Here's a real freak story for you from a marine buddy of mine. He was stationed in 29palms during war games he was post as a guard on station with 5 other guy taking 4on4 6hr shifts. On his off shift his team would go eat and sleep in the barracks. Over a few days on post his squad was experiencing odd dreams of spiders, all of them had the same dreams. On their last night on post they all had a dream of a giant spider dragging them to the far corner of the barracks and eating them. When they woke from the dream they found the Lt hanging from the rafters in the exact spot the spider killed them in the dream. They never told the psych officer over fear of discharge.

Great story... but sayin HMMWV instead of “Humvee” kinda hurt my head... also having spent some time at Fort Riley recently, it adds to the creepiness. Just a tip for the doc, googling military jargon can really enhance the immersion of a video.

@@fox19delta21 fortunately, most of us civilians have at least *heard* a lot of the jargon and can understand it easily enough if it's used. Guess we can thank all of those movies sponsored by the American military.
That said, this was kind of interesting. I don't think I have ever heard someone actually say "HMMWV" out loud in a conversational tone. Like, ever. It's almost shocking how ubiquitous "Humvee" has become.
Anyway, good work with the actual writing! If you want to keep writing the gear's name out, you could always give a little key somewhere. "HMMWV = Humvee" as well as any other little errors that may be likely. I am not military or police as mentioned, but I used to hunt and find myself remarkably frustrated by the horrible attempts at pronouncing ammunition names.
That description of a cav scout is actually what Cav scouts think they do. It's hilarious. Probably the most entertaining part of this whole story.

@@pacificshark0178 yeah and cav scouts are the only 'recon assets' I've seen that use the ole 'drive around til they get shot at, then attempt to run away but get lost' tactic. This tactic is especially interesting when combined with the equally effective 'call for fire, but I drive through the grid I gave them and wonder what that whistling soun........'

Gen Custard has a house there (now a museum) and thanks to his wife's apple pie they have a celebration with all kinds of great apple stuff.
they phased out the "horse cav" when they brought in tanks about WW2. because of it My grandpa got reclassed from cav to comunications?
Ft Riley is where careers go to die, and leadership loves to let you know how much they love being there...(every side is the wrong side of the bed and you also will find lots of jacked-up soldiers similar to what you see on "McHale's Navy", Sgt Bilko, stripes, etc.. but without the comedy/fun and a bit more WTF and "blue falcon's")

The best part of my job in the Corp ( MOS 0 3 1 7 ) or more like my favorite part of the job was hunting and tracking.
I grew up in the mountains of Southern West Virginia and join the Corps in 2000 and was chosen to go into the marine scout sniper training program in Quantico Virginia in 2002.because of my lifetime experience of hunting and tracking and just all out being a woodsman, I had the ability to hunt and track small and large game. Whether it be injured from a shot that I took or if I'm tracking it by its paw\hoof prints or blood.
Tracking was just something that was common knowledge to my father, brother and I because it's something we had done our whole life.
And then after I was chosen to goto Quantico they really and truly honed my skills.before I went to Quantico I had the ability to look at a track and guess an animal's weight within about 25 or 30 lb. I could guess the weight of a human or animal by the angle of the imprint of the track that I was looking at after I honed my skills in my training program.
I can tell if a person is right-handed or left-handed by the way they're healed hits the ground. When a person walks, if they walk with the right rear part of their healed down to the ground there right handed if they walk with the left rear part of their heal down to the ground they are left-handed.an ambidextrous person doesn't walk with their ankles out like someone that's left or right handed. A person that's ambidextrous walks more on the right or left outside ball of the barefoot because they have the ability to use both sides of their body and therefore aren't relianton getting lake ridge and thrust from the balls of their feet like a person normally would, they get it from the balls of their feet instead of their heels.
I can tell if a person is wounded without leaving blood by the way they're walking. I can tell at what point they were injured by the difference in their print that they leave. This was very important while in the mountains of Afghanistan when we were tracking individual targets. Sometimes we would be on a goat path and tracking someone and then we would go by where avillage is and where multiple people were traveling on that road, I still had the ability to single out that person's footprint because each and every individual personsFootprint is like a fingerprint. Nobody's as the same. They might look exactly alike if you look at them in the dirt but if you look closely you will seevery Minor details. Such as the angle of a tow if they're barefoot or the edge of a shoe or boot might be worn off more than the other.
Anyone can do it, it just takes practice.
Ever since the "Wierd shit I've seen as a marine" series got popular I've seen an increase in military stories by narrators.
Its a deriative genre full of copycats.

