help they've added to the game to bring up new players, from Hustle Hammers to Mentor Bonuses, she frequently tells me that in order to reach relevant might gates for events and such, she needs to upgrade her facilities and mana circles more. Right now, I think her material gates are Dragon Scales, mana, and Dyrnell Coins, which yes, you can get several of daily with skip tickets, but it just shows that newer players will still have their own struggles when breaking further into this game. Plus, as she would fully admit, she's not much of an RPG gamer, puzzlers are more her style of games, but she sticks with this game because of its characters (which I'd still say is Dragalia Lost's greatest strength). But as a general overview, this is still a phenomenal summary of the game's progression path. Foundry, excellent work on all this. I may have been cynical before asking how many people would actually find this useful, but I truly think a video this comprehensive NEEDS more views. I can tell you poured your heart and soul into videos like this, so kudos. You've earned a subscriber...again...cause I was already subbed to you...YAY! P.S. I've added a few of my personal "Observations from a Day One Player" below: Step 1: Ah man, I WISH I could've chosen my starting 5* character (probably would've been Mikoto at the time), but I got Hawk, and at least now I can say he was a good pull. Back then...eh... Step 2: Yes, YES. More people NEED to know that wyrmite should be used to get more Dragonsmiths. I didn't do this until several months in, another possible reason I didn't reach endgame until so much later than most. Step 3: Ah man, remember back when we had to clock in two AtP, AtF, and ER runs per day to get all the daily bonuses?Good times... Step 4: Wow, seeing the Valyx boss fight again reminds me how much I struggled to get a deathless clear of that mission when I first got to it. Step 5: Two modes that weren't in the original version of the game, yet are now integral even in the early game. These two modes, along with Void Battles, are the ones I point to when people say they are running out of content. Unless you actually HAVE cleared everything in the game, including these two modes, there's no reason to not have at least SOMETHING to sink your time into in this game, especially in the midgame. Step 6: Thankfully they just made Manticores part of the "always available" Void Battles to add to this point. I would like to add that once the Manticore weapons are crafted, in addition to paving the way toward Chimera weapons, they allow new players to enter into and likely clear higher difficulty Astral Raids. Step 7: Remember when normal endeavors only granted wyrmite? Yeah, neither do I. So glad they've changed that. Step 8: Wait, they now grant new players a WEEK of FREE DAILY TENFOLDS?! HLFLGLKLHGF. I'm so jealous. As a side note, I've almost completely finished maxing bonds with all my dragons. Wonder if they'll increase the bond level cap... Step 9: Okay, I do have an admittedly *slight* gripe with this point. Lots of people actually quit games like this when they realize that they can't fully complete a limited time event. While, yes, I would recommend grinding out limited events as much as you can, I wouldn't recommend new players to push themselves just to get that precious high-ranking endeavor. If you can't do the content meant for endgame players when you've just started the game, *that's fine*. Event reruns are a thing nowadays, likely even for crossover banners now, too, thanks to the FEH pt 1 rerun, so you can always wait for that event to roll around again. Step 10: And just before here is actually where I hovered for several months. I was once too intimidated to do the endgame content, but with the revive feature implemented, it's now easier than ever to go through the High Dragons, even for low power, inexperienced players like my sister.
Thank you for this! I've had a few friends come back to the game and a few just start fresh and even tho I'm a day 1 player with alot of experience it was tough to help them in all their beginning needs. This video was so helpful for me and them.
