Please- What/whose redcap battery bundle device is shown at 4:25? It might be what I’m looking for. After so long of my world view - Don’t-know-what-I’m - looking-for, I don’t know what I’m looking at. Amazing journey-man attention to detail. Thanks for sharing.
What's the secret to getting the wiring through the firewall on one of these things? I have an 07 Tahoe, and I ended up running everything through the drivers door grommet (which I hate), because I couldn't find a good pass through point! The sound deadening on these trucks is great for road noise but a royal PITA for wiring up equipment...it seems like there are multiple layers to the firewall with space in between. Any advice would be much appreciated.
Ah, why not? With today's technology you don't need to drill holes in a roof to get good lighting. Why not go all interior? We don't need those big nasty lightbars on the roof anymore. Done.
SIRENNET is it true the longer the wire you run the longer it takes for the circuit to get to where it's going? And on my 03 grand caravan, can add extra stuff, like auxiliary fuse boxes to run, a trailer wiring harness off the battery instead of the circuit of the breaks, running lights etc, it has a inline fuse, Can that run your battery dead?
Only 3 years late, but electricity flows at the speed of light. So unless your length of wire wraps around the earth several times, the delay will be almost immeasurable. As far as your other one goes, I'm guessing you mean it's a direct connection from your battery, through a fuse, straight to the accessory? In that case, if the accessory is drawing any current at all, there is a chance for it to drain your battery. How quickly depends on the amount of current being drawn. It would be wise to install a ignition triggered relay to cut the power when the engine is off.
Just gotta a few questions, how do you usually choose the equipment to install and where do you usually get the radio antennas and by which specifications do you get them? Thx.
For the lights, usually the fire department and dealer talk to each other on what they are looking for on their new vehicle. Then, the dealer decides on what lights to use. As for the radio antennas, it depends on where your town is. How large it is, how many woods are there, etc.
It's not a must, but a slide-switch is definitely nice to have. Plus it can save having to turn on the siren separately if you wire it up so its auto-on in position 3.
Many states are outlawing this for "non law enforcement" vehicles. There is NO reason a non-cop car needs to hide their lights. One 360 type light should be on the roof at least. From far away you can see overheads very well. Not so with interior lights each the size of a mans wrist. A lightbar would have been better and probably cheaper. In California, a mandatory steady red can be inside, but emergency vehicles except those maintained by law enforcement agencies are forbidden to mount interior emergnecy lighting.
I have few questions! I have a 2015 Mercedes C300. I want to know if you can installed emergency lights on my car. I wanted lights on my visor, back window front and back hideaway lights. And have sirens installed? I needed for work! Can you pleased let me know how much it will cost and how long it will take to get it done? And what kind of lights do you recommend for it? White and amber color.
Y’all done did a Fantastic job. 👍🏼
Thank you kindly :)

We'll see if you can offer you some tips. Please email us at: info@sirennet.com and address it to Chris' attention.
Hmmmmm why would you want to use an interior lightbar on a fire vehicle?
Yeah, I normally don't see interior lights on em. Mostly a lightbar on the roof with grille lights.
These folk only do what customers want and yes sounds odd.

prob because it would be illegal
Because at our station we are not aloud to run exterior light bars all must be interior

How can I install LV100-l9 visor light bar inside my 07 Tahoe. Can't seem to get it right
James Boyd We're not familiar with Part number LV100-I9... Could you please tell us who make this Visor Light?

ONE of the guys washing the car seems to be quite unhappy :D
What is that opticon thing in the windshield below the visor light?
The Opticon is what changes the traffic lights so only the fire chief has a green light. Not every traffic light has this function.
Good job
I have a question. When doing a slick top, would you recommend a slide position controller or a regular switch box?
It's not a must, but a slide-switch is definitely nice to have. Plus it can save having to turn on the siren separately if you wire it up so its auto-on in position 3.

didn't realize fire was allowed red /blue
It's allowed here in Oregon. If you go north to Washington, it's not authorized for Fire use.
