Hey brother recently new to scooters I’ve been looking at your channel *Great video man* seriously! and I can relate to and what great info!! Finally someone who does a accurate range test by flooring it!
Yeah, some of these jerks in cars don't like electric scooter riders. You just got to love that lady 'You shouldn't be in the road.' I had a jerkoff this morning that wanted to speed up really fast behind me on a narrow road that had vehicles parked on each side as if he was trying to intimidate me or something with his car. People in cars and pev riders/cyclists need to be respectful toward each other so everyone can be safe while using the roads.
Ya people don't realize how dangerous cars, vs pedestrians/cyclists really are sometimes. They just get so used to driving but forget that they control a 2 ton moving piece of metal.
To be fair, many scooters/cyclist don’t follow the rules of the road causing accidents. Many don’t respect the rules of the road because many weren’t educated on the rules of the road. They also don’t pay tolls and the various other fees drivers pay to use the road that also hold them accountable when said accidents happen.
It's people in general, not just people who drive cars. Those jerks you speak of are the same idiots that ruin scooter and bikes for other people who are actually careful and respectful
Love the raw footage videos. Just you chatting around and riding around is very relaxing to watch. Love all the ways you try to break the scooters too. Seems like Karen was a little stressed 😂
Doesn't go fast but broke both main bones in my left arm when a car brake checked and laughed at me -_- Not the scooters fault, I love it and this is the channel that sold me on it. I already want the dualtron or whatever yogi steve mainly uses but as a dog groomer with 1 arm now I'm broke. Love watching all your videos over the past month even on the scooters I'll never see.
I enjoy your personality Ginger, you seem like a good person to get to know. I just wanted to say that I appreciate these scooter video's that you do, I love the range tests, especially when they are raw. I feel like I am out scootering with you. I messed up my scooter electronically when I hooked the polarity to the battery wrong, and so I haven't been able to go out scootering since April, sucks. I replaced the controller, but still no dice.
Sorry to hear that... Even after controller replacement it's still no dice?... Jeez. I wonder if you shorted out the motor or something. Have you checked the battery with a multimeter to check how many volts it reads?
@@GingerOnWheels Yeah totally. So then I thought maybe my throttle was fried, bought a new one of those too, the new throttle has no effect, so maybe original is still good. The power switch is turning on power to the whole scooter cause lights go on. I tested the motor with a lower 12V jump pack, just to see if the motor turned, and it did, bypassing the controller all together. My scooter is 36v, but lithium battery when fully charged is like 42v. Its about maybe 50% charged and is showing 38v. The controller cutoff is 31v. I was told a trick I can do, is use a paper clip or some wire, and bridge the two outer parts of the throttle connector on the controller, to see if the motor spins. I guess its possible that the wiring between the controller connection, and the throttle could have burned up, although I saw no signs of burnt wires at the controller connection. Is it possible for a fried 36v motor to turn on 12v all be it slow, but not turn at all at 38v? Gosh, I hope my motor is ok, thats like a 100 dollar part right there.
@@stellarproductions8888 I'm not sure if 36v motor would turn on 12 volts... Dang you're in quite yet the predicament there. It could be so many things. Trail and error / guess and check sound like your best bet. It sounds like you're pretty mechanically inclined so I doubt it'll take you long to fix, assuming you can get parts....
@@GingerOnWheels Hi Ginger, thank you for taking the time to speak with me, its much appreciated, especially since your a nice guy hehe. Yes, I am a small engine mechanic by trade, I fix small engines, tune ups, that sort of thing. But this Chinese scooter is in a different realm, I am pretty sure it comes from the 4th dimension, its had me stumped thus far. I even did continuity tests on the switch, seems to pass, which is confirmed by the lights turning on. Now that the seasons have changed, scooter riding is just about over now, so I will pick it back up next year. I got other projects to do. :)

Right when I was going to ask what you weigh in the comments you said it lol. I just ordered one of these, I'd imagine the range is going to be quite a bit more for me since I weigh right at 130-pounds.
What did your range end up being? I’m 170lbs and looking to ride it to work 7 miles one way. Lots of small hills along the way but nothing steep. Can charge it when I get there.