My grandfather was at Ft. Riley just prior to and at the beginning of the US’s involvement in WWII. In his civilian life he was know for his way with horses and breaking and training them. He was in the cavalry until it became mechanized in 1942. He had no interest in tanks and since my grandmother just had my uncle my grandfather volunteered for the paratroopers since the pay was better.
I love listening to stories! I listen to a couple of narrators but when I found you and listened to a couple of your stories, to be honest you Sir, Doc. Creepen are my favorite 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 I've literally been listening non stop!! Your voice and narration pulls me in as if I was in the stories in RL ! Truthfully the Best!!!
Small correction in the story... You will never see any form of recon scout team go in, so-called alone.
even when I had a spotter at a high vantage point... The CO would put at least 10 to 20 Marines around the perimeter of the building, high rise or tower that we were in. They've not put one to two men by themselves since Vietnam. The risk is just too high and way way way too many snipers got killed during Vietnam because of unfamiliar terrain, because there's no jungle in Americaand you need to stay focused on targets with eyes and ears and smell and your spotter is your alternative of all of that and when you're solely focused on targets you can't pay attention to anything else. So that way when you got 10 to 20 guys within 50 yards of your position, you can be confident that you are safe and Soley focus on the targeted area.

I've sit and watch my nephew's play that game and do you realize how much b*******goes into their weapons in that game?it's like a fantasy world. The base weapon that they're using, some of them are actual weapons but all the attachments that they have on themand why the sites look on the guns the way they sound the way they fire everything is horseshit.

Can you do a story of someone meeting there identical double. Had it happen to once in high school but what was creepy was that the guy who everyone said looks and mistsked for me was there only that one day and never showed up ever again. I saw him and I couldn't believe it. It was the weirdest thing I ever experienced. He looked at me directly into my eyes. I was speechless. As he passed me he looked at me and kept walking. I told myself I will see him again and then I will speak with him! I never saw him ever again! I always wondered what was that really all about. Can anyone help with this? Because this was the middle of the school year. So by that point everyone knows everyone in the high school, that's why it was even more strange and that he never appeared again. People actually thought it was me! Like for real. Very creepy. I wonder if anyone has heard about that before
I apologize. I am not, in any sense of the word, a literal author. The good doctor, to his credit, read my story as I had written it. He simply read what I wrote. Any military acronym which may have not been communicated in a way which you did not understand is totally my fault. I will endeavor in the future to be more laymen. Apparently this narrator didn’t pick up that a “HMMWV” means “Humvee.” Being a Brit civilian, it makes sense. But that’s the kind of thing that could use a little pre-translation. Otherwise, good story. 👍🏻

I was stationed at an Army base that had a haunted Confederate fort in the off limits area. I patroled this area in the daytime. Even us MPs never went there at night. True story.

Good Doctor. I have to be honest here. I listen to A LOT of audio stories every day as I'm a Lineman and we are in our Bucket Trucks 4-6 hours of our 14 hour days. You have to be THE BEST narrator of ALL creepy pasta type people doing this. I also listen to you at night to fall asleep. You and Nature Temper (2nd only to you) are my go to channels.
That being said, I can not place the accent. It almost seems 1800s London.
Bunny anyway, compared to people like mr creeps (I swear he's coping your channel) sounds like nails on a chalkboard and balls still haven't dropped and I just want to punch those people.

