Good work and interesting comments on the helmet. I have a Bell Super 3R with removable chin bar too. I had it removed on my cargo bike last year and came off at about 15kph on a wet bit of road down a hill. I've nearly finished paying the $9,900 (Australian) dental bill now and could have avoided all of that if I left the helmet in full face mode. I do this now on anything that moves - especially my Kaabo Mantis scooter, where I normally cruise at around 45 kph. So if you feel you have anything worth protecting above your shoulders, ALWAYS WEAR A FULL FACE HELMET!
Thanks for the ideas, great video. Loved the 360 footage. Since I fell from my e-scooter @35km/h I started using my Nolan motorcycle helmet on the scooter as well, together with knee protection. It was a tree root that lifted the asphalt into a little bump. Practically invisible without shadows on a cloudy day. Really scary.
@@SlammDunkProductions No serious injury thankfully! But I broke the stem and the fork of the e-scooter, fixed it for 50€. I guess it's a good excuse to upgrade the front suspension as it really sucks ahah. Yes, I learnt my lesson!

Hi Duncan, how do you get on riding around where you live for being hassled be the police and stuff? Do you get stopped all the time or largely left alone? I'm about to buy one, and I'm a bit concerned I'll get loads of hassle riding around on it. Love your videos btw, Peter.
Alright mate....yeah it just depends where you live I guess. Ive been e Scootering around Newcastle for years and now I'm living back up in Scotland. I've had no issues what so ever! Police here don't give me a second look. However I do know in some major cities they really clamping down on Scooters so it's probably a bit of pot luck at the moment. I stick to quiet places and keep of the main roads as much as possible. Cheers Peter 🙏