@@JustDrivinAZstill running fine? I want to get one for my 7 mile (one way) commute. I’d charge it when I got to work and ride home on a full battery. Just got one and it’s in the mail. Seemed like the best choice for the price range I could afford (it was actually a little bit over, as I started off looking at an on sale Segway E22). With this it’s less in the end then expanding the E22 with the additional battery. Too bad I can’t add an additional battery to this when I make some money, but it’s a whole lot better than walking.

You basically sold me a Hiboy s2 Pro and I've been having a lot of fun on it recently. These tires aren't bad at all-- On smooth streets you can really dig in hard and carve.
Definitely. Weight and physical size have everything to do with top speed. Obviously the heavier you are the slower you go. But also the larger your form factor, the slower you go. If you're wearing a big jacket or if you're just a really wide person, wind resistance can slow you down quite a bit.
ha ha effing Karen…….good for you for standing your ground, she was recklessly driving, great videos btw on this scooter, my wife and I decided to purchase these based on all your videos and assessment and expertise!
I picked up the emove cruiser last night (or rather very early this morning), and used your code! Thx again man & I enjoyed this video. Karen encounter was hilarious!
Nice! That was you! I was going to do a shoutout thank you to whoever that was in my next video but this will suffice: THANKS FOR SUPPORTING THE CHANNEL YOU ROCK!!
wow stay safe. I live In Washington state like you and i've had similar incidents but i dont ride in the middle of the road. Because of that, i saw Woodinville area on one of your videos, so figured you were in Wa. i've almost been hit several times by idiots not paying attention.
Nice video! I watched it all the way through. I just purchased 2 of these last night for me and my wife after watching a bunch of videos. Out of all the videos I watched the Hiboy S2 pro seemed to be the best fit for us. Im 6ft 224lbs. And I'm ready to put it to the test in these Chicago streets!!
I just bought a hiboy s2 pro for my wife and myself to cruise around with. We live in southeast Washington and it's pretty flat over here. We figured the scooters would be good for when we go traveling and need quicker transportation.
Man I was just gonna ask where it is you live and then you said WA. I miss WA ...Lived in Everett for about a year and absolutely loved it ! I've got a Ninebot ES4 that I've upgraded as well as done alot of repairs & upgrades on it myself and its an 800 watt that goes 30mph so its a blast👌😁...Im a 42yr old single mom who probably looks ridiculous on it but I dont care. Its like land surfing to me and its a blast! I dont care what nobody thinks. I dont wear a helmet either, kinda ruins it for me lol. I like livin on the edge.
I just placed my order for 1 yesterday. I have no idea how to ride it when I get it. In June I had reconstructive surgery on my right foot, so a little scared if I fall on this machine 😅
Take off the speed limiter you will accelerate a lot quicker! I've never really had any problems just people not noticing me when im trying to cross a crosswalk.
Love the videos, both with the music but also just the commentary like this one. I have a question about what the proper etiquette is when passing someone. I used to ride bikes, and we would say " On your left or right" But it was just a warning to them know we were approaching and passing.. NOT that you expect them to move out of your way. It was up to you to make sure there was room to safely pass. The pedestrian on the little off road part did not move.. and sounded like you hit elbows or something. And one person on the sidewalk did not move or didn't know where to move too.. And the person with earbuds in. Why do they have to move out of your way? They have as much right to the path or sidewalk as you do. It's not ok when cars blow by you without leaving the 3 foot. Or if you are riding in the car lane with no available bike lane.. which is legal.. They have to wait for you. Or pass illegally over a double yellow. Just wondering how this works. Again.. Love the videos...
Just wondering if the red button you have for the rear disc brakes come in kit that you can buy somewhere. My Ninebot did not come with rear brakes. Thank-you.
Injuries suck! But they do happen. Sorry to hear about yours. The best we can do is wear all the gear and try our best to ride safe. Hope you heal up soon.
"Do you need driving lessons" "Are you kidding me" Lmao people get so butt hurt if someone calls them out on their bullshit I feel like it's mostly an American thing.