Thank you! I just started during gala mars and was a little overwhelmed about what I'm supposed to do in the game, this video was exactly what I was looking for! You somehow made me more excited for the game than before haha
Hey Foundry, the audio for this video is wonky. It might have gotten messed up during upload, during the rendering, or perhaps the audio was slightly sped up because it has a similar sound to when Twitch randomly sets playback speed to 1.03x
Thank you for creating this. I'm planning on trying Dragalia Lost, and I always try to look up beginner guides like this since it's easy to screw yourself over early on in a lot of F2P games. Having such a thorough and up-to-date guide is extremely encouraging in this regard. One thing you didn't cover I would have appreciated is the usage of real money in this game. I understand that this is very F2P friendly, but I usually make a habit of spending at least small amount of money on any game I play and enjoy, even if I ultimately move on. For example, I played FEH for about a week or so, and although I'm not sure if I'll want to stick with it long-term, I dropped $5 on it early on and feel like I got my money's worth out of that even having played it for only that amount of time. Some guidance on the best usage of real money would be appreciated for those who don't feel entitled to a fun game experience for free. The only other feedback I have is that you seemed to move through the guide pretty fast. I understand that it's a lot of content to cover, but the guide itself becomes a little overwhelming if you blitz through the progression and such. I found myself backing the video up a few times to make sure I was fully absorbing what you were talking about. Again though, excellent guide overall. Thanks for sharing.
Even as a long time player this was very fun to watch. It really takes me back to when I just started out the game. I still remember all the rerolling I did to get Lily and Mikoto. And they are still a part of my main teams to this day!
I'm a day one player (on and off, spending most of my time in the midgame as you described). I've found your channel recently and have been keeping up with your new vids. Even as a day one player, i learned from you here about void currency being a better way to get rupies (who knew!). After watching your weapon crafting guide, i realized i was just sitting on the resources to craft my first agito weapon. And I've been working on building adventurers/builds for high dragon trials and starting to craft those tier I weapons as well. Thanks for all your helpful insight!
I love this guide... I am not new, been here since last year with the first Fire Emblem Crossover and I watch this vid and realize how stuck I was in the beginning and wish I had this guide then... But I also see how far I’ve come now and couldn’t be any happier since today I can officially say I beat Mast High Brunhilda with my 7.5k Tiki
Thanks! My friend recommended this game to me since I play lots of gacha games. This will definitely help me out with starting this game since I have zero clue on what I should go for/do!
@@DragaliaFoundry Oh really? Thanks I'll check it out! So far really liking this game with its fighting mechanic (instead of stuff like where we click skills or solve puzzles to attack).
I am utterly bias on the games I play on first glance and impression depends on how I knew a game. But this game immediately took my attention without having any knowledge. No wonder this game is still at the top of gacha tier lists.
A little hard to say, you now have the option to skip the campaign plus there's something in-game called Notte's Royal Regimen. I would suggest following that. It more clearly tells you what to do step by step.
I just wanted to add. Try to do Astral Raids whenever they're available! They're a great source of augments, which basically boost the HP/Strength of units and wyrmprints. Applying augments to your kit helps with increasing team might! They can also drop from certain Void Battles, be obtained from events, and are redeemable from the Astral Raid's treasure trade. For whoever reads this, I hope you enjoy DL as a game! Don't feel too overwhelmed as it's understandable to play a game at your own pace to have fun and not feel burnt out. I've made so many friends in this wonderful community, as well as a lot of great memories. I hope you equally have a great time with the game! :)
@@antizexion4947 My suggestion would be to farm Imperial Onslaught, or at least keep getting those gold dyrenell coins during the daily bonuses. Those dojos are invaluable. Also if the event compendium keeps going how I think it is, the library obscura is likely to be the next event facility to be gained from the compendium, so build that when it comes to buff up your shadow adventurers. Try your hand at Mercurial Gauntlet when you want to, usually as the 15th approaches to make sure you can get as much from the victor's trove for that month as you can. Other than that I suppose it depends on what kind of characters you enjoy playing as and what dragons you've summoned. Do you wanna kick butt as a DPS unit (Kirsty, Ezelith, Forte)? Do you wanna mess with the enemy as a status inflicter and/or punisher (Nefaria, Mitsuba, Summer Cleo)? Do you wish to support others as a healer or buffer (Lowen, Hildegarde, Jiang Ziya)? Or heck, some adventurers are hybrids of those categories, such as Lazry or Tobias. The point is, build whatever you please with whoever you have on your team!
What’s the music that plays during 5:40 from? I’m a day one player and I was shocked when I saw you can choose a starter 5* haha. Very helpful guide, thank you for making it!
