Hey man, the jacket you bought is from Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. I can’t begin to explain to you how absurd it is that found that in Japan. It’s a run that the police take part in I think lol. Either way, Newfoundland is probably one of the most unique places in North America, and as homage to the jacket you should come check it out! We have our own dialect and culture, very similar to Ireland. Love your content, keep it up.
These videos where you engage with the locals and go off the beaten path are so much more interesting than people going to luxury hotels and tourist spots that's been shown a million times already.
My mom is fighting stage 4 cancer and your videos are the only thing that bring me any type of peace while I sit with her. You’re doing a good job bro. Stay up
Wish you all the best; Cancer is the worst. Stay strong (and vulnerable to eachother) :) PM me if you need an ear- going through the same, but it's stage fucked- you'll learn to cope and be more in the moment over time,
Just recently lost my father to Stage 4 cancer also. Sorry for your loss, cancer is horrible to witness a loved one fight their way through... But it is really nice to see people out there still, genuinely, taking time out for someone else going through a tough time, such as you guys. A true random kind and positive interaction, so thanks for cheering up someone's day 🍻
Bro wasn't lying about having a Mexican style face, I love the interactions you have in your videos. It really shows the chill side of different cultures.
That Law Enforcement jacket you bought is from my province - Newfoundland in Canada! It's a fundraiser run for the special olympics. Can't believe it ended up in Japan 😂
I saw the most random and obscure stuff across the vintage stores in Japan. Oddly enough I do remember alot of pieces that referenced newfoundland. Also tons of packers gear
I used to sell thrift store finds on eBay, back around 2002, and people from Japan always bought the craziest stuff like that. Seriously. It was pretty cool. They snapped up all of my Frank Zappa 8-track tapes for a LOT of money too. They're into all kinds of quirky American stuff. That was educational, selling around the world before eBay got all ruined.
These videos are amazing. There is something about having a basic/medial understanding of a language and connecting/communicating with someone in their native tongue that is beyond beautiful. That connection, albeit on the surface level seems so shallow, is deeper than comprehension.
I have literally left New England twice. I can't fly due to inner ear and vertigo issues but these videos take me to new places and I love it! Japanese people seem extremely cool.

I lived in Sendai for 3 years in the late 90's/early 2000's, and I think it is the most underrated city in Japan. So many things to do in and around Sendai! I used to live very close to Kokubuncho, and my wife grew up there from the age of 12. It's said there are 10,000 bars there. I believe it, I went to at least 5,000 of them!🍻😆 Enjoy your time in Japan! I'll be there in November!

I really appreciate the boots on the ground approach with your Japan videos. I'm going to be bumbling through the country for 2 weeks with my Mother in August and seeing the little things like Bar patrons, 7-11 Smoothies and how the businesses are laid out is a huge help and makes the trip less intimidating for a first timer.

Haha, your clothes will be fine, just air 'em out. I only smoke at concerts and music festivals, and I always wear my best. It washes out so long as it's once in a while. Also, I think the reason why Japan's vintage clothes are so well preserved is because they don't use driers. I collect Grateful Dead shirts and wear them until they have holes and then cut the cool parts out to make patches. I found that I can make graphic tees last well over a decade if I just leave them to hang-dry. My buddy throws his in the drier and his only last 2-5 years before they're falling apart. It's the heat that ruins the clothes, not the smoking (and Japan does a lot of that).