Heya I have a quick question for ya! Do you wear any eye protection besides your glasses, like googles? (when not using the full face motorcycle helmet with eye shield) I wear glasses and I have a motocross helmet I plan to use with my 10x I ordered. I have a chain for my glasses in case they fall off. On my Kaabo Skywalker 8 I am fine with glasses only, but I know some people wear goggles over their glasses especially on faster scooters, do you do this? I don't plan to buy goggles but if glasses are not enough on faster scooters I will get them
Thanks for the tip about bicycles treating stop signs as yield signs here in WA. I had missed that. I am glad to see that my PEV rides just got much more legal. BTW, i resist the temptation to confront drivers about their stupid or dangerous driving. It doesn't really do anything to help them become better drivers and there are just too many nutcases out there who are willing to turn something like that into road rage.
@@GingerOnWheels Just recently ordered the pro. From your Vids, I am looking forward to my commute to and from work with it. Sadly, I will have to wait a bit more for the seat as it is still sold out. The 7-9 mile commute won't be too bad to work, but I will appreciate the sit when heading home.
Our city recently installed bike lanes and lots of these Midwesterners haaaaattttteeee them. Our town has attempted to attract more cyclists especially because we host a fairly large event so the addition of bike lanes are welcome by many but the few that hate them will absolutely you know whether on bike, scooter, trike. I personally think they are just entitled and often embarrassed because they don't necessarily know road etiquette and can't be bothered to learn it. 😬
Hey GoW - If price weren't a factor - Which would you say is better bang for the buck - the HiBoy S2 Pro or the Ninebot Max G30LP (noting the LP which has less battery but other benefits vs the G30). I'm leaning towards the HiBoy but value your opinion. This would be my first scooter.
The handlebar controls and steering tube on the G30 LP are much more robust than the highway S2. Also the self-healing pneumatic tires on the lp will make it a much smoother ride. You do however sacrifice the underglow lights and the reinforced rear fender that the S2 offers. It's really your decision at the end of the day but those are the only difference I can see right off the bat. I think the S2 pro offers slightly more value off the bat, but if something goes wrong with your scooter you can be sure Segway will help you, where HiBoy's strongsuit isn't customer service.
@@GingerOnWheels Thanks - wound up getting it (just arrived today). QQ (because there's no manual for the app). In advanced settings, you can adjust acceleration and braking. Right now they are factory default (both set at "1"). Is one the least sensitive or the most sensitive? Any recommended settings for those two sliders? Thanks!
Ginger - my daughters Xiaomi M365 was stolen just yesterday. With Covid I'd rather buy her a new scooter than put her in the Schoolbus, which where we live is super full. Can you suggest me an alternative Scooter for her? Legal limits in Austria is 650W and I would feel better if it had a mechanical break preverably in the rear. Any suggestions?
Emove cruiser from Voromotors! 600watt motor, 60 miles of range, adjustable height handlebars (perfect for a kid), along with built in headlight, horn, turn signals, and front /rear suspension and front/rear semi hydraulic brakes. If that's too much scooter, the Ninebot MAX is another good option 👍. Though, just one front drum brake, the power should still be plenty. If you get the Emove, I also recommend using a disc brake alarm like Tchipie or similar, along with a nice cable lock to deter future theft. Voromotors ships international and you can still get 7% off with the code GINGER7. I think. Anyway, those are the two scooters I recommend based on ones I've tested. Good luck!
I just bought one of these.. the brakes feel way to aggressive.. I feel like when I just use the manual brake it also engages the electric brake automatically and feels like I'm gonna get thrown over the bars.. anyone else have this issue? Suggestions?
The Karen tho 😂 I guess this thing looks fast because I have the gotraxx gxl v2 and it says 15 but I get about 12-14 mph. Saving up for something better electric scooters are so fun because I'm only 15 and can't drive yet
Looks an awful lot like my Segway ES3, which is a great scooter for just cruising around town... as long as you don't go near any hills. I weigh 240 and got 12 miles out of my ES3, on some hills, so I'm guessing 15 on flat ground. That's with the firmware hacked to remove factory speed limits and increase wattage going through the throttle... It went from maxing out at 15mph to 20mph.
There is an adjustment at break levers where the cable goes in. Should be a nut on there that you can adjust, cause it sounds like your levers are adjusting with too little play in them.
