- During a press conference in Moscow to promote their latest R-rated comedy, Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis encountered one Russian reporter who had a very pointed question for the Sexy Back singer-turned-actor, and one that seemed to infuriate Kunis.

Reporter: Why Justin decided to do acting? It's not doing him any good.
Mila: So you have chosen death.
Brilliant! Thanks for that!
In the defense of the reporter. Acting never did Justin Timberlake any good. But the questions are uncalled for and is very unprofessional.
I've seen him in several things and he's not a bad actor. I've seen worse.

Her parents where immigrants , didn’t speak English very well . They spoke Russian . They also , never took any of her money . She is a very humble , kind person. I saw her in an interview with her parents . It was sweet .
Anything she does with her parents is loving and sweet. Same with Ashton, they treat him with pure love. You can tell there is much love and respect in that family.
I wouldn't say they never took any of her money considering her father brings his Lexus LS600H L into my dealership for service and the vehicle is in her and Ashton's name, but I can't blame her for supporting them, I certainly would do the same for my parents if I were in her situation. Her father is a nice man, but a man of few words.
Everyone is sweet on camera.

Mila: "Hold my beer..."
You mean “hold my vodka”

Hold my beer means I'm about to do something even stupider. It would be more accurate to use "so you've chosen death"

Mila: About what?
Reporter: About the movie and about sex.
Mila: Yeah, I heard you the first time, just wanted to hear you saying it twice (she means the word "sex") LOL
Reporter: What made you want to make movies? Why on earth would you want to act?
Mila: Why?
Reporter: There are many people in show business that go into acting and it doesn't do them any good. Is it really necessary for him to act?
Mila: Why is it necessary for him to act? Well, what do you want him to do then? *everyone laughs* (I love how she is like "hold on, I got this" to Justin xd) I don't get it. If he wants to, then why not? What sort of question is this? How about you then? (*directed at the reporter*) What are you doing here? Why are you here?
Reporter: I am just doing my job.
Mila: Well, it's the same for him isn't it? He is just doing his job.

I disagree. The question was demeaning and a put down. She implied he was a loser for acting, and there is no logical reason for him to act. He is a good actor and large numbers of people like him
Are you her mother?
Go get 'em, Mila. That reporter was plain rude.
She told Justin “hold on I got you” 🤣🤣🤣

She speaks PERFECT Russian! That is so surprising because she came to the US when she was only 7, and still her grammar and pronunciation is perfect! She even has Ukrainian accent, not the American one.
Her parents are native Russian speakers.
Russian is her first language, she was born in Ukraine.
@@Zerbey that’s true, but it’s very common for people that immigrate as children to make lots of grammatical mistakes when speaking their native language, so I can understand it being very impressive if she isn’t doing this. It means she kept practicing the language instead of letting it become just something she speaks at home
Nope she does not speak perfect Russian at all 😅 you can clearly hear the accent and her small vocabulary. BUT for living 2/3 of her life in another country.. yes her Russian is pretty good. But not perfect at all )))
@@tlwagener9245 A lot of immigrant parents want their child to not be discriminated against and integrate fully, so they opt to NOT pass their language to their kids. It’s very common in the US. @Queen i mean, for one justin has always acted so she’s a bad reporter for asking that question she clearly didn’t do her research before she showed up and asked a stupid question. She didn’t ask what inspired you to start acting she asked him to defend the necessity of his acting
There's already a russian speaker made the translation of every sentence they spoke. Moreover Russian language is Mila's first language. So she noticed not only the words.

The Ukrainians and Russians are like the two at the family reunion who can't get along. I think this is a

It's not 'the Ukrainians.'

