I saw ZZ Top back when Gibbons had no beard, short hair and wore a cowboy hat. I went to see Deep Purple and ZZ was the opening act. Despite me being a Purple fan The Top was the better band that night and I became instantly a life long fan.
Phenomenal! Love the smile on Tal's face - being able to play at this event with so much talent...I'd say lucky girl, but it's not luck, it's her talent that got her there!
Austin, Texas ~ 1969-70 Billy & Dusty {RIP} sporting cowboy hats! Never had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Beck {RIP} or Ms. Tal... maybe in Heaven. Much love ❤️ Y'all!
Beck has spent the later part of his years playing with and highlighting new and old talent. One of the five founding fathers of modern rock - post 50's. Clapton, Beck, Page, Hendrix, Van Halen. Beck is still revered and still playing and it does my heart good. I love the way Beck is so generous on stage and allows new talent to shine in the sun. Old talent just makes it that much more fun! Rock on.
ya had to be there! we are so blessed to have been able to grow up during the time when these legends was beginning and to grow old with em. it just blows my mind..everyday is a blessing.
Without a doubt.....Two of the best players on the planet.....Billy is so damn good....Jeff is in a place all of his own, who knows where he will go next.....His whole career has been an evolution.....
Touching Tribute to Greatest Unforgettables Jeff Beck 🎸 and the Teacher Jimy Hendrix 🎸🎼🎶🎵 Foxey Lady is Amazing Song ✌️ one a my favorite 💓 RIP JIMI and JEFF ✨ Now spiritual playng in Heaven 🌌 with Angels 😇 and for we all 🎼🎶🎵 Forever 💫
I love Billy G as he was THE player who made me buy a guitar and teach myself to play. Also I'm a huge Jeff Beck fan and love his playing. And the ultra talented bassist Tal Wilkerson, just love her. This combo really works for this song!! (And anything else they would play as well. ) 😎🤟👍😎
I love it. It makes me want to go to my favorite Shimmy Palace and watch the Girls dance to it. The Dollars would fly while they shake the paint off the walls. Great video. 😁
It's okay we're only human and as humans we naturally slow down. But if a classic artist is still alive people want to see them. Remember that old song, "There's nothing like the real thing" For me it's still a thrill (although I've worked in music forever) to see original artists. Anyway I thank you for being so kind and apologizing, you must be a great girl.
It does not get any better than this folks. Add in my man Clapie, and you have the best of the best. Period. And I thought, a fitting tribute to the originator. Jimmie is gone but his music will live forever!
you can see more of tal with jeff beck at crossroads 2007. she was 19 or 20 then and just like here more than holding her own. just enjoying the hell outta being onstage with these heavyweights ! she is such a force to be reckoned with, and you'll be seeing her realize it. she's aussie btw.
Claudio Cisneros True. But Tal had only been playing bass for 5 years when she joined Beck, and that was at Vinnie's suggestion, so obviously he thinks a lot of her playing. Meanwhile, Vinnie had done years with Zappa, Gino Vannelli, Sting and so many others. My point - really - is that Tal is one of the most musical and relevant players we have seen in years. There is no showboating, no gratuitous wanking - she just plays great bass. And looks like she's having fun doing it. So, I hear what you're saying, but as you say, Tal is 'incredible'.
SabuPtolemy Yes, rumours come and go... Not sure how much credence there is in that one. Regardless, she did such a great job in that gig. And if she could follow Vinnie's playing onstage (he's a busy lad), she should have no problem off.... But I've yet to see or hear convincing proof.
thats swagger from a down south texas boy right there. guitar tone is sick, voice like gravel mixed with whiskey, and style for ages. billy gibbs the man
Jeff Beck has been inducted 3 times in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! His first induction was the Yardbirds, in 1986 during the 7th induction at Radio City Music Hall presented by The Edge. His second one was The Jeff Beck Group in 1997 during the 18th induction and was presented by Bruce Hornsby. And his 3rd one was solo career in 2009 during the 30th induction, and was presented by Prince at Dolby Theatre.
And while I was "fishing for tunes" I found this little surprise of a gem. Jeff Beck & Billy Gibbons giving their version of Foxy lady, with that "Fox of a bass Player" who adds the bottom line in Jeff's band. Not too shabby a version if I may say. In fact it's SCHTONKING !
I've seen ZZ Top for free and for as little as a dollar. Got to The Moving Sidewalks also. Went to a party where Roky Ericsson was kicking around and crashing. Been following this band since before anyone outside Houston had heard of them.
Jimi Hendrix once said that Billy was his favorite guitar player. Jimi played with Moving Sidewalks, BG's band at that time, and was floored by his tight blues playing.
A song written by the best rock guitar player ever... ...who admired Billy Gibbons... who is playing with Jeff Beck, the best rock guitar player alive... and Vinnie Colaiuta in the drums, IMHO the best drummer ever (check out his improvisational work with Zappa) It doesn't get any better than this.
IT'S JUST GOOD TO SEE THE REAL MUSIC TAKING PRESIDENCE OVER TODAYS MUSIC. WHAT I WAN TO KNOW WHO IS THAT HOT CHIC BASS PLAYER SHE'S GOT IT.......................
i love the pic of jimi in the back, it makes him look like what he actually is, the beethoven of rock guitar playing, the best there will ever be, jimi had to be there, wthih si songs, just like some songs by the best band of all time where there performed by their peers, simon crosby and nash did it and jeff also, they played beatles music.
That EAug9 power chord is the cat's meow ~ hats off to Hendrix for converting a jazz chord to a rock chord. Gibbon's voice does the song justice and his classic lead lines are in good voicing. Jeff Beck is also slamming that chord in unison with Billy and adding his Beckian brand of lead guitar. Billy keeps the traditional Hendrix feel on lead while Jeff, always innovative does his own thing. It is a unique team effort. Then again, Foxey Lady fuckin rocks!!!!
I saw ZZ Top back when Gibbons had no beard, short hair and wore a cowboy hat. I went to see Deep Purple and ZZ was the opening act. Despite me being a Purple fan The Top was the better band that night and I became instantly a life long fan.
Their first two albums didnt sell well in USA
Wow! That was back in the Stone age....Lol
Gibbons voice is so freakin unique. I think he was the perfect choice to sing this song.
I just listened to this song 5 times in the past 2 days just to hear him say, "Comin to gitcha." All time bad mofo!
Phenomenal! Love the smile on Tal's face - being able to play at this event with so much talent...I'd say lucky girl, but it's not luck, it's her talent that got her there!
Still can't believe Beck is gone! What a great artist.
LOVE HOW MUCH FUN THE "BASS PLAYER" IS HAVING!!!!!!!!!!😎
She ROX IT, all the time! INTO IT! ♡

