The great Arrogate has been able to pass on his high cruising speed to his sons and daughters. 3 crops, 3 classic winners in Secret Oath, Arcangelo and now Seize the Grey. What a privilege to be like a fly on the wall listening in on a semi private chat between the Coach and Bob Baffert!

Sean: a few months ago I mentioned my high school buddy and I were going to catch each of the "Triple Crown" races in 2024. In your experience-how many people see each of those races? I'm talking about folks not affiliated with the horses or sport in any professional capacity-just horse racing enthusiasts. Would you ballpark that # to be a thousand? 500? Less? We will be up to Saratoga by Thursday, June 6 and will look for you. My buddies dad was a trainer at the Finger Lakes Track (that you covered) back in the 1970's and 80's. Thanks for all the wonderful coverage 🐎
There’s quite a few that attend all three but I’m sure it’s not a large number. It’s pretty amazing experience to do so, I’m glad you’re making it happen this year!

Mcpeek Said MD Will Go to The Belmont?....He Was Skeptical of Even Running Him in Preakness
He won’t decide until closer to the race, but Mystik Dan heads to Saratoga tomorrow. Regardless if he runs in Belmont, he is going to spend summer training and racing at Saratoga.
I still love you Mystik Dan and if you had to get beat I'm glad Coach was the one to do it. BTW that horrible thumping music before and during the post parade was giving me a headache so I had to FF to get to the start.
Imagine what it was like at the track lol. The worst was when they kept playing it during the undercard races.

The trainer of MD should have told the jockey to go to the front immediately and challenge anyone for the lead instead of being conservative hoping to rally through the stretch.

I agree. Mystik Dan broke well and wanted to go for the lead. Reminds me of last year’s Preaknesss: National Treasure took the lead early on and every other jockey thought they could catch him until it was too late.

So sorry NYRA as apparently screwed up Belmont Park to the point that my legendary track that I grew up near is unable to facilitate the third leg of the triple crown this year. They all should get fired.

Great job by Seize the Grey. That said, 51 years later and Secretariat's time still holds. The time difference would have Secretariat winning by 18 lengths.
