This game truly is a sad tale. Nobody wins in this game. Usually at the end of a Professor Layton game, Hershal solves the crime and the antagonist is either pardoned or arrested. At the end of Lost Future however, Layton loses the love of his life again and Luke. Bill Hawkins never will be arrested or punished for the starting of the time machine even though it wasn't ready. Clive will go to jail even though revenge and tragedy are the only things he ever knew in life. Dr. Stungoen will go to jail also and perhaps never find love after his 2 failed attempts. Thousands of innocent people still technically died at the hands of Clive. Clarie has to die again and this time forever. And you, the player, feel remorse for everyone in this game and leave it feeling grief. I love how mature this game is even though it was on DS.

The first time Layton sees "Clare" in the street, and has a flashback, it's the first and possible only time in the games that you see him emotional and all that. Throughout this whole game (as it is the last game chronologically out of the 6 so far), it is so beautiful, sad and emotional to see Professor Layton in love and heartbroken. I am truly attached to this character. Although you see the Professor take his hat off (!!!!!) in this game, while playing the three games after this one it feels fine, however because technically it comes last in the timeline, it's bittersweet that the 'last time you see him' is when he takes his hat off. The end of an era??
Well we do see him in Layton's Mystery Journey for about 2 seconds if that counts. I don't think anything will beat the original trilogy of Layton games, especially Lost Future. Even though I have played all the games 20 times, the ending of Lost Future still hits me

thanks for uploading this. i forgot how much this game meant to me. i'm here with tears rolling down my face, so the answer to the card you inserted is YES
Clive’s realisation that his plans are falling apart is one of the most hauntingly beautiful moments to me. The way this young man, a man who never truly grew up, walks slowly to the window and looks down. Down on the city he made, a giant lie made for the pure reason of destroying the true London. And as the main theme intensifies, he agonises over his loss. He did all of this, all this destruction, all this death- for nothing. Part of him wanted to fail but it’s still heartbreaking.
So descole did survive after azran legacy, as lost future is the latest in the timeline, excluding katrielle and the millionaire conspiracy. I always assumed he was dead and I cried harder because of that because he was my faveroute character 😔 im so happy he is ok

Azran legacy destroyed me too 😔
Lost Future is such a better title than Unwound Future... And i'm American! Luke's VA also sounds better! I need to play these games in Europe!
I disagree with you on both, also an American. I mean, Lost Future sounds better in context of when Claire says it at the end, but as a title, Unwound Future sounds more mystic.
And about Luke's VA...unpopular opinion here, but I hate it. He sounds like a 2-year-old on helium in Europe. Isn't he supposed to be 12 or 13 by this point? WHY IS IT *SO* SQUEALY!?
@@klikbate8916 He hasn't hit puberty XD.
@@drivingwest4867 It should be just a _little_ deeper than that though. I mean, just a little. This is coming from a middle schooler who has to deal with 12 and 13 year old boys all day, none of them sound like this XD
@@klikbate8916 I know guys sound a bit deeper than that, and I totally agree with what you're saying. I was just making fun of him by saying "he hasn't hit puberty yet."
@@drivingwest4867 Oh lol. Guess he's a late bloomer lmao
when i played this as a kid i was so confused but i loved it so much
Layton and his Layton mobile be out performing the Bat mobile
i remember playing loads of the older proffesor layton games when i was younger, and the ending made me cry my eyes out
EVERY FUCKING TIME I WATCH THE LAST SCENES I CRY FFUCK
9:27
This better be the new Smash Bros, and if I'm not in it, I'm going to be very dissapointed.
Top 10 anime deaths and top 10 anime fight scenes in one game.
In the Little London game, Saxton (that's what I called the rabbit) moved into my flat. He hated my decorating.
Man, this is a huge nostalgia trip! I remember sitting and watching these cut-scenes over and over for hours as a child, to the point where I can remember most of the dialogue...
13:21. I love this scene so much...
20:00 How that is possible xD
MaxiCactus Don't question Don Paolo's mechanical ability or Layton's driving skills.
Dude, we have a game here that resolves around time travel, a fake London built underneath of the real London, and a gigantic machine to destroy both and you worry most about THAT scene? For real? :D
l o g i c
Aww the cylinder with two dripping circles on it
thanks for uploading this. i forgot how much this game meant to me. i'm here with tears rolling down my face, so the answer to the card you inserted is YES
NOOOOOOOOO SAD LAYTON GETS ME EVERY TIME!!! IM NOT CRYING YOUR CRYING!!!
people be like "i cry at this every time" like bitch imagine still being able to feel feelings after watching it once couldnt be me
“You can call me puzzlete because that’s my name” oh my god
I didn't cry I think I almost cried I don't know
I think this is the first game where people actually full on die
The voices sound so much better in this version rather than the Unwound Future version for some reason.
Thank you! You have made my long travel with the train as short as a dream :)
time travel is so confusing
Neonlight The Doomhog I disagree
I didn't cry, no, but I did get a bit teary-eyed.
Same, I also didn't cry at ace attorney 3. I did however cry my eyes out on both whilst playing on my 3ds. It hits different ig
It can't end this way!
It WON'T end this way!!!
Shivers
best soundtrack ever
11:50 when your a dog
My heart...
I always thought the whole future city being just a large cavern to be the largest stretch this game ever made
when the question asks if you cried then you already know what my answer is
;C
20:48 those shoes in the background who else recognise them
vanessER yea, that's definitely Descole...
I dont see any shoes?
So descole did survive after azran legacy, as lost future is the latest in the timeline, excluding katrielle and the millionaire conspiracy. I always assumed he was dead and I cried harder because of that because he was my faveroute character 😔 im so happy he is ok
Im confused, explain?
@@sillycat103 you can see he survived in the last cutscenes when he speaks with raymond
Lost future? I have unwound future.
It's the European title. And if you notice Luke's voice actor is also different.
@@serenityadams465 as germans we got "Verlorene Zukunft" which directly translates into "Lost Future". So its not in every country of europe this way
Where men cried
Can't wait for the remake
DID YOU PREDICT THAT BECSUSE IT HAPPENED
Why did Luke have to leave dus he have any parents if he did then they would have gone whithe him I like Luke he's my favorite character in all the games
Amanda Maldonado - As you will see if you have playing Spectres Call/Last Spectre, Luke's parents did move to London with him, but let him go on adventures with Layton alone :) He is safe in Layton's hands
Molly MacDonald *Safe in Layton hands*
I'am new to the Professor Layton games, butt when i first saw Layton and Claire i was,,They look cute together!!!!:-D:-D:-3:-3
