I've always loved that performance by Kenny and Lionel. To me, that was the real "Ebony and Ivory" representing a true merging of musial and songwriting talents. They were so much fun together, and clearly appreciated each other very much.

This is totally awesome! I just love Lionel and Kenny both but watching this video is heartbreaking. I cried for days when Kenny died last March. But I love this banter between the two of them. There's another video with the two of them explaining about how Lady was written. Don't know the name of the video but it was at his retirement party or something and Lionel is seated in the audience at first but Kenny has him come up with him. They talk about it then they sing it together. It is funny and heart warming at the same time.

Lionel Richie charted on the country billboard with "Stuck on you" and "Deep River Woman" Deep River Woman had backing vocals from country group "Alabama".
Those were some real brothers there, both in their life and at work. I love them both so much, each one for his own special unique talent and his artistic meaning that he gives to me!
The thing that I most loved - except from their, both, brilliant.. outstanding performance of _"Lady"_ - was that little _'conflict'_ of theirs up on the stage, somewhere towards the end of this divine song.. _"you should sing now!.."_ _"no, you should do that.. I just pointed my wife out.. I just pointed her out!",_ _"no man, you should do that eitherway, even if it says my name up there"_ and all that. 😂😘😂 Made me laugh so much and genuine momentarily.. and right afterwards, the next moment, I teared up so much😢, knowing.. and realizing, that we're never gonna see our beloved Kenny live again, in some show or whatever.

Kenny Rogers, Kenny Rogers, Kenny Rogers was SPECIAL. He was truthful and always sang from the heart. Kenny’s relationships were all truthful. Kenny with Dotty West was Special. With Dolly, it was Heavenly and with Lionel Richie Wonderful. His liking for Afro style of Lionel and the R&B in Lionel made him to take Lionel as his junior brother. Lionel respected Kenny so much but Kenny just wanted Lionel to see him as his Twin brother. Kenny people don’t know is a shy one. Oh Yes. I love their jokes and anytime I listen to Kenny’s SHE BELIEVES IN ME, with Lionel Richie, I am bathed in goose pimples. It’s sad Covid-19 didn’t give us the chance to mourn and celebrate Kenny. He still lives on. My only prayer is that, he is a Christian and that I would meet him in heaven to sing live for me and with the angels, LOVE LIFTED ME. May his soul rest in peace. Kenny, YOU ARE STILL DEAR IN OUR HEARTS. Kenny we love you. Kenny sleep on, sleep on, sleep on.
