Somehow interesting. I just can’t seem to find any interest at any possible use of a pocket square, in any normal not formal or celebrative situation: unless for a special occasion, a celebration, a Sunday gathering, an aperitive on holidays, no informal every day situation would make it appear less than a pretentious overdressing item, a bit like a lady secretary wearing platform high heeled sandals at the post office on any normal Tuesday, to give you an idea. In Europe at least. Still I like very much the item.
This channel always finds a way to strike the perfect balance of being usefully informative, while also highlighting things in your store, and yet not making it feel like one long commercial (like some other channels). Other RUclipsrs should take note, this is a master class on how to do it right!
I LOVED this video! I really like pocket squares and am saving up to get some of those from Fort Belvedere. They look sharp! Thanks for the video Sven!!
A week ago, I thought the squares were...Well...I thought they were FOR squares. Four days ago, I quarantine bought half a dozen. Now I'm looking at vids, and practicing folds.
I’m trying to find out the color of the jacket Raphael wears at different times throughout the video, it’s double breasted, it looks light blue or bluish green, I want one like it, it seems to go with everything, I can’t seem to find one. Raphael has such great taste in clothes. That’s why I’m always coming back and watching his videos.
Hello Raphael, I love your videos. Is it possible that you could make a video about your tie collection? I admire your great sense of taste and I honestly have copy some of your outfits. Regards and love from Mexico
"other than orange, i'm a big fan of yellow pocket squares" *holds up $500 worth or more of just yellow pocket squares 15 mins in of showing pocket squares* LOL i love it . Very inspirational. After years of collecting ties (and not cravats) I've started my pocket square collection. I went from only having 1 for the past 5 years to now 6! 2 soft silk cream that matches mother of pearl buttons are a great addition to also having plenty of white cotton or linen.
Excellent video, Raphael! Not to mention, outstanding collection. A bit off-topic, but are you into cigars at all? If so, could you make a video about them? Their history or the difference between different wrappers, flavors et cetera.
I'm new to pocket squares. There is definitely a top and bottom. Do you always display the top or could you display the bottom for a more muted color profile?
Is it okay to use a pocket square for cleaning one’s glasses? I have prescription glasses and I would probably like to use a pocket square for cleaning them.
pocket squares are more often a finer material more for aesthetics while a handkerchief is sturdier meant for its practical function such as to wipe glasses if worn, aid a upset woman crying or to wipe your hands. hope this helps
I don’t think cultural appropriation is relevant. If a man wants to wear a kilt, let him. Same goes with any person to any culture. Doesn’t make one go against his or her origin, but rather, it shows admiration to that culture and what it represents while still looking classy
Not at all, I know a few Englishmen who've been told to wear kilts to their weddings by their Scottish brides. No-one up here really minds, at least not in my experience.
Being a woman, I'm thinking that the plain pocket squares that have rolled edges or with minimal embroidered accents would be extremely easy to make! If a person owns one of the fancy sewing machines, they could crank out some very unique and inexpensive pocket squares very quickly!
Do you ever suggest wearing pocket squares in single-pocket dress shirts without blazers ? Say with a cravat (matching or non-matching), in a business casual or smart dress environment? Or is it just meant for blazers or suit jackets?
Would one ever use a pocket square apart from as an accessory; i.e., you have a pocket square in your jacket on a hot day and your forehead starts sweating a bit. Would it be ok to take it out to wipe one's forehead and then put it back, or are pocket squares nowadays simply not used like that practically anymore?
This is the only purchase I find nearly impossible to make. i can get paying for top-quality shoes and clothing that will last. I also think pocket squares do set off an outfit and look amazing, But i just cant bring myself to pay $25-$75 for a small square of fabric. I find the cost ridiculous and in no way reflecting its actual worth. I promise you a square of linen, wool or even silk is not nearly this expensive if purchased from a fabric store, and that's by the yard! This is one item ill have to find used in thrift shops or not at all. I may start making and selling them. They are extremely easy to make with only the basic Home Ec knowledge of a sewing machine and even good material isnt that expensive in bulk. Its obviously a high retail value item!
wow 25 min for only pocket squares. wonder how many was the total number. anyway, i think warm bright colours like red/orange etc don't work well with shades of brown. case and point - your pants and footwear. but that's just my opinion.
I haven't purchased a pocket square in 15 years. I have adopted a joke I saw Dean Martin use. I utilize ladies underwear. Yes, panties. Infinite appropriate fabrics, colors and patterns. Red panties, black suit, white shirt. black straight or bow tie. Navy blue with small white polka dots is a tight pattern. Paired with a dark grey suit, white shirt, dark tie. This will happen to you. I'm in a high end cocktail lounge and some one will grab your "pocket square" saying, "I'll show you how to fold it." He snaps it to its full shape. Everyone sees it and bursts out laughing. Your next line, "No wonder she had trouble getting dressed this morning!"
How to spot a sartorial nitwit: Finds a 25-minutes video on pocket squares not interesting or too long. Raphael's wardrobe is of course outstanding, the two pieces I am always looking at in awe and admiration are the teal suit in this video and the tweed houndstooth quilted jacket.
Your average t-shirt enthusiast: Bruh, all this guy is doing is showing off his silly little cloths with dumb patterns 🤡 The average gentleman, and exquisite menswear enjoyer: Yes, these pocket squares are quite fine I might say. I respect this man's beautiful collection and am interested in purchasing some for myself. 🧐
I just wanted to know different ways to fold it not dress up like little Lord Fauntleroy. Tell me would it be gauche to store my pocket sqaures beside my fainting couch? 🤣
A 25 minute video on pocket squares, dreams really do come true!
Hamish Harper 😂