Which is why the reporter was left blindsided by Mila’s rapid firing response and follow up questioning the reporter.
The reporter was born in Odessa, Ukraine. I know her very well.
And Mila stood up for Justin after he said he didn't like the question.
This young lady is amazing. Funny, smart, talented, and doesn't take any crap.
what's wrong with the reporter? why is she rude? mila for the win!!
+Pamela Berte It's the way she's asking the question. Most people in other countries hate Americans. That's why.
Just doing her job. But I agree some questions like that one shouldn't be asked
@@amandamorse747 Only Americans think so. The rest just don't care)
Cool to see that she is American and still stays in touch with her first language. Over time my usage of my first language deteriorated because the only practice I ever got was talking to my mom.
From what I understand her parents still speak Russian, so she probably uses it quite a bit.
She was only 7 when she came to this Country- obviously her parents made her speak and keep the language. Normally, you would no t retain your native language at 7 unless there was a real effort by your parents to keep you fluent. Good for them.
My parents were from Europe but all 6 of us were born in the States. I was the youngest of 6 and everyone was speaking* English as I grew up - sadly, did not speak a second language.
My children were born and grew up in Seoul. I sent them to English-curriculum schools at great personal expense to make sure that they would speak both languages, Korean and English, fluently and idiomatically. It worked out well. Now they live in North America and everybody marvels at their English language level, given that they both lived in Korea until age 18. "I would never guess you're not American!" Well, duh. They are Americans.
That's ok, my son is Jamaican and Hungarian. He speaks Hungarian with his mother all the time as that's where he get his practice. And muscle memory is a wonderful thing so you'll be fine, trust me.
However, he still struggles to understand his Jamaican uncles which always gives us all a laugh. BTW, english is our first language in our house.

@@paolagrando5079 you rock 👍😉
I know the feeling. I feel like such a linguistic wuss when I visit other countries, and almost everyone can converse in at least two languages. I do always learn the very basics (please, thank you, pardon me, hello, good-bye, numbers, etc.) before I go to a new country, but I’m very bad at speaking other languages. Even if I know enough to be able to read things like menus, maps, street signs, and simple things, people laugh and can’t understand when I try to speak it. And almost always, the other person, or someone nearby, speaks English well enough to help out.
I really wish schools in the US began teaching other languages when the students are young. I was only required to take two years of a language for my high school diploma to be considered “college (university, really) prep.” And I wasn’t required to take any other spoken languages for my bachelors or masters degrees in engineering. I think the argument for not requiring more from university students in science and engineering was that mathematics is a “universal language,” and we did have to learn at least one computer programming language.
I will say that, at one time, I knew how to say the equivalent of “Cheers!” In 17 different countries. 😉

No offense but how are you African, but can't speak another language?
Funny how Hollywood will cast a bunch of Slavic-looking Brits, Americans and Swedes as Russians, and have them speak butchered Russian-sounding gibberish, except the few Hollywood celebrities who actually do speak Russian.
Mila Kunis once auditioned for a Russian Jew role, but was cast as a Mexican instead.
I'm laughing hard. There is also Margarita Levieva. I don't know how good her Russian is, it should be. her family moved when she was 11. SO, she was in The Lincoln Lawyer as Regina Campo, clearly south-American featured lady. And for years I didn't have any thought about that until googled her. Later she played Russian woman as the lead role in the series "In From The Cold" and probably Greek Gina Zanetakos in The Blacklist.

Why wouldn't he be okay with it? She understands the language more than him, she knows how to speak it and answer the question, so why wouldn't he be fine with her asking? (Please don't give me that bs answer about men not wanting women to do things).

Why does it surprise anyone that a Ukrainian can speak the language?
stacey dovbikk
In Eastern Ukraine it's more of a dialect of Russian. The language is sufficiently different in Western Ukraine to be considered "Ukranian".....but close enough to Russian that it's hard to imagine anyone being unable to converse with a Russian. Kind of like Northern Italian and Southern Italian.
Mostly it's vowel shifts. The city named "Lvov" becomes "Lviv" in Ukraine. Stuff like that. Ukranian is "softer", and kind of slurred together. It doesn't sound as angry as Russian.
I get a kick out of them, anyway. I adopted my daughters from Russia when they were 13 and 9 years old. It's a fun place to visit, but you have to take your sense of humor with you or you'll go nuts.