@@SlammDunkProductions Did you ever find out about a speedhack for scooters that had already had their firmware updated? Mine was updated by the previous owner, and even after a "reset" I don't imagine I'll be able to de-restrict.
@SlammDunk Productions: Just realised watching your review video. For some weird reason, my Xiaomi M365 Pro brakes keep on deteriorating, and the brake is not strong enough especially during the rain. I got it repaired and one month later it’s the same thing? Have you had any brake issues? Secondly, do you protect your top display module for rainy days where the button is? I also need to get an Android phone to get rid of the speed limiter I have an iPhone 😕
@@ameerali.ouarda actually to be honest...my brake doesn't work at all?...I pull the brake, I can feel it trying,. But no real effect. I just took for granted that I need to tighten it up but have been too lazy to do it yet. I think I will attempt it today and get back to you if goes well 👍 I don't protect my dash no. Trusting that because the scoot is waterproof/splashproof I don't need to worry. However I might at a red one for some style......yes Android is needed for the hack. But you don't need to own one. It's possible to just use a friend's Android to do the hack then just go back to using your phone. 👍✌️
Another well presented and produced video Duncan. Well done. You talk too much.. Never! Your honest evaluation of the items are well presented. I love the idea of the 360 camera. (something to put on my Christmas list). Well done mate. keep up the good work.
During the upload to YT process, when creating the timestamps for chapters. I noticed i had spoke about the PUMP for a whopping 3mins and 15 seconds, some people could have done the full Top 10 in that amount of time 🤣 but sometimes its difficult to cut parts out if i feel like its important info so finding a balance is sometimes tricky for me. Its nice to know my voice doent annoy everyone as much as it annoys myself 😀 Cheers David! 😊🙏
Another cracking video and loads of goodies to get hold of. I bought the GoPro MAX 360 as it was the only one I could find on finance but really wanted the Insta 360.....Too late now lol and regret it as any 360 3D videos are split into chapters that I cannot join together without spending £100's on software like Final Cut Pro X when I make videos for free? I just like making vlogs as a hobby and not for money but it seems like I am being forced to spend more money on third party software? Cannot find anything for free that does not render 360 3D footage as it all seems to render in 2D Flat footage!
AHH the GoPro max...I seen a few people using them when I was on hols last year. They must be pretty good though I'd imagine? Only because they are pretty new. If you used Adobe premiere then I know there are GoPro plug in for free that deal with all the editing of 360 video. It's the GoPro plug ins that insta360 even recommend using when ending in premiere. All those editing programs are expensive as fu*k it really was hard for me to edit videos for RUclips at the start because I couldn't afford anything. I had to use divinci resolve (which is great for free but still limited) anyway I went to Adobe eventually and just pretended I'm a student to get the student prices. £15 a month for Everything Adobe instead of 45. I use it a lot so I can't complain I guess. ✌️♥️
@@SlammDunkProductions I only went for the GoPro MAX as it was on finance but gutted as they split the files. Why split them and not give the function to join them again???? Adobe is again another extra cost for me as I do not make money from my Channel not that I could as I do not get the views lol, but that's not the point as I want to enjoy making my vlogs with the equipment I buy from my own pocket without having to buy expensive software and then an expensive computer to cope with it if I am not making money from any of my videos and do not intend to either?
Great video thanks. Me, 57 year old female from Denmark, love my new ninebot max30ld scooter. In DK we Can drive it on bicycle path. Now I need to go out and bye some of extra stuff 👍💰
Hey! yeah its a 360 camera on a selfie stick, the selfie stick is then attached to a clamp on the scooter. the selfie stick is not captured by the lenses so you get the 'invisible selfie stick' effect. All the controlling of the camera is done AFTER filming. the editing software allows you to frame shots in post after the fact. yeah its pretty cool. If you check out Insta360 cameras, they are actually VERY beginner friendly. They all come with an App for your phone that allows you to do the editing and cool effect on a phone so you dont even need a powerful PC to edit footage. :)
Great video. Very informative. As someone else said great work on the research so that we don't have to. Also it's good to see a fellow Scotsman on youtube. I've just started using a scooter ( aovo pro ) and am loving it. I am already looking for something more powerful. Do you have any recommendations for offroad scooters? Keep up the good work.
I appreciate that thanks mate 🙏 As for a more powerful scooter, well im guessign the Aovo Pro is 350w motor. Id just google for a 500W motor (at least) 500w motor especially if dual motor makes a huge difference and also copes with hills much better. One of my favourite budget scooter with a 500w motor is the Kuickwheel SC-1 pro. Its built like a tank and smooth as hell to ride...great at getting uphill. Might be a bit tricky to find in uk im not sure. Most of the scooters sent to me for review can be hard to recommend just because they not always available here. I have a nifty little thing from AOVO that im filming right now... The M5 Pro Scooter bike. Its really fun to ride and got a 500w motor...But its designed to sit down so a 6foot 2inches guy like me makes it look like its meant for midgets! but it still feels very confortable to ride. got beefy 12" explosion proof tyres and some great other features. think its going for 599 just now (brand new) like i say its not going to be for everyone because its like a cross between a scooter and a motability bike 😆
I you have the money for it, i would look up the “dualtron X”. I think its about the best scooter around now, but also very expensive ofcourse. The “zero X11” is also very nice, a little bit cheaper as the dualtron, but still expensive.
@@Zhai_Belgium I have a rebranded zero 10x...The Varla Eagle one. Just got it few weeks ago and upload vid yesterday 👍 ruclips.net/video/4jI_gZ48uAk/видео.html
Thx u you for sharing...have you tried elbow and/or knee pads? I wasn't a fan u till I crash so looking for ideas on which are the best protective gear to buy.
Not for Scootering, just use helmet but whenever I'm on the uniwheel I'm fully protected with pads. Finding good pads for cheap price was actually pretty difficult. Can't remember the make I have (I'm on a train right now so I can't look)...but yeah Amazon should have plenty to choose from. (Just pay attention to reviews) 👍
And really appreciate you talking about the importance of wearing a helmet. I think people tend to fall forwards on a scooter so wearing chin protection can save your teeth at least

