Are there any cold hardy varieties like brown turkey, hardy chicago... that do wel in semi shade, or do they all need full sun to ripen best? Btw love your videos, grtz from belgium.
They really need as much sun as possible in my climate. I look for shorter season figs ... figs that take less days to ripen. Off the top of my head; Improved Celeste, Angelos Dark, White Texas Everbearing
Brown Turkey is prob due to people being familiar with it. And grow in a lot of areas' People don't know better. I liked my Brown Turkey but, I am waiting for my VdB, Black Mission And dang it will be next year but, BM.
There are a bunch of different kinds of brown turkey. California brown turkey is the one that sucks. Southern Brown turkey is actually quite good.
