    Thanks for the visit. I spent many hours in that library in the 1950's, and have many great memories of the town. Great town to grow up in then.

    thanks for the 'history' and commentary from Ray. I also grew up in Waukegan (born in 1947), lived on St. James Street alongside the Powell Park 'ravine' Ray refers to in this interview and stories, and attended the Carnegie library on Saturday mornings for much of my childhood.

    I used to love going to the old Waukegan Carnegie library when it was in use.
