    I've been a virgin customer since telewest blueyonder days. Had enough, looking to jump to CF in the next few days.

      Do it, you won't regret it.
      For Community Fibre, the service, speeds & ping times supercede Virgin in every way.

      Oh Telewest, how that takes me back!! Both them and Virgin had extremely poor customer service! I really cannot fault CF in any way. I have just carried out a video on ping tests between the two ISP's which you can find here; ruclips.net/video/jv_mVU004ks/видео.html

      @@unboxtechbytes it was either telewest or ntl back then. Then virgin bought them out I think.

      Best choice you'll ever make. I used to be with virgin before I moved to CommunityFibre. I got sick and tired of the thick coax cable they brought into my house, the rubbish upload speeds, the constant disconnects and rubbish router, oh and the ridiculous prices. I've been with CF for 3 years now, haven't had a single problem and I'm paying £20 a month for 150mbps which is so much cheaper than the rip off price of £48 with virgin.

    Been looking into community fibre and with this video am completely blown away by the difference! Only thing is that they have come out with a 3Gbps package for £49/month and I am wondering whether or not to get it since im not sure if i would be able to utilize the full speed on my PC. I spoke to a friend about it and they suggested getting a PCI-e network card but with a little digging around heard that they dont really increase internet speeds without a network switch and whatnot. Any suggestions or do you think the PCI-e network card will be fine?

    would love to see hyperoptic vs community fibre.
    Also would be cool to see how their pings are to the major server providers such as Amazon Google Microsoft so that gamers can get an idea of pings!

    I was also a Virgin media customer for about 14 years, decided to change. Am with Community Fibre, early days yet. Didn't have any tv boxes for a few days, not a good start.

    I don't know why Virgin still insists on pushing the Hub 3. It's done, it's old. Hub 4 at least should be the standard on all new connections.

    I’m also with VM on a 250Mb connection + TV + Phone and pay around £80 a month for that. It’s been 💩lately as our whole street has been getting internet dropouts. Luckily, CF is coming to our street so I will 100% be looking to change once it arrives.

    I have been with CF for about a month now and I am very pleased with the service I get. I have the 150 Mbps package.I have run speed tests a number of times and find that results vary wildly depending on which speed checker I use. Does anyone know why this happens?

    just switching over to community fibre now ! coming from virgin m125, i was thinking 150 community fibre would be sufficient? how much benefit is there going to be with say 300? do you feel
    the amazing upload speed, service and price...are all more thene nough reasons to change

    • @unboxtechbytes
      @unboxtechbytes  Год назад +1

      This all depends on your requirements. If you were happy with the speeds you were getting from Virgin then I would say go with the 150mb fibre. But if you have a family and more than 3 users on the network then I myself would look more towards the 300.
      I have not had any faults since joining Community Fibre, the service and speeds are phenomenal, especially the uploads. But it ends up coming down to your requirements as either a singer user or part of a multi-user family.I upload quite a lot to youtube and other platforms and the upload speed really shines in this area.

    community fibre installation workers are horrendously lazy.
    be careful if you get them. they gave bad advice to finish work early to an elderly lady, by installing the modem in the kitchen. they didn't bother to test it. didn't bother to install the phone. didn't keep the old phone number instead lost the old one potentially. among many other issues.

    • @unboxtechbytes
      @unboxtechbytes  Год назад

      @@rainsnow9174 There are a couple of way around this;
      1. If you have someone else living at the property then you can put a new contract under their name
      2. You could try moving over to Virgin Business and going for a broadband only package which should be less than the £51.25 you are currently paying and you get the bonus of money back if without internet for more than 24hrs.
      I have used both methods previously with success, but understand this is not a viable option for everyone.