bought t about 6 years ago in Bangkok. The MBK centre. So good luck with that one, ive been searching for them online for years because i want more myself. The shop had a million different designs, they were about £5 each. i wish i had got more when i was there. ✌
Great vidéo. I didnt know it was forbidden in the UK on the roads ...here in France you see them everywhere. One question : What do you recomend 1S or Pro? Thank you :)
I dont think there is much between them no? I mean i would pick the Pro, Even over the Pro 2. Only because the speed hack is easy to do on the Pro. But if the extra few mph doesnt matter to you then All Xiaomi Scooters are decent. I dont have any hands on with the S1 but i know its good 👍
on the gold standard lock you mention 5 minutes of sustained attacks from the most sofisticated tools, by that i assume you meant an angle grinder, but if you read the description of it it mentions large bolt cutters and a hacksaw
Sorry what exactly are you asking about...is it the suspension kit? If so the best thing would be to send an email to Monorim themselves. I believe the kit fits a few different Xiaomi clone style scooters but I'm sure on the names. Good luck with it ,🙏
haha yes i think about that all the time. especially if i leave it outside the supermarket, but thankfully nobody has touched it so far. im pretty sure it will keep going until the battery dies but im not 100%
Helmet...my no.1 priority always...mine has left and right indicators... one useful accessory i bought was an extender valve for the tyre valves...priceless..
Yeah I do like those 'smart' helmets. That one from Lival that has indicator's, speakers, Bluetooth and all sorts of shit..it's pretty cool and probs more suitable for an E scooter....an extender valve eh?..is that for the pro2 or another? It's something i might look into now that you mention it. Cheers skeelo69 👍
Yeah they are pretty expensive 😞 if it's something you think about in the future look for the ONE X. It's the one that came out a couple of years ago. The predecessor to the ONE R. It's pretty much the same but without changeable lenses. Probs half the price 👍 all the best mate ♥️
@@SlammDunkProductions its something I wouldn't mind filming. I had the original go pro hero about 9 years a go. Great video! However, as someone who just barely managed to scrape together the 360€ for an S1, there's no way i'll be able to afford these. So i'd like to ask you; 1. Which one (other than the helmet and lock) Is the most important? and 2. Do you have any good budget alternatives for the rest that work well and still don't compromise the scooter's safety?
Alarm and handlebar extensions are useful and less than a tenner if you look around I'm sure. I guess a 'proper' lock that will keep your scooter secure but they can be quite pricey for good ones. Some things are worth going cheaper, like (alarm, gloves, lights, handlebar extensions etc) but some things you want to pay for the quality. For example the suspension, I'd always recommend official Monorim kit's because some of the cheaper copies are dangerous. The metal forks bend because meterial is so thin and the suspension has no bounch compared to Monorim. Yeah I don't know what else to say I hope I've answered your question 🙂👍🙏
Bell 3M is wery good helmet I have her and its wery good and practical also chin guard is realy good and its stiff and safe it cost 300€ but I bot her 2019 I think that now is chiper but its like 2 helmet in one. And I must find that stem for mounting lights cos I hawe Vsett 8 and with phone I have not place on my handlebar. Thanks
Thanks for your real world reviews on escooter accessories. I've added the handle bar extension (my phone now mounts off the crowded handle bar), got the Seibertron Dirtpaw protective gloves and ordered the Bell Super Air R helmet. Will add some camera (probably the Insta360 ONE R) at a later date. I use my really old roller blade knee and elbow pads. Have you tested any knee & shin pads, and elbow & arm pads? I'm a 70 yr old geezer with my right hip replaced and my left starting to go - due to extreme sports when I was younger. I added the Ninebot Max seat so that when my hips pain too much, I can sit for a bit. The Segway Ninebot Max G30 lets me explore a lot more distance on trails than I would otherwise walk. Keep up the good stuff. Stay safe.
Hi! thanks for the feedback Charles :) As for pads it depends on your budget. i recommend "JBM Adult BMX Bike Knee Pads Elbow Pads Wrist Guards" or for less money "Gonex 6 in 1 Protective Knee Pads Set" just search amazon for those 👍
I order same alarm, but maybe i Will put inside battery compartment (just the print ect), maybe even add a power converter so its on the xiaomi battery.. I see on video there is room infront of the Controller.. It will make less noise, but still enough i think if its also zip locked to something
I have the hover pioneer, which is basically a knock off brand of xiaomi, but it's really good. I just replaced the tires with solid tires. I got brighter headlights, and some led light strips on the bottom. I got reflective tape on the side too. I want to buy another battery next to make it go further.
@@SlammDunkProductions yeah i have no clue usually it has to also do with weright im 80kg so im not sure if i should get more or less in it depending on weight
I bought the Xiami Pro 2 Scooter and there was just like u said way to less space at the bell for a phone mount, so i decided to take the bell off and swap it to the other side to have more space and than well my bell broke into 2 halfs, and right after that, i found your channel and this video and found out that there is something like a Handlebar Extension ... I’m definitely gonna buy the handlebar but i don’t have a bell now and can’t close my scooter too I’m frustrated and don’t know what to do now can someone help
ahh damn! ok well ive had a little look for yo on that replacement Bell....the cheapest one i can find is via WISH: wish.link/34zSQeq hopefully thats all you need (plus handlebar extension) and you are good to go! 👍👍👍
I didn't buy the monorim Front, I bought the twin shock, conventional type. Mine using both F & R suspension smooths out the ride by 35-40% ! ( huge improvement). Mind you, I'm an old Retired Mechanic, bad back, so a better ride mattered to me. I use mine as my Primary Transp, so I use it for everything from big shopping trips, to quick errands. Towing my big folding shopping basket, I can haul over 100lbs of groceries in one go.Ninebot Max G30.
@@SlammDunkProductions You should see what all I've done. Re-Engineered the rear shock lever arms, to increase dampen rate, beefed up the M4M Trunk, so I "could" tow over 100lbs, with up to a 50lb tongue weight. Next, I'm adding a heavier motor, and going to a 48 volt system. That way, my software hacking can get me up to the 30mph range, instead of just the 21mph now.
@@SlammDunkProductions No, but I've been thinking of doing one, to show my setup. Towing with my Ninebot is easy, as the basket holds all the weight. A good push at startup, and momentum does the rest. I will subscribe, so if I do post a video, I can let you know.
Alright mate, i been thinking about treatin' myself to a scooter recently and i notice you are riding around the Newcastle/Gateshead area. I'm wondering if you ever run in to any issues riding these areas (saltwell park etc.) with police etc. Thanks :)
Nah...it's been 2 year now and I haven't had a single issue anywhere!...I've always said to people "as long as you don't act silly or fly about on the main roads you will be fine"...and even further to that they have actually started trialing rental scooters in Newcastle now so I think things are Getting a lot better for us....yes it's still technically illegal to drive your own private scooter...but I'm certainly not 'renting' one when I have my own ☺️
yeah i hear that! its such a shame but hopefully things will change sooner rather than later. it kinda depends where you live right now and how you ride. Places up north, Like Newcastle and beyond dont seem to be anywhere near as strict or bothered as down south. Up here where i am the police wouldnt look twice other than to say to themselves "oh look i havnt seen one of them before" Just dont drive on main roads or do anything that draws attention and you hopefully have no problems. Good luck with it H4. thanks for dropping a line ✌
I got myself a pure air second generation e scooter, but it comes with this annoying bulky USB port on the underside of my right handlebar so I can't put on a nice extention for mirrors or other good things.. Anyone has a workaround for this?
No, there isn't enough clearing to fit between the actual steer and the USB case on the underside, unless I secure it with just one mount on the left side and wouldnt look even not to mention if it will be sturdy enough holding on with one grip.
@@sethirium9542 yeah probs not a good idea to try as you would deffo need to secure both ends...shame. hopefully you can find a solution I wish I could be more helpful. Good luck mate 🤞