Kunis : "It's the same thing! ". - laughter. All this in a funny way Jewish Ukrainian market traders from Odessa, the city of humor. )
The reporter was asking Justin why he was acting and mila said "what do you want him to do, why are you here" and the reporter said that she was doing her job and mila said that Justin was just doing his job.
Thanks you are very sweet👍🏾
Reporter: Why does Justin need a movie?
Mila: Why does he need to make a movie?
Reporter: Yes
Mila? What do you want him to do?
Ashton Kutcher is one lucky man
Mhmm
Omg yes.
Choice. She's always been choice.
Idiotic how long it took Kutcher to wise up.
The character he played on That 70s Show
was a nuclear physicist by comparison to him.
Mila kunis ended that reporters career 😂🔥
Hopefully, yes.
She was owning the moment, she knew it and she was loving every second of it.
Always knew Mila would end up with Ashton. They were so cute on That 70's show.
I like how she's like "Hold on Justin I got this" 😂
«А шо вы хотите что бы он делал?!» Мое любимое, ахахахахаха 😂😂😂
That "Hold on, I've got this!" move omg omg omg ahahahahhaah
Shes so beautiful and smart. Thats awsome what you did. You have my respect. Mila
Impressive !!!! I love how Mila speaks Russian and tells the reporter off!
That reporter was jealous and straight up hatin . Mila flipped the script on her real fast and in Russian!
AegyoAigoo, thank you for taking the time to translate,😂😂😂😂 👏👏👏👏👏
Hello Mel❕
I wish we could see the conversation in subtitles so we can understand what’s happening 😢
Subtitles would really help....🙄
*refers you to the top comment*
Yes
It’s time for learn Russian!!
@@imcry5283 well, first French, Spanish, Portugees and Japanese and then we’ll see
I love the way she wave her hand to Justin & said: I got this!😒😁
Would have been nice to have an English translation of what was said.
I wasnt a big fan of Mila for a long time...but man then I learn more about her and she just keeps being better and better
I love when she tells him “ hold on “
If you've never had a crush on Mila Kunis in your life as a kid or teenager than you're not a normal person.
I love it when she says "I mean" in the middle of Russian speech in 0:43 hahaha!
M Kunis wasn't infuriated.. she was distraught from that stupid question asked by the reporter.
Reporter: Why is he doing THAT film.. Why a film?"..
Mila: ( what a stupid question ) why not?.." What else is he supposed to do?".. Why are YOU here? ( to the reporter)"
thankyou for explaining
Mila was mature when she turned the tables on that reporter
She's adorable! She's always struck me as having both feet on the ground, without pretentious. Tiny little thing.
I need to learn Russian in order to say, "shut up Meg!"
Mila uses her character, Jackie's stare when she gets angry! I know that she does this in her own actual life too when someone gets her annoyed such as Russian reporter asking Justin a Dumb question. Those eyes glaring towards the reporter. Got to understand that Russia invaded Ukraine. Because of her Jewish heritage, Mila's parents took her and her brother with them to USA when she was I think 12. Soviet Russia persecuted Jewish people. Her parents had top jobs in Ukraine. While in USA, they took low paying jobs compared what they had in Ukraine.
translate.google.com, that should do it! Молчи (moche), Meg
The Russian translation for this movie, "Friends With Benefits", is literally "Sex by Friendship" or "Friendship Sex".
You’re right. Their language is very direct in translation. Reporter didn’t mean any malice
In Russia, Meg tells you to shut up !
This is awesome. I know Russian all my life, and her accent was not so much of "Odessian" as someone stated here, but the way that people really speak in Russia, everywhere, I mean that "Wha'?" Excellent performance.
Was her reaction justified?
@@belkyhernandez8281 well the reporter basically asked why justin didn't just stick to singing, which is kinda rude.
"this is my bodyguard"
*Great Video! I especially LOVE the sub titles* to let us know wth is being said! Thank you!
Mila is awesomeness condensed. One of my favorite actresses.