I beat a chimera for the first time but wow that’s a lot of grinding. Expert isn’t that much harder than normal, but it’s a pain getting groups for it.
Hey so I'm a returning player I watched the video and I'm still confused about the void grind like should I work on 1 character wep at a time or my whole team or just make each element just because
What factor did you speed the audio up by? Was the beginner guide over 1.5 hrs long? I can hear the voice effects of a pitch maintained speed increase in your vocals
For comparison on the speed of the marathon of progression, I started at New Year's. I'm only just now getting to beating Expert High Dragons. Expert Volk and Master High Dragons remain beyond me.
Is something wrong with your mic? There is an echo in the sound, that didn't happen in your previous videos. P.S. apparently this is for the first 2 steps segment.
I don't understand anything, I just saw the joker and I had to install it, but I don't really know anything, I don't if I throw away a valuable item because I got an edgy dragon guy
The audio proves it:dragalia foundry is a bot!(just a joke) BTW, there is an easy way to everything. Just let the noob reach 18000 might in whatever way(easiest in mixed element-teams I feel) and then just have a friend of theirs carry them though chimerabattles and manticorebattles. After that, they are basically in the game because these weapons are that important towards progression. Edit:Just in case someone is going to tear my head off for my progressionmemes here:that actually works for a friend of mine who only recently began playing xD
It's...kind of not that worth it anymore in this game. After choosing your starter you get 10 days of free tenfold summons (or maybe 7?) so to reroll everything would take a long time. It depends a lot on what banner is live when you start playing. If a Gala or Gala Remix banner is live when you start, you could get a five or six 5-stars easily. But they aren't necessarily the best in this game. 4-stars are really good.
hello! this is weeks late but, is there a point to hdt weapons now that there's agito? ive heard theyre best for mercurial gauntlet since the ai dont go back and forth between the agito weapon skills, but after that, is there a point to them besides weapon skins i guess? are agito (now with tier 2) definitively better now? should i just wait for the flame and shadow agito to get their weapons instead? instead of farming/crafting hdt for weapons? thanks!
Agito are pretty definitively better now. You might need a flame hdt2, water hdt2, or light hdt2 to get your first clears in expert Agito battles, but shadow you can pretty much go straight to Agito from Chimera. Wind depends on your unit.
@@DragaliaFoundry oh alright, thank you very much! actually i relied on the weekly bonuses from the standard agito battles to craft the weapons, it took a while but im patient enough, and that allowed me to jump straight from chimera to agito weapons when it came to volk, now im working on kai's fragments welp, rip hdt, guess they're just weapon skins from now on lol
Duplicates give you 8,500 Eldwater. Don't rush to summon on the banner. You're gonna get free summons for many more days, and it's quite possible you will get the 3rd unit from that one. Also, just in general saving up for the end of every or every other month is good. There's "Gala" banners which are a great place to summon lots on.
@@annabulgariu3707 In concern of the gala banners they have a rate up for 5* summons, also consider summoning on banners like new years or crossover events because they tend to rerun not as often and don't join the main summon pool.
Try leveling up your facilities. It may not seem like it but they make the difference, but besides that doing voids to get strong weapons are your best bet.
I would try save your wyrmite to summon on "gala" or "gala remix" banner. Those have the best value and it's usually good to try go in with a nice savings, like let's say 25 thousand wyrmite or so.
Sure! Just log in daily to do your free tenfold. You might get good stuff from the Rage of Bahamut banner. Maybe save some wyrmite for the next banner. There could be a Gala Showcase at the end of this month or next. That would be a better place to summon a lot.
i'm either dumb, or the speed and the amount of information is overwhelming. though the guide itself is really useful, i still didn't get how you should raise your might from 10k to 12k after listening to it mutiple times. I totally get that the process takes time, but previously, you said you reached 19k might in 12 hours, which means you either did it playing 24 days by 30 minutes each, or 12 hours straight? If it's 12h straight, then how?