Hello mate I bought mi electric scooter pro 2 and the battery capacity is 12800mah but when it’s 100% charge In the app in battery info it’s 11900mah what I do how I fix it? And some times it’s charge quickly and dried quickly? Just why???
Sorry you asking the wrong person mate. I don't own a Pro 2 it even if I did that would be a bit beyond.y expertise....best bet would be to ask on a Facebook page or Reddit. You will get plenty feedback I'm sure. Good luck with it Apple Man sorry I'm not of much use🤞🤞🤞
I believe that Xiaomi have limited the max charge on the Pro 2 in an attempt to extend the health of the battery at the expense max range. At least hat's what I read somewhere anyway. I'm not sure if there's a way to up the max or not. I don't know about the fast discharging issue. 🤔
The Pro 2 has a limit on battery charge capacity as charging to full is worse on the battery health in the long run. E-bikes and even electric cars do the same now. It should be possible to change this with a custom firmware

Really scary.
wow yeah sounds dodgy! Did you escape without injury? hope so mate yeah we live n learn eh? :)
@@SlammDunkProductions No serious injury thankfully! But I broke the stem and the fork of the e-scooter, fixed it for 50€. I guess it's a good excuse to upgrade the front suspension as it really sucks ahah.
Yes, I learnt my lesson!
That helmet looks so good. Thanks for the suggestion!
Thanks Tere. All the best ♥️
I like tha face mask at the end of the video when you where showing the helmet. Where did you get it from?