I would love to see move raw, uncut videos like this one in the future. Even more so if you can call out these dangerous road hogs like the Karen that tried to bully you off the road in this video. Even the police will often turn a blind eye to these types of transgressions as they too drive cars. We need more video evidence of driver aggression toward cyclists, scooter riders and anyone else brazen enough to try to share "their" roadways. I personally get whizzed, threatened, yelled, and bullied at least once per day, and often in front of police officers, who sit smugly waiting for commuters like me to react impulsively to remove us from the streets. Please make this a reality. Call out these a**holes, read out their license plate numbers, and post them for the police to do their jobs in enforcing the law and protect ALL citizens?
lol i watched this video for like 10 mins and said to myself "my god, this looks like bellevue / redmond...." and getting frustrated because i cant see license plates or anything Then Rapid Ride zooms by and a bellevue sign and... yeah it is bellevue / redmond lol
any idea what kind of bag could fit a large scooter? I have the zero 10x and my university technically doesn't allow us to keep scooters inside, and im trying to put it in a bag so no one notices.
@@GingerOnWheels yeah problem is that they won't let me use either the indoor or outdoor plugs for charging it either. you'd think universities would be more accepting of alternative forms of transportations... but sadly not. we are technically not even allowed to bring a hot plate/ stove or microwave into the dorms either. its insane
@@GingerOnWheels yeah but my home will be one of the university dorms. they wont let me charge it there or any of the other campus buildings. great videos by the way, yours encouraged me to get my zero 10x... even though i crashed it literally 2 days later xD

40:02 You just flew past that pedestrian and didn't give him three feet distance!!!!! Yet you b!tch when vehicles do it to you!!!!! Alrighty then, gingerbread ken.
A dude said he's getting 20 miles and he weighs about the same I can't believe him..I'm getting 14 miles on my s2r and I weigh 195 I'm surprised you only got 11 miles on the pro I was expecting about 17 like most ppl who got the pro..
If you continue with a career of reviewing scooters, there's a good chance you will video/document your own death - it will go viral - it will be on national news - you will become famous - and you'll probably get a high school named after you. So, you've got that going for you - which is nice. :) Good review - as always. (Yes, I hit the "Like" button)

Im really thinking of getting a hiboy for the commutes on the train and city runs.
How come in some shots the speedometer is saying your going 23 24 mph.?! I can’t get mine over 20mph. 😮
Love the videos, both with the music but also just the commentary like this one.
I have a question about what the proper etiquette is when passing someone.
I used to ride bikes, and we would say " On your left or right"
But it was just a warning to them know we were approaching and passing..
Even if you were wrong (which you weren't) doesn't give anyone the right to endanger you.
The people u drive by must think ur a psycho just talkin to ur self 😂
I don’t think they can hear him with his helmet on
Unless he had his visor up
@@x.vzoom_ ?
Just wondering if the red button you have for the rear disc brakes come in kit that you can buy somewhere. My Ninebot did not come with rear brakes. Thank-you.
Don't you just hate it when you come up with the perfect counter after the actual encounter is over?
hey ginger, would u let her go if she waved at u to say she is sorry for not waiting at the stop sign for u to pass???
Yes
Can you comment about injury. I got injured ridding this scooter causing my leg fractured which was very serious requiring surgery. Slipped on water.
Injuries suck! But they do happen. Sorry to hear about yours. The best we can do is wear all the gear and try our best to ride safe. Hope you heal up soon.
Dude you didn`t stop at any of those stop signs, sooner or later you will get ticket
Great video as usual. 👍 Anyway you could do a review on the Apollo Explore? I have heard great things but like your honest reviews.
Why does it look so fast holy
Its sub 20mph
@@GingerOnWheels Yeah I know but on camera it looks quick lol
This is why i love my max it never locks up and stops fast and quite smoothly if ill be honest
Ya! The Ninebot MAX has a sweet braking system, rear tire never locks.
At 0:55 normally it’s either underestimateing or over estimateing but it is a good gadge of how fast it will go tho
"Do you need driving lessons"
"Are you kidding me"
Lmao people get so butt hurt if someone calls them out on their bullshit I feel like it's mostly an American thing.