I'm sorry! I did end up speeding the video up (too much) due to the original length. I played for 12 hours during one day but took breaks in between while my facilities were building. If you are at 10k right now, I'd suggest grabbing some event facilities by beating boss battles in the event compendium or battling elemental ruins and dragon trials to farm up materials so that you can start to unlock more and more mana circles on your characters. The mana circles are a pretty big help, just like facilities. I had all my characters at around 30 nodes and played Avenue to Power to get enough crystals to max level them. If all else fails, if you keep playing the story, you can utilize the augments from Chapter 9 to boost your might as well.
I made a mistake and was unable to slow down the audio so I only have this version. Since the Royal Regimen is coming soon, if anything I will make an updated video instead. Sorry about that!
I would definitely go with naferia as my first pick since you can get a chimeratech weapon and farm kia and use shadow too beat any content in the game. Other than that great vid
im a new player so i dont know anything about the game. just downloaded the game like 10 minutes ao and i tried watching tutorials so i can get a good start. i decided to click on this video... you lost me after like 2 minutes ngl. you speak too fast and for a brand new player you need to explain every little thing in order to comprehend what to do. im pretty sure this video is good for players that have experience but for new players with no experience; this video can be confusing
nice content dude, but i feel that only experienced players will understand what u are saying in the video, you just shot too much information without too much "ilustration" on what you are doing, unfortunatelly i think it's not begginer friendly by any chance

I forgot that the "Nice!" and "Great!" prompts were ever a thing. lol
Thanks! My friend recommended this game to me since I play lots of gacha games. This will definitely help me out with starting this game since I have zero clue on what I should go for/do!
Have fun! Check out the Royal Regimen in-game too. That's a new thing specifically to guide beginners.
@@DragaliaFoundry Oh really? Thanks I'll check it out! So far really liking this game with its fighting mechanic (instead of stuff like where we click skills or solve puzzles to attack).
Finally.. a great video... for beginners guide..
Glad it was helpful!
I am utterly bias on the games I play on first glance and impression depends on how I knew a game. But this game immediately took my attention without having any knowledge. No wonder this game is still at the top of gacha tier lists.
How much of this is obsolete after 2.0 update? I'm new to the game so not too familiar with the changes
So What else should I be doing in dragalia? I am in chapter 9 of story should I keep on doing story or do something else?
Zodiark's theme... is one of DL best boss sound tracks
Listening to the instrumental version of the ost sounds incredibly bizarre. Mainly the raid music.
Is something wrong with your mic? There is an echo in the sound, that didn't happen in your previous videos.
P.S. apparently this is for the first 2 steps segment.
Hermit IX He sped up the audio in editing
I don't understand anything, I just saw the joker and I had to install it, but I don't really know anything, I don't if I throw away a valuable item because I got an edgy dragon guy
The dragon is a 5 stars
The audio proves it:dragalia foundry is a bot!(just a joke)
BTW, there is an easy way to everything. Just let the noob reach 18000 might in whatever way(easiest in mixed element-teams I feel) and then just have a friend of theirs carry them though chimerabattles and manticorebattles. After that, they are basically in the game because these weapons are that important towards progression.
Edit:Just in case someone is going to tear my head off for my progressionmemes here:that actually works for a friend of mine who only recently began playing xD
still gonna watch this even though i'm about to beat e!volk lmao
where can I find the cover picture for this video? It's so cool!
You might not reply to this but what is the ideal amount of 5 star should you have when rerolling?
It's...kind of not that worth it anymore in this game. After choosing your starter you get 10 days of free tenfold summons (or maybe 7?) so to reroll everything would take a long time. It depends a lot on what banner is live when you start playing. If a Gala or Gala Remix banner is live when you start, you could get a five or six 5-stars easily. But they aren't necessarily the best in this game. 4-stars are really good.
Heads up! Get used to several currencies 😉👍
hello! this is weeks late but, is there a point to hdt weapons now that there's agito? ive heard theyre best for mercurial gauntlet since the ai dont go back and forth between the agito weapon skills, but after that, is there a point to them besides weapon skins i guess? are agito (now with tier 2) definitively better now? should i just wait for the flame and shadow agito to get their weapons instead? instead of farming/crafting hdt for weapons? thanks!