@SlammDunk Productions:
Just realised watching your review video.
@@SlammDunkProductions no mate not a bit . I must admit I have that exact pump from xiaomi and its brilliant.
Love your videos big thumbs up 👍
Thanks mate 🙏
Thanks you've given me some ideas for stuff for an e-bike like the alarm, the alarms and that disc brake thingy

Great video thanks. Me, 57 year old female from Denmark, love my new ninebot max30ld scooter. In DK we Can drive it on bicycle path. Now I need to go out and bye some of extra stuff 👍💰
That camera setup is really cool, nice shots. How do you control it while driving?
Hey! yeah its a 360 camera on a selfie stick, the selfie stick is then attached to a clamp on the scooter. the selfie stick is not captured by the lenses so you get the 'invisible selfie stick' effect. :)
Really good video, Thank you.

Not for Scootering, just use helmet but whenever I'm on the uniwheel I'm fully protected with pads. Finding good pads for cheap price was actually pretty difficult. And really appreciate you talking about the importance of wearing a helmet. I think people tend to fall forwards on a scooter so wearing chin protection can save your teeth at least

I dont have any hands on with the S1 but i know its good 👍
Wider Handlebars would be nice ?
on the gold standard lock you mention 5 minutes of sustained attacks from the most sofisticated tools, by that i assume you meant an angle grinder, but if you read the description of it it mentions large bolt cutters and a hacksaw
You know if this only fitst for the xiaomi? Bought a e wheel vs max and is tempted to get one, but not sure if it first.
Sorry what exactly are you asking about...is it the suspension kit? If so the best thing would be to send an email to Monorim themselves. I believe the kit fits a few different Xiaomi clone style scooters but I'm sure on the names. Good luck with it ,🙏
Thanks for the handle bar. I could mount my more powerful aura flashlight and powerbank/cell holder on it

That alarm system is pretty cool but what if someone touches it and you're away ? Does it stop itself after few seconds ?
haha yes i think about that all the time. especially if i leave it outside the supermarket, but thankfully nobody has touched it so far. im pretty sure it will keep going until the battery dies but im not 100%
@@SlammDunkProductions I was looking for such system and i'm glad that exists, but it should stop ringing once it's stabilised.

@@SlammDunkProductions its something I wouldn't mind filming. I had the original go pro hero about 9 years a go. Great video!
However, as someone who just barely managed to scrape together the 360€ for an S1, there's no way i'll be able to afford these. So i'd like to ask you;
1. Which one (other than the helmet and lock) Is the most important?
and

Nah...it's been 2 year now and I haven't had a single issue anywhere!...I've always said to people "as long as you don't act silly or fly about on the main roads you will be fine"...and even further to that they have actually started trialing rental scooters in Newcastle now so I think things are Getting a lot better for us....yes it's still technically illegal to drive your own private scooter...but I'm certainly not 'renting' one when I have my own ☺️
I rlly hope they make these legalised in the uk I got mine ride it safely but worried about getting it took off me and I got it a week ago today
yeah i hear that! its such a shame but hopefully things will change sooner rather than later. it kinda depends where you live right now and how you ride.
I got myself a pure air second generation e scooter, but it comes with this annoying bulky USB port on the underside of my right handlebar so I can't put on a nice extention for mirrors or other good things..

that sound a bit annoying....Can you not even fit handlebar extensions? something like: bit.ly/2WJJDPG

@@chuckwarchild3150 Aye that KingSong S18 uniwheel thing. I still have it. The wife HATES that i still have it. She always been telling me to sell it but im like "Thats the ONE thing i never got sent to me for free, i actually saved up for ages and blew £2k on the damn thing. Now cos of that accident it got all battered and probs not worth half of what i paid for it" She doesnt care lol but i have at least agreed to stick to 2 wheels from now on. (dont tell her, but when its sunny and she doesnt know i still sneak out on it for a wee while. Its too much fun not to! haha peace bro ✌
