    Hm. Okay, so I'll have to break out the hardware store aluminium extrusions and the saws and grinders to make a proper Mansfield bar.
    That goes on the list along with the servo parking brake.

      I'm afraid so. Not sure why on the North American versions of their trailers that they don't have the Mansfield bars. I don't know of any trailers without them. @westernsharpie does amazing work and creates a very realistic version of the bars.

    Definitely hope they do a Car Carrier!! Looking forward to more 1/14th Scale Semi builds. I've recently gotten into them myself. You're right... The ELECTRONICS can be a nightmare!!

      Hey thanks for watching! I’d love it if they did a car carrier! That would be awesome! I love building these trailers so I’m sure you’ll enjoy building these kits too. Will soon be doing an unboxing of the Tamiya Tanker trailer which just arrived. I’m planning on adding the light kit, bearings, and the motorized support legs to it. Going all out on this one.

      I've built the Grand Hauler and the Box Trailer... I also have the Flatbed, a Globe Liner, and the 1850L Box Van.....
      And the RC Elf is sending me the Actros 8X4 Tipper Truck!!! 😁😇🤯
      That's going to be a challenge to build.
      I've been in the Hobby since 1983... but only into Semis this year.

      @@CarminesRCTipsandTricks Awesome! Yes, me too! My first real RC car was a Tamiya Blackfoot when it came out in 1986. If I'd known what I know now I would have kept it just so I had one of the originals! The Tipper truck is going to be awesome to build!

    Awesome model with very intersting functions. If you want the flatbed look more American maybe the rear bumper and the safety bar might fit there too. These parts shouldn't be expensive.

    Subscribed! Awesome little trailers! Good pointers. Ya less warning labels is good lol. Also like how its lower than the flatbed, the flatbeds are a bit too high anyway......The Mansfield bar

      @FastFreddyRC  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for subscribing!! Really appreciate it! AND...I appreciate your input...so that's what's it's called...the bar at the back...the mansfield bar? But I agree with you...I think the flatbed trailer sits a bit too high. The weird part is if it sat lower, it wouldn't couple up to the semi. So is the scale correct?

    • @westernsharpie
      @westernsharpie 3 года назад +1

      @@FastFreddyRC Ya interesting story too how they came to calling it that, Anyway......not too sure where the error is with the scale. The flatbed clearly has some scale flaws. One is that it's too short. It about 27 inches which scales out to 32' in 1/14. I mean thats too short. Especially to be pulled around by a highway truck. Kinda looks silly. The truck is practically as long as the trailer! Most flatbeds are 48' or 53' at least here in Canada, unless they're part of a B-train which are two short ones, 28' and a 30'. If Tamiya made the trailer 45'' that would be a 53' in 1/14th. I guess they wanted to save on costs, thats an extra 12-13 inches of material they'd have to include. Woulda been nice if it was at least 35 inches, 27'' is too short. Anyway I just bought two of them and gonna make them into a set of trailers so that it looks more scale pulling around. It's not gonna really be a B-train because they'll be connected wit ha 3 axle dolly which is more of an A-train. More commonly seen in box trailers. Anyway, that was a bit longer of a comment than I planned lol. Sorry to bore you. Talk soon Freddy. Keep up the good work 👍

      @@westernsharpie Not bored at all! Love your input and knowledge of these trucks! It's so awesome that you are taking that knowledge to the kits and making them look even more scale looking then they are stock. That's serious attention to detail. So I'll say the same thing...keep up the good work! Love seeing what you keep adding for realism. And once I'm ready I'm going to be ordering a bunch of stuff from you.

    Those rear bars were called Mansfield Bars, which were fitted to vehicles after the crash which killed film star Jayne Mansfield.

    Hi, I'm just building my trailer, and I noticed that the rear turntable only rotates so far in either direction due
    to the protruding screw heads. I assume this is correct, I just had the idea it would rotate 360. Beautifully engineered kit !

    • @FastFreddyRC
      @FastFreddyRC  2 года назад +1

      That would be correct! The rear turn table can only go so far. It's not meant to rotate 360 degrees. As the front of the load will be sitting on the piece that you attach to the hitch, there is no need for 360 degrees rotation...it just would never ever get to that point. So long story short, the design is correct. Absolutely love it!

      Hi Harold. Thank you and yes I do. The point really is that it should come that way out of the box if they want to represent it as a true scale North American trailer. However, when I'm ready to do any upgrades I'll actually be getting it from Westernsharpie's RC. Definitely check out his channel. He does some amazing work and has created awesome upgrades for the rigs, trailers and cargo for said trailers. Just insane scale realism at it's best!
