I had this TSB done by previous owner and car started throwing the driver’s side code years later. I cleared the code only for it to come back. But I did notice when it did come back I had left car running while I checked my mailbox. As soon as I opened door to re-enter, chime sounded and airbag light came back on. Upon investigation at door wires in rubber boot, I found broken wires/broken insulation. I ordered some silicone insulated wires and new terminals and repinned the connector and butt connected wire’s further into door after removing inner panel and door skin. Cleared code and hasn’t returned since. Hopefully this should be a permanent fix for my 17 yr old car (2006 VW Jetta TDI)
I believe it's the passenger side seat that is triggering my airbag light on my Dash because my father got in the car to sit and the airbag light went off in the dash but then came back on. Is this something I can fix without any codes? Thank you
Hey, I was taking my steering wheel off (i was replacing the steering wheel module), and there were some problems the 1st time, so I had to do everything again.. After the 3rd time (I finally fixed problems with steering wheel), the airbag light just appeared in the middle of the ride (It didn't start when I turned the car on). The error is 01217 - Side bag igniter - front driver side: upper limit exceeded. I was wondering, could that be the same problem you're explaining in the video, or there's a chance that I screwed something on the steering wheel (airbag connectors - even though they look fine).. sorry for the bad english
I had my 2007 beetel fixed the heater core replaced & when I picked up my car the air bag light was on ...no codes read on my code reader the mechanic said the code is alright like that but it wasn't like that before they worked on it...if I'm gonna take it back How long should it take for them to fix it ?because I'm not leaving my car there...
Where exactly is the connections that you show in the video. I could not tell where to even look for these wires. Any help would be appreciated. Mine shows a G180 as the item identified. My car is a 1999 VW TDI ALH Beetle. Thanks ... Robert
Thanks for the video. I have today, randomly got the yellow airbag light and a warning light for the electric parking break. Both car on at the same time. Does anyone know if both of these wires/connectors are next to each other?
Hi I have on side which the wires are brown black and blue and the other side brown green and white I presume brown goes to brown so is it blue to white black to green Or. Black to white and blue to green
i have the same issue. i removed the driver seat a saw the yellow plug where the wires are. My issue is that i dont know how to remove the wires from the yellow plug. Its like they are crimped in there real good. Does anyone know how to remove the wires? Or do i cut them out?
I Soldered and heat shrunk the connector seat to body but light came on again, So I did the Seat to Seat wire and its gone, really poor of Audi to have such a stupid fault. FYI this would also work if you sued bullet connectors plus minus for each wire so you never mix them up. Another tip, Check where the wires go, the colour coding is different on different cars, ie VW and Audi and Audi A4 and A6. So watch where the wires go!!
Bro ive got air bag checklight after i install new radio player on my mk5 ive checked all socket in the central unit its all in place whats the posibble problem im facing?
@@mazpr2025 what does replacing a seat cause? Are you saying the used seat was damaged, the used seat belt connector wiring was damaged? What model of car? Dud a broken used seat cause a new problem? What is a calibration? What model of car can be calibrated? Be precise.
Short and sweet that’s the way these videos should be. Great Job
You did not mention where that second connector in the floor is located .

Thank you very much! For me it worked like a charm!!
Glad it helped!
Thanks for the quick video. Will try this tomorrow. Best part of the video is the Miata, though!

Really good video - Short and sweet. It's just a shame though that the dealership opted to use green tape for the airbag connector bypass/fix: Idiots!
Will this also apply to a 2003 VW Passat? Says my passenger side airbag igniter is faulty.
I got those code DTC, 00595, 01226 what should I do buddy.
What should I do if I have "short to positive" how do I fix it?
Also intrigued to know the answer 🙏

This worked for me. Thankyou!
What about for 01218 - Side Airbag Igniter; Passenger Side (N200) : 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - Intermittent - MIL ON?
Did you fix this issue?
@@khalidmahmood8466 Yes I fixed it, it was a damaged wire from the A/C recirculation cap.

WHAT DID YOU DO TO FIX IT PLEASE?
@@mohammedamer7896 It seems as though he does not care to answer our questions.
Could you confirm which colour wire goes to which when you cut out/bypass the yellow connector? I'm trying to pause but it's not too clear
Just look at the plugs and see which wires line up together.
does anyone know about code 01738 driver airbag crash senor open or short circuit?
Where the heck is this thing lol....
Under passenger seat

Did you scan it and see what codes came up?
@@CashedOutCars its 01578 i just erase the code using my friends scanner and its all done guess it needs a scanner to erase 🥲
Nah just need to clear the code for airbag. I think its normal to clear airbag fault code once u take it off the central aircon vent unit 🙃
bad vid man did not fix
I’m sorry it didn’t do it for you, this helped lots of people fix their issues, but it won’t fix it if there are other issues too
on some instances the airbag sensor needs to be replaced or recalibrated (usually when previous owner replaced the passenger seat).