Humble brag here, but I've traveled a good bit of the world and America is definitely the only country with aHoles this dense. 🙄
It's a woman thing. Women must not be criticized, their egos can't handle it
Ordered an S2 Pro as more of a toy than commuter. Supposedly they quietly upped the motor to 500W. Was wondering if the one you have is 350. Thanks.
I like you, bro. Don’t fck w these people while you’re on a scooter. they may be off their meds.
I'm off my meds, too.
You can unlock the speed limit of that scooter like the xiaomi and how you do it???
Heya I have a quick question for ya! Do you wear any eye protection besides your glasses, like googles? (when not using the full face motorcycle helmet with eye shield)
I wear glasses and I have a motocross helmet I plan to use with my 10x I ordered. I have a chain for my glasses in case they fall off. On my Kaabo Skywalker 8 I am fine with glasses only, but I know some people wear goggles over their glasses especially on faster scooters, do you do this? I don't plan to buy goggles but if glasses are not enough on faster scooters I will get them
I just wear my glasses. No other eye covering. Its usually wet here, or I get sweaty, so anything on top of glasses fogs up anytime I stop.
Can you put a link in the description for the hiboy app cause I can’t find it
Thanks for the tip about bicycles treating stop signs as yield signs here in WA.
Sometimes I feel like I might be one with the screw loose 😜.
Pretty cool law about the stop signs though, eh?
you make good videos. I wish you did a full review on the regular s2 though.
I used to live in Redmond....now in Renton. Both great places to ride! Thinking about getting the s2 today!
I recommend the pro version! Worth the extra coin IMO.
Here in the Midwest our bike paths state "No motorized vehicles." On the signs.
@@-NateTheGreat ours doesn't allow motorized, but electric bikes and scooters are ok.
So no mopeds, dirt bikes, small engined bikes etc.
You’d think they would be happy to have less cars on the road. Too bad for them, cycling etc is only going to increase.
Hi, is it possible to disable the regenerative energy function?
Can this scooter be modded with a bigger battery like the Ninebots? Is the battery compartment door at the bottom?
Thanks!
@@craigbrockman7893 1 is the lowest setting. There isnt a drastic amount of change, but there is some. I always just ride around with them maxxed out.
Good luck!
@@GingerOnWheels Thanks, buddy!
@@karlmaurer2841 you should maybe consider getting her a better lock or a bag to take it with her this time
Just ordered this scooter and wondering if I made a mistake. I live in WV a.nd your hills we call flat land. Lol
curious how far it would go with me 115 pds xD
Great informative video, thanks!
I just bought one of these.. the brakes feel way to aggressive.. I feel like when I just use the manual brake it also engages the electric brake automatically and feels like I'm gonna get thrown over the bars.. anyone else have this issue? Suggestions?
why is the throttle on the left?
What apps do you use boss?
Where do you live? Looks beautiful there!
Greater Seattle area - eastside
Thanks for the reply and stay safe out there!
@@GingerOnWheels oh hey how convenient! Maybe lol, but I live in washington as well and I'm waiting on my (non-pro) s2.
You mention 2020 being a dumpster fire... Did you ever go to the CHAZ?
I rolled through it one night on my Wolf to scout it out, but didn't 'participate'.
Sweet Ride!
Do u know how to fix the brake issue with the wolf warrior?
My rear brake is locking up a little bit, then the throttle wont work
There is an adjustment at break levers where the cable goes in. Should be a nut on there that you can adjust, cause it sounds like your levers are adjusting with too little play in them.
What Stellar said. ^^ adjust the smaller nut on the brake lever.
Call out these a**holes, read out their license plate numbers, and post them for the police to do their jobs in enforcing the law and protect ALL citizens?
we just got the wolf warrior here in nz and i really want to upgrade my 10x now lol
It's a solid choice!
Apollo Ghost got coolest name:)
lol i watched this video for like 10 mins and said to myself "my god, this looks like bellevue / redmond...." and getting frustrated because i cant see license plates or anything
Then Rapid Ride zooms by and a bellevue sign and... yeah it is bellevue / redmond lol
any idea what kind of bag could fit a large scooter? I have the zero 10x and my university technically doesn't allow us to keep scooters inside, and im trying to put it in a bag so no one notices.
