    Hey author Pagetuner627 here! Thanks doc for narrating! And thanks everyone for listening. This is one of my favorite stories. I did my best to accurately depict Australian and Aboriginal cultures.

      Nope. I grew up in remote aboriginal communities. This story is really disrespectful to anyone who's ever
      1. Had a crash out bush. You do not treck in the middle of the day. The sun will kill you.
      A parks ranger always has an emergency becon on them for this exact scenario.
      She has survival training but doesn't know where she is, no back up water supply, no knowledge of local water plants, medicinal plants, or how to find basic shade in the heat of the day? This stuff ut taught to kids in primary school!
      2. Bunyips don't actually exist from that area in aboriginal lore. Besides, they only inhabit billabong and only hunt women whole they gather.
      3. That's not the behaviour of a Bunyip, nor the look or where you find them
      I'm all for people put of time stories, but if you're going to have a monster DONT trash somebody's actual living culture, especially when its actually the longest living culture in the world.
      Next time contact an aboriginal elders and actually ask them about the basics.

    G'day again from Tasmania, I have been waiting for a Bunyip story.

  • @helenwoods1467
    @helenwoods1467 17 дней назад +4

    Oh, wow. This was amazing! I remember the stories we were told by our teacher, wayyyy back when I was just a child, of the fiersome, mystical creature, back before the Bunyip was sadly transformed into a cartoon caricature of itself, now found in the children's reading books of today.
    I'm actually half German, half Canadian, but born here, in Australia. In a little town named Ouse, in Tasmania. My mother died in childbirth, as I came out in Taylor's position. That, along with her sped up labour, of only one and a half hours, ripped her apart. I remember hearing that it took over 8 litres of blood to bring her back, to stabilise her, until they could transfer her from the small country hospital, to the major one in the city. I was born 2 days late. My due date being the 25th December. Instead, I made my debut into the world, bruised butt first, on the 27th December, 1976.
    They say I was born on a hex. And with the name Helen, and nickname Hellgirl, I now reside, ( happily single, after 2 disastrous long-term abusive relationshits, one of 11 years, and one, 16 years), in Queensland. Putting my life back together, four years on from my escape from the last ex, I think I know why I was kept under lock and key for so long. Life is amazing, it's a tough, but eventful journey of discovery, never boring, and always challenging. Of course I would have chosen life, had I known of it's true existence, over an ever tormenting, deeply insecure man child , made of smoke and mirrors.
    I've learnt to value life over all else, I've seen how truly short it is. So, with the help of my homie, God, I am happily letting the healing process continue . Giving thanks for , well, everything, especially freedom !!! My hashtag , now, #GILF =God I Love Freedom...
    Ramble over, I swear, and now, just expressing my thanks , Dr.C, for putting in an Australian story, featuring that formidable, and maybe one of the very first cryptids , the Bunyip !!
    But, have you ever thought of a story about the most dreaded of all evils in OZ, ( & I don't mean the rat-sized spider on the under-seat of the toilet), I'm talking about the bloodthirsty DROP BEARS !!!!!! 😂😂😂
    Sry, couldn't help myself with that one, hehehe 🥳
    No, they are a strange myth, born of a koala crossed with a Tasmanian devil. Now, that wld be one BRAVE ASS koala, to breed with something which maybe sees it a just a snack ?!?!
    I can't wait for the next part of this story though. I'm so proud of the author's description of the aboriginal man, and his way of being. Spot on, with that, oh and the scene reminiscent of Arnold Schwarzenegger covering himself in mud, in Predator. Smart move, by the aboriginal man. The way the author captured the outbacks many features, like the Joey 🦘, and especially the way the wilderness is recanted, I could practically smell the fresh scent of eucalyptus wafting throughout my bedroom. Beautiful.
    Thx again, Dr.C, for a stellar performance as narrator, and nightly babysitter to my eventual peaceful dreams.... ❤

    Good evening Doctor and good evening all,. No idea how I missed this one, guess I've just been busy, tired and not paying enough attention. Great story, looking forward to the second half! Thanks for the narration and thanks to Page Turner 627 for writing. I've never been to Oz, but i've flown over it, and the vastness of the central desert amazed me! Was flying down the East coast on my way to NZ from Thailand, and the WHOLE view out of the right side of the plane was vast red desert.

