Ma'm what can be used to crush dry leaves into a fine powder? The crusher mentioned doesn't work that well, since leaves being lighter than spices, tend to climb the walls and not get finely powdered like spices. So what instrument is to used for that? For example how to crush dried mehendi leaves into a fine henna powder?

Hi, this is a grain mill so I had never tried grinding leaves in it. Today, after seeing your comment, I checked it and yes, the powder doesn't get very fine. But, if you add more leaves and repeat it 2-3 times it helps. Also, adding some other seeds like a few grains of Fenugreek/ dried amla chunks might help, if you want to make a hair powder. I have used our normal grinder/mixer for making Gongura powder before. I hope it helps.

@@SeedtoLife thank you for your reply. My query is based on primarily making a fine powder of indigo leaves, which might be used to prepare hair dyeing paste. I wonder if Fenugreek or amla can be added to that, if I am trying to make a pure powder of dried indigo leaves. Any suggestions for that?

It grinds 1 teaspoon of grains to a coarse powder. But, that is the case with all grinders. It makes pretty fine grain mix otherwise.