I don't know of any bag that big. Considered just buying a fat ulock with alarm?
@@GingerOnWheels yeah problem is that they won't let me use either the indoor or outdoor plugs for charging it either.
you'd think universities would be more accepting of alternative forms of transportations... but sadly not. we are technically not even allowed to bring a hot plate/ stove or microwave into the dorms either. its insane
Just make sure your scooter's fully charged before you leave the house and then lock it outside with a u lock.
@@GingerOnWheels yeah but my home will be one of the university dorms. they wont let me charge it there or any of the other campus buildings.
great videos by the way, yours encouraged me to get my zero 10x... even though i crashed it literally 2 days later xD
How to scooter keeping up is it wearing out??
Full review coming soon!
In germany scooters are only allowed to go 12 mph and you have to go on the road. All other PEV are banned.
Yep, Germany is strict bigtime. And I heard that Switserland band E-skate sports entirely!
@@stellarproductions8888 yes it is true (for public ground). But I heared they are more tolerant about it than germans.
I'm happy they don't do that here in New York City
@@bobbyakarob8857 New York hasn't a big car industry to protect.
18-20mph would be OK but 12 is way too slow. Do many people cut the speed limiter wire and go faster?
Hey I just got the hiboy max I really enjoy it it’s vary smooth
Do you feel like your getting high while riding it? lol I have to agree with Ginger, such a weird name to call a scoota.
Your videos are fab yo. I was looking at that on Amazon yesterday but I've settled for a New Max G30LP Segway Ninebot Max
@@stellarproductions8888 I know right, I got a hiboy and put a piece of tape over the logo.🤣
Is this the 350 or the 500?
yeah i get this feeling all the time when i ride my motorized rigs... sometimes i feel like just sell all the stuff i bought and be back on motorbike or normal bicycle...
I don't at all I'm bold af with mine i Iike the smoke though 🤷🏻♂️🤣
41:35 - guy is on a GTA mission.
40:02 You just flew past that pedestrian and didn't give him three feet distance!!!!! Yet you b!tch when vehicles do it to you!!!!!
Alrighty then, gingerbread ken.
He had moved off the trail to allow me to pass because he heard me coming. He knew I was coming, and I knew he was there.
Hi, I'm 5'3" am I too short for this scooter?
No
A dude said he's getting 20 miles and he weighs about the same I can't believe him..I'm getting 14 miles on my s2r and I weigh 195 I'm surprised you only got 11 miles on the pro I was expecting about 17 like most ppl who got the pro..
he said comfort mode 22 and a half miles. also the sr2 lol cmon that scooter sucks
Sweet! I'm game for all of that.
47:28 tell me I’m not the only one who noticed the bug on the screen
I noticed it while editing but decided to keep it in. As far as I know you're the first one to notice! Nice job paying attention! 🤣
Lmfaoo just watched it and i said the same thing 😭
LOL Karen made my day. Well also drive my car regularly I I had to get used to our e scooter explosion here in Germany but we all have the same rights and driving 2 tons doesn’t make you more privileged than others…. I hate those stupid people 😂
I'm more of a 25 mph scooter kind of guy. And 20 mi range. Nice scooter for the price but I'll stick with the Apollo explore. Nice review 😁
Relaxing 🙌
Aghhhhh! I HATE BAD DRIVERS! I get it all the time. It’s so aggravating!
That bell 🛎 and that beeping sounds erky
Riding on the sidewalk over the age of 13 is illegal here in NYC. It should be illegal everywhere! Pedestrians should have a sense of safety at least on the sidewalk from speeding modes of transportation. Big boys & girls should ride in the street whenever possible.

Mate I get beeped swerved at and spat on by the Karens here in Melbourne Australia.
You should get a shirt on a store and sell it. The shirt should say, on the back, scooters are street legal.
🤔hmmm. Not a bad idea.
The 1 thing I can say is that its illegal to ride these on sidewalks here in NM which is fine because I like to pretend I'm a car anyway. We are supposed to ride in the bike lanes and follow bike laws.
I live in New Mexico I have read the laws, and there are none regarding escooters and where you can and can't ride.
