Only 39 HP for all that noise and vibration? its like 3900 horsepower to me, just kidding, that engine must be kept at museum like a jewel, very interesting.

What brave fishermen they were to go out to deep-sea fishing grounds in freezing blustery weather, knowing they had only one chance to restart the engine from that solitary air-tank 😕.
They were undoubtedly brave, but the engines was no great challenge. Once they started they went impeccable while they got sufficient fuel and lubrication. Full charged air tank holds 4-5 start attempts. This past year I have had 50-60 start attempts, all sucsessfully in first attempt.
Hans Petter Narverud what is the fuel consumption like for an engine like this, and how often do they need to be overhauled? I assume that since they turn so slowly that the time to overhaul is decades long.
peladinho769 I agree, I actually watch videos of hot bulb engines to relax. The June Munktel marine engine is another one that has a soothing sound to it.
Sorry for the camera work, but this film was just ment for fun. I will tell my wife that she have to improve her camera skills.😉🎥 This link shows the boat from another angle. ruclips.net/video/QMsqfJMyyH8/видео.html
So glad to see marine engine history being preserved. Imagine never hearing a hot bulb system, they're downright musical. 🙂
The engine may be danish, but the people are Norwegian and the language is norwegian.
Oh man, the sound... - wonderful. 👍🏼😊
Han Peter. That was a very impressive start up. Thank you for posting this video.
Top of the line .....1900 and? Shows us all how far we have come in 100 years. Gotta love these old contraptions....I sure do
Paul Christensen Actually, this engine is rather new, delivered in 1970. Hundested Motor A/S produced these engines until the early ninetees.
!.....?....hot bulb engines were still being made into the 90"s ?
@@hpenarve I hardly can believe they made them till the 90s that's incredible

They sing so beautiful🥰

Great stuff 👍
And then, the boat starts for a nonstop trip aroud the world ! 😄
Hypnotic ...Gorgeous
3:30...you got the beat!

Simply fantastic.
👍👌👏 Still fantastic!

Nice
they both look very Danish
In fact they are Swedish ! ;-) The motor however is Danish.
They are Norwegians. Not Swedish.

Run forever and power a big boat too
How much fuel does this engine use per hour?
consumption is 4.5 liters per hour at 7 knots (measured over a distance of 74 nautical miles). www.finn.no/boat/forsale/ad.html?finnkode=226515447

On a motor who runs a lot, an overhaul every other leapyear will do, if the motor get the right fuel and lube oil
It is possible to start the engine by hand if there is no air on the airtank
@@Haardberg Bicycle pump to recharge the air tank possibly?🤷♂️
By hand!
Ist das der Motor eineds Fischerbootes? HGibt ers noch mehrere Fischerboote mit dsolchen Motoren?

The pounding of that engine would drive me crazy.
You think it would ..but it is in fact a lullaby.... once you have experienced a trip on one of these vessels you would know ....I know... :-)

Understandable, it’s not an Iphone app.
Wonder how hard it would be to start in cold weather.
Terrence Bradley The engine starts easy even in the winterseason. I just add some(up to 30, depending on outdoor temperature) seconds to the glowtime.
Is it Russian? If so it’s not affected by the cold.
Not Russian, but Danish. Delivered new from factory Hundested Motorfabrik A/S back in 1970.
Das ist ein Ohrenschmaus in welchen Hafen liegt der Kutter?
Gerd Schirmacher Home port of this boat "FN.47 Ella" is Holmestrand in Norway.
Bei uns in Heligenhafen oder in Neudstadt gibt es nicht mehr solche Motoren. Schön, daß Ihr noch soetwas habt.