Yes I totally agree cause Jeff is my guitar God

What jacket is Billy wearing? What does it say on the back?
shows how talented Tal is, playing with Vinnie, Billy & Jeff & holding her own!
Without a doubt.....Two of the best players on the planet.....Billy is so damn good....Jeff is in a place all of his own, who knows where he will go next.....His whole career has been an evolution.....
That custom pinstripe detailing on Billy's Les Paul is beyond rad!

Problem is that people in my generation don't have the talent as these guys did; it's just not there.
Thanks, Jessi

Watching Tal play with Jeff will always be one of my favorite things...I love the way she just leans in and PLAYS!
You U.S citizens, you are blessed to watch concerts like this.
I have folkowed Tal's career for years...she is awesome!!!...always loved Billy's Texas Blues ...Beck has no Master but many worshipers...RIP
Wow - that is some rock royalty. Billy Gibbons, Jeff Beck, VInnie Colaiuta and the incredible Tal Wilkenfeld. RIP, Mr. Beck. You are a guitar god.
Two of the best!
Great group. Great cover.
I don't care if this was played in a different key, I thought it was great. Thanks for sharing.
You 💅 it
THIS NEEDS TO BE SHOWN TO EVERYBODY EVERYDAY OF THE WEEK - IT IS PURE CLASS
I love it. It makes me want to go to my favorite Shimmy Palace and watch the Girls dance to it. The Dollars would fly while they shake the paint off the walls. Great video. 😁
the drummer is crazy, the bassist is mad good, Jeff Beck is awesome, Billy Gibbons is the man and the song is GREAT.....what a preformance
The woman playing the bass is also a solo artist. Her name is Tal Wilkenfield and she's got some good music to her name.
@Furious Sherman Apparently Beck said she was the best bassist since Jaco Pastorius (of Weather Report).

Love Jeff's energy..he is so thrilled to be on stage with Billy...Tal is killing it on bass as usual...
Two of my all time fav. guitarists playing together. "nuff said.
It's awesome how their contrasting sounds and playing styles come together to make this song really come alive.

Then there's her solo on Cause We've Ended As Lovers on the show they did at Ronnie Scott's. :-)
two legends and one of the worlds best bass players. Who could ask for more?
Tal is incredible, but I think that Vinnie Colaiuta is waaay better drummer than Tal bassist
Claudio Cisneros True. But Tal had only been playing bass for 5 years when she joined Beck, and that was at Vinnie's suggestion, so obviously he thinks a lot of her playing.