A week ago, I thought the squares were...Well...I thought they were FOR squares. Four days ago, I quarantine bought half a dozen. Now I'm looking at vids, and practicing folds.
How do you store them?
one of the shallow drawers in your custom exotic wood paneled closet.
I keep mine in a brooks brothers box. The kind they gift wrap a shirt in.

Sven, do you recommend storing squares folded up or opened up?
Hello Raphael, I love your videos.
Is it possible that you could make a video about your tie collection? I admire your great sense of taste and I honestly have copy some of your outfits.
Regards and love from Mexico
Yep, the problem is I have too many for 25 mins so we have to come up with a different format
"other than orange, i'm a big fan of yellow pocket squares" *holds up $500 worth or more of just yellow pocket squares 15 mins in of showing pocket squares*

Gentleman's Gazette Thank you very much for the reply! I am looking forward to the videos! Have a wonderful day, sir!
I'm new to pocket squares. There is definitely a top and bottom. Do you always display the top or could you display the bottom for a more muted color profile?

Not at the moment although we have an extensive beard guide on our website.
A good colour for a pocket-square to the suit/jacket and vest with the light blue shirt ? 😊 (on my profil-pic.)
You looking good Raphael!

Thank you.
Can you make a video about hpw to wear brown shoes with jeans?
Is it okay to use a pocket square for cleaning one’s glasses? I have prescription glasses and I would probably like to use a pocket square for cleaning them.
Pocket squares are decorational and not functional so no. Instead use a handkerchief
You dress very elegantly, Very nice videos
deadPool there is only one God & you shalt not take his name in vain.
25+ minutes on pocket squares is a bit much even for people like you and me, Sven. Beautiful collection, all the same.
1:33 I cant find those pocket squares in your shop
What’s the difference between a pocket square and a handkerchief?
pocket squares are more often a finer material more for aesthetics while a handkerchief is sturdier meant for its practical function such as to wipe glasses if worn, aid a upset woman crying or to wipe your hands. hope this helps
Fredia X snot
Glove collection
YES! Would love to see that.
How about your kilt collection? It IS classic menswear, after all, and should be part of any complete wardrobe.
I can't tell if you're joking or not, but isn't it a bit inappropriate to wear a kilt if you have no connection to Scotland?
Thomas Richardson Englishman here. If I wore a kilt in front of a Scot, id probably be killed.
I don’t think cultural appropriation is relevant. If a man wants to wear a kilt, let him. Same goes with any person to any culture. Doesn’t make one go against his or her origin, but rather, it shows admiration to that culture and what it represents while still looking classy
I absolutely disagree, if you're not kidding.
Not at all, I know a few Englishmen who've been told to wear kilts to their weddings by their Scottish brides. No-one up here really minds, at least not in my experience.
You are a pleasant and professional classic menswear influencer
In Singapore I will perspire as it is hot and humid
do you recommend ironing pocket squares
I like the g.g. pocket squares but I’m sorry the prices are a little steep.
Wow... didn’t notice how many you had or how many you need.
Being a woman, I'm thinking that the plain pocket squares that have rolled edges or with minimal embroidered accents would be extremely easy to make! If a person owns one of the fancy sewing machines, they could crank out some very unique and inexpensive pocket squares very quickly!
What is the brand and model for the white silk pocket square?
What's the verdict on a pocket square in a waistcoat top pocket ?

Moonman Huckabee Sanders Why did you translate my comment? Raphael is from Germany, and he can speak German...
Does anyone know a good place to purchase decent Squares???
Have had the intro music stuck in my head for the last week. Interested in buying a pocket square but I don’t want to break the bank

Anything pertaining to my wardrobe

how to spot cheap one and expensive pocket square??
Would one ever use a pocket square apart from as an accessory; i.e., you have a pocket square in your jacket on a hot day and your forehead starts sweating a bit. Would it be ok to take it out to wipe one's forehead and then put it back, or are pocket squares nowadays simply not used like that practically anymore?
Marco da Vinha It is solely used as an accessory: using it the way one would use a handkerchief is generally considered a faux pas.
Yes, use it, wash gently by hand cold water.
Let’s see a tie collection...
What do you think of the microfiber pocket squares? Thank you for the informative video!
I have an address where you can send the ones you don't use much.

Another reason for wearing a pocket square: use it as a bandana when you need to rob someone
Paper The Producer is that what you teach the anti aristocracy rebels in El Salvador?
Most men have exactly 0 pocket squares.