27:01 I was stationed at Ft. Sill Oklahoma we were walking past Geronimo's grave and the whole platoon heard horses.
I can't believe I've never heard of any Afghani giant creepypastas on here. Every single village that we went to around Kabul and Kandahar and I mean every single village, or pretty much anywhere in Afghanistan that we exchanged information or a info from with or to goat herders in the mountains always told us to beware of what they called blood heads or blood arms. They said that there are giants in The Afghani mountains that have been there for thousands of years. They talk about flood that happened around 3950 years ago.as I sit and listen to them I started to realize that they were talking about the flood that the God of the Jews and of Abraham Isaac and Jacob is who they were talking about. I thought they were talking about a local flood. But when our interpreter ask them if it was a flood from the riversor where did the water come from and they said those water came from the sea and covered the mountains. But they said it wasn't a tsunami, they said it was like taking a glass of water and filling it just below the very top and then slowly push your finger down in the water and that's how the water rose up over the land was slowly over about 40 days. And then when I went back and read what Genesis says, it says that it rain for 40 days and 40 nights. All over Afghanistan at the tops of the mountainswhere people don't live there because of the temperatures and it's just a desert mountain range, you can kick rocks around and see fossils everywhere and I mean absolutely everywhere. Every couple of feet you'll see a bone fragment or a tooth or something like a fern in a rock or a bug on a rock but fossilized. They said whenever the water rose up, the animals had nowhere to go so they went to the tops of the mountains and that's where there's all of those fossils at the tops of the mountains because we're all the animals went up to the tops of the mountains and had nowhere else to go.
The fossils are A LOT older than 4000 years old dude!

In most sediment it takes about ten thousand years for something to fossilize (bones turn into rock) but in sand or similar sediment bunk and fossilized in about 2500 to 3,500 years especially if it's a more moist sediment. Just look at the mammoth's that they found in Siberia that's around 6,500 years old that's fossilized.
The global flood is not even theoretically possible. If you melt every piece of ice and turn water vapour from the atmosphere into water that still wouldn't be enough to cover the entire land mass of this planet with water. The whole Noah story is absurd and obviously a myth, a cool myth nevertheless (if you exclude the global genocide).

But if you remember in 2017 scientists found 7 times the amount of the water on the surface underneath the crust.and then if you read in the Bible in Genesis it says that God opened up The fountains of the deep.when you look that up in Hebrew, which is what the Old testament was written in, it means to literally break the ground open and let the water come up.

You know every major mountain range around the world has my skeleton graveyards on the highest points of them?Because when the flood happened the animals ran to the tops of the mountains to get away from the water.and if you don't believe in God and you don't believe anything the Bible says and you think it's just a mess then you're never going to believe the truth of what the Bible says.first of all let's say according to what we know about physics and things like that, no it's impossible for Noah's ark to happen and a global flood to happen.but when you put in a being that is eternal that's never started and never stop he's always existed and that can literally speak entire galaxies and star systemsinto existence and take a little bit of water and dirt and make a man and breathe into his nostrils and caused him to come to life... When you consider that, that is the one who caused the flood, I don't think that it would be too hard for himcollect all the animals that he wanted to go into the ark as babies, not as adults as the Bible says. The Bible states that they work full grown and if you think about it if God can speak galaxies into then I don't think he would have a problemgathering up a few animals and taking a 600 year old man that took a hundred twenty years to build the ark in the middle of the desert where it never rained before and put these animals on the ark and save them to repopulate the planet. It just blows me away that peoplethink just because he comes from the Bible that it's a myth or it's something made up by man. Also the fact that the stories of the Bible, can be referenced by all these other civilizations around the world... Especially the flood account.

The usa military has a documented procedure that will probably never be used it's about how to respond to a major paranormal event in short when a major paranormal scenario happens they send a few armed teams to guard a perimeter around the area and any civilians are grabbed for medical and mental health evaluations and depending on what the paranormal event details could be sent to a priest of different religions or an exorcist after/during this another group of armed teams are being briefed on the known information of the events and are briefed on exploring the area to find and rescue civilians and discover the origin of the supernatural activity and the team is supposed to be tolded that they will most likely die and see things that will haunt them for the rest of their lives (this procedure was made with no intent of ever being used it was only made as an example for other procedures and the creation of them but if a major paranormal event was to happen it would be the procedure used)

I was stationed at Fort Riley for five years. It was a huge culture shock coming from Miami, FL to the middle of nowhere Kansas. I grew to love it though. I have since left the Army and moved back to Miami, but I often think about Kansas. Especially Lawrence, KS. Lawrence was the most friendliest place I've ever been. A lot of good times I've spent in Junction City, Manhattan, Topeka, Lawrence, and Kansas City.