Agito are pretty definitively better now. You might need a flame hdt2, water hdt2, or light hdt2 to get your first clears in expert Agito battles, but shadow you can pretty much go straight to Agito from Chimera. Wind depends on your unit.
@@DragaliaFoundry oh alright, thank you very much! actually i relied on the weekly bonuses from the standard agito battles to craft the weapons, it took a while but im patient enough, and that allowed me to jump straight from chimera to agito weapons when it came to volk, now im working on kai's fragments
welp, rip hdt, guess they're just weapon skins from now on lol
I just started and I got Forte, Yurius and Shinobi. And I chose Ezelith. ^^ Should I keep it or reroll?
Keep!
Should I summon more on the banner now that I have 2 units out of em? Is there a dupe system..?
Duplicates give you 8,500 Eldwater. Don't rush to summon on the banner. You're gonna get free summons for many more days, and it's quite possible you will get the 3rd unit from that one. Also, just in general saving up for the end of every or every other month is good. There's "Gala" banners which are a great place to summon lots on.
@@DragaliaFoundry I'll save the Wyrms then and I'll only use the free pulls ^^ Thanks!
@@annabulgariu3707 In concern of the gala banners they have a rate up for 5* summons, also consider summoning on banners like new years or crossover events because they tend to rerun not as often and don't join the main summon pool.
so im stuck on 10,895 might and im on chapter 4 should i continue the story to up my might or is there another way except by mana circles and story?
Try leveling up your facilities. It may not seem like it but they make the difference, but besides that doing voids to get strong weapons are your best bet.
After unlocking all 5 builders, what should i do with my wyrmite? Buy tenfold summons?
I would try save your wyrmite to summon on "gala" or "gala remix" banner. Those have the best value and it's usually good to try go in with a nice savings, like let's say 25 thousand wyrmite or so.
19k might in 1 day on a new accnt? how the...
I picked ezelith island summoned 4 times in the rage of Bahamut banner is that a good idea
Sure! Just log in daily to do your free tenfold. You might get good stuff from the Rage of Bahamut banner. Maybe save some wyrmite for the next banner. There could be a Gala Showcase at the end of this month or next. That would be a better place to summon a lot.
Dragalia Foundry ok thank you so much!
i'm either dumb, or the speed and the amount of information is overwhelming.
though the guide itself is really useful, i still didn't get how you should raise your might from 10k to 12k after listening to it mutiple times.
@@DragaliaFoundry Thanks, i'm going to focus on that then :)
I would personally reupload because of the audio
I made a mistake and was unable to slow down the audio so I only have this version. Since the Royal Regimen is coming soon, if anything I will make an updated video instead. Sorry about that!
Dragalia Foundry nah it’s ok, you’re a really good RUclipsr, and I was just pointing out the audio. Keep up the good work man!
I would definitely go with naferia as my first pick since you can get a chimeratech weapon and farm kia and use shadow too beat any content in the game. Other than that great vid
No.....please no
I PICKED HAWK, IS IT A GOOD IDEA?
Yes!
im a new player so i dont know anything about the game. just downloaded the game like 10 minutes ao and i tried watching tutorials so i can get a good start. i decided to click on this video... you lost me after like 2 minutes ngl. you speak too fast and for a brand new player you need to explain every little thing in order to comprehend what to do. im pretty sure this video is good for players that have experience but for new players with no experience; this video can be confusing
who watches guides of a game they literally just got. play it first to get a feel
Thank you for the feedback. I'll probably try redo this video soon. The audio ended up too fast because the original was lost.
"Chimeratech alex can likely clear kai yan" let me find a group and ill prove it to be definite
On expert
@@Meme-pg5tw normal alex?
Great guide, maybe an intermediate guide now ???? hahaha
nice content dude, but i feel that only experienced players will understand what u are saying in the video, you just shot too much information without too much "ilustration" on what you are doing, unfortunatelly i think it's not begginer friendly by any chance
cool