    Well ok! I’m all in! This has just the right amount of the best ingredients for something great. Of course to be hunted in the Australian wilderness is not a new concept. And to have to go through it without a weapon is unheard of. And I will admit that I have zero idea as to what a Ranger in the outback of Australia would carry on their person, but to not have a firearm is rather odd to me. It’s fairly well known that many of the world’s most dangerous animals and creatures live there. Both land and sea, so to have a job which puts you directly in the path of said predators without any protection whatsoever seems a bit off. Anyway aside from that, I’m enjoying this a lot. She’s not an absolute idiot. Which is a nice break from the norm. Although I did think that she not even considering that the bushman would not understand English was a bit bubble headed of her. Sure maybe they’ve for the most part educated the majority of them to speak English even at a most basic level. But to truly think and believe without a doubt that there’s no possibility that there are still some tribes who haven’t been found is ridiculous. They probably don’t want to be found and if that’s the case, you won’t find them. That’s it. So her assumption was probably the dumbest thing she’s done so far and that hasn’t gotten her any closer to being killed so she is doing alright. The way that the creature was said to rise from the fissure in the ground did make it seem extremely paranormal. Plus it’s ability to read minds and reproduce human speech and voice, yeah, I’d say it’s a threat of the highest order. So Page Turner, as a seemingly competent author, I am counting on you to not let me down with part two! I’m holding you and you alone with this responsibility. We all know that Dr Creepen will deliver his end, just as he did with this initial episode. So chances are that he’s already recorded the next and final chapter and will bring it to us soon. Until then, know that you are waiting to be judged for your writing prowess, and I have high expectations of you. I believe that you won’t leave us wanting. 😉 Until then..👏👏👏👏👏👏

    • @quentinle4892
      @quentinle4892 17 дней назад +2

      Author here! Wow that’s some high expectations. I set a high standard for myself when crafting these stories. So Hopefully I live up to it.
      As for Willow’s apparent lack of cultural awareness and other slip ups, you have to remember that she’s still a pretty young and inexperienced ranger on her first solo patrol. She’s competent and means well, but she’s still finding her way. She’s doing her best despite everything.

    • @jackdurden466
      @jackdurden466 16 дней назад +1

      @@quentinle4892 Well hello! I’ve rarely had the author directly contact me about one of my comments, so you deserve an explanation. The only reason why I’m holding you at such high expectations is how well you did on this piece, and as good as it is, you don’t have a choice but to bring it with the follow up. Sure I’m placing high expectations on you, but only because I believe that you are able to deliver. It’s a compliment really. See, I actually listen to hear the story, Not to lull myself to sleep. I come here to be entertained and if the writer/author fails, I will let them know, But I am in no way wanting them to quit over a comment that was from an actual listener who paid full attention to every word. I feel compelled to mainly because no one else does, and so so many of the comments just praise the story no matter how bad it is. I’ll never understand that, and that’s something I simply cannot do. So because you did so well in the first chapter/installment, you’ve got some weight on your shoulders to make the sequel as good as the first. I’d compare it to being a one hit wonder band. Sure they hit it with one song, but cannot capture the essence again. So when the time comes, you’ve got an obligation to wow us. The bar has been raised. Although I may seem harsh, I’m really I’m just trying to motivate you. As impressed as I was by the beginning, I’m expecting you to wrap it up even better, Are you up to it? 🤔🤔🤔

    Okay, so let me get this straight during your "extensive survival training" you didn't learn that when you're in a survival situation like this and you have to leave the area that you should first and foremost leave a note stating the direction you're traveling, the destination you're going to, and the relative time & date that you left at each and every stop?!? 🤷
    I mean you took your note pad, so why not leave a note on the wrecked vehicle, which is guaranteed to be found first btw, that you're headed to the waterfall. 🤦
