Code variances vary a lot. In California an indoor HW heater has to be 18" off the floor and strapped to a ridged structure for earthquakes. Flex lines used for supply and returns and many gas supply lines are flex. Shakin and bakin... Another great job Steve!

Eighteen inches off the floor only in garages in my state, mix of hard and flex lines, no straps, but most installers are using flex to water just to expedite jobs; more customers than we can get to a lot of the time. Using expensive parts to buy very valuable time.

I was just reading my manual for my water heater. It says to check the anodes every year and to replace them if they are worn out or every two years which ever comes first! That seems crazy. Hence I found this video to hear what your opinion on anodes is.

They won't let lead added to brass but they let mercury be in fillings that they put in your mouth. What is the real reason why they won't allow lead in brass? It doesn't leach out, it is integrated with the other metals.

He was my "Wing -man" that day. NO TICKS, either! Molly would enjoy the attention, (and exercise) too. You might just meet your soul mate! It is all right there-- where you could invite her for coffee or lunch. It would not hurt your health either.

customer got his money's worth on the old one. you don't have to they are rated to put right on the basement floor, as you can see the old one held up just fine. but being an industrial mechanic every thing gets put on a pad or is elevated. when i do a hot water heater residential you don't have to. but i try to put it on couple of patio blocks minimum just to get it off the ground. in case washer hose breaks or sump pump stops because of power outage,. but thats just me you can see the old one had no rust on it and was fine. i was thinking that when you were piping the new one

you only need a ex tank if there is a check valve on water meter because it will build pressure when heater by expanshion and blow the relief valve on heater . unless your using the hot water to relieve pressure .. so thats why you need the extank .. look for check valve at water supply /
