Yes it looks good man. I got 10 90# quickcrete left over from my paving my own back yard. I got covid 3 years and lost all my strength 💪 and never been back to 24 fitness gym in 3 years. Making my own weight from concrete with your instructions
Ive already gone through all the work of researching and building my own concrete weights, and watched the whole thing because I enjoy the quality of your editing :)
best video ever on creating 45 pounders ever, very informative!!! on the comedic aspect, it was funny and very creatively written and directed!!!! well done man!!!!!
I have had these for several weeks ruclips.net/user/postUgkxP26Tir6n60vUkdtn4mbwhRO8cwuJQNy2 and I have been really happy with them so far. I love being able to do a variety of workouts at home when I don't have time to make it to the gym. When paired with a basic bench, there are tons of different exercises and you can hit pretty much all major muscle groups. It is easy to adjust to your desired weight with the dials on each side. They slide in and out of the cradle smoothly. The only downside to this design vs the newer version, is that these are pretty wide. This does limit your range of motion with certain hand positions on certain exercises. Straight dumbbell press would be an example of this. I have to turn my hands slightly in order to bring them close enough together. Not a huge deal to me though. Really happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend.
You're Welcome! I hope the PDF wasn't too confusing and downloaded fine! I tried my best to include all the major units because the majority of the world uses the metric system anyway haha!
After watching a few of these 'mold your own weighs' videos, I have decided to just save up more money and buy plates. I will say this is one of the most thorough videos on making them, and the video was shot and edited in a fun style. Most people might not realize how much extra time it adds to the demo process to shoot and edit all the different shot angles etc. Good job. Now I want a future video when you rep out on 3 plates for squats, and 2 plates for bench. Cheers
I really appreciate your words! And I would DEFINITELY recommend getting actual plates over these if you can! However at the time of recording, and now actually from what I've seen, they're all out of stock on all major retailers lol. The used market is great, but a ton of those are sold out too haha!
Man, I was desperate, searching for a video or article with exact numbers or formulas for making our own weight, and maybe a custom one (like 30kg etc) and I was thinking that my hope was lost. And finally I found this video thanks to the RUclips Home page algorithm. Also, in addition to be the one who give me the info I wanted, you're. Very. Funny. Thanks for this. All of this.
Excellent video !!! Very informative , hilarious and impressive ! It must've taken you ages to edit this thing but man it was worth it. Your sense of humour is terrific and the knowledge you shared for making these plates is the best I've seen on youtube. Well done !!!
This is one of the most impressive videos I’ve ever seen on RUclips. 1. The info was extremely well presented, detailed, and helpful. 2. The editing made an extremely boring topic fly by quickly with plenty of laughs and WTF moments. Beyond impressed... I just subscribed, I have no clue what else you post about, but if it’s anything like this, I’m looking forward to it. I think he’d be great with any type of instructional video. I’m also thinking cooking videos.
I really appreciate the kind words! And honestly I don't know exactly what I want my channel to be! But it'll definitely be me making stuff and things! (maybe a few "how-to's" haha idk)
Absolute lifesaver at the moment!! Managed to obtain a rusty Olympic bar but had troubles getting plate dimensions and this is amazing, imma make the plates over the weekend and see how they come out :)
The best video on concrete plates I’ve honestly ever seen; great instructions and information, great editing, all around great work!! Thank you so much
Out of all the tutorials for this topic this is the best explained one, you dont leave anything to the viewer to guess and thats awesome, fool prool without doubt, really see the effort on the tutorial, great job!
I don't remember DIY video that interesting, useful and amusing! Dude, you might want to consider some writer/director career in your life. Thank you, sir!
Omg I love this video! You give all the information in detail with out letting the details slow you down and me fall asleep. And you're hilarious. I hope you chanel grows man
VERY ENTERTAINING. A few things that i would recommend is, first, score the outer diameter of the PVC core with a round file, to provide a little grip for the concrete. Second, try finding a plastic pail with the same diameter as the plates that you wish to make, and carefully cut using a table saw with the fence in place to give the desired depth. If you have a small router with a radius jig, cut a pattern into melamine to recess the plastic ring, and then use an oil releasing agent to help with getting the weights out of the mold. Great video.
I really respect the work you put in to do the math and get the homemmade moulds at the weights. Very accurate and also affordable. And you shared the information. Thank you so much. I should be able to have space to do this maybe in a month.
This was great. I took it a little further. I used the plates to make dumbbells by putting them on gavanised pipe by making a 1 inch hole then using a floor flange on each side of the weights on each side welding them to the bar then covered them with flexseal. I think I'm going to try the material for truck beds to see how it works on a set. I have built everything I use, but your video really helped with weight plates. Note I had to adjust the weight of the plates with the smaller hole, and steel, but it feels safer then trying to put a handle in the cement. Heavy pipe welded just felt safer and sealant helps to keep the chips from falling.
i just saw the full video, 20 minutes. then i realized you only have 242 subscribers, i cant understand how or why. you got yourself a new one. great work and great video
I really do appreciate your sub! I just started my channel so I'm still figuring out what exactly I want it to be! Plus I haven't been able to make any videos recently so I'm not uploading a ton right now haha!
Best video on the topic, very thorough and entertaining. Editing is really good, can imagine it took a load of work. Keep making vids! Maybe make something about how to make a DIY weight pulley system, would like to see that
I appreciate the kind words! I have been thinking about other "fitness" related doodads, but there already great tutorials out so not sure if I can make better haha!
Tips for concrete: 1. use a really good mask. Like silicone ones with cartridges. Lung cancer is a thing 2. You can wet the concrete while grinding to reduce dust 3. Use a recipricating saw with out a blade to level/smooth and remove air bubbles.
Awesome video! Well researched, well executed and definitely deserves more views. Lots of humor and great postproduction work. Remember, concrete continues to cure and gets stronger for up to ~28 days, as long as you keep it moist. That excess moisture is a good thing. That said, your video is better than any I have seen on the subject.
I appreciate it! and exactly! The excess moisture is indeed a good thing, but for people who wanted weights ASAP I figured 4 days is a good minimal wait time for them to be usable and close to their final true weight! But, I'm no concrete expert so maybe it's better to wait longer before using them?
Great video man, was wondering if you could do a update on how they held up? Would be interesting to know if they need to get updated on a yearly basis
Sure! I dropped one on accident right onto the concrete floor and it had about a hand sized chip/chunk break off, and the coating I put on has held up but still is peeling off lol so definetly recommend truck bed liner instead, but other than that they've held up find and still work!
Came for the diy instructions, stayed for this guy! Thank you for such good quality video!
Lolz! Thank you! I'm glad you Enjoyed!

I actually have the ability to pause time, so really it only took me 1 second to edit the entire thing.

Haha! I appreciate it!
This guy's editing and comedic timing is legendary
Thanks!
The editing was on point! I also appreciate that your plates aren’t ridiculously thick the way some other homemade plates are
That's so true! The 45's actually turned out slightly thinner than those black rogue bumper plate things.
I can't even imagine how long it took to produce the video. Kudos! Very entertaining.

That was the best tutorial for plates. Homie broke that down Barney style.
Barney is a dinosaur from our imagination
And when he's tall
He's what we call a dinosaur sensation
Barney's friends are big and small
They come from lots of places
After school they meet to play
And sing with happy faces
Barney shows us lots of things
Like how to play pretend
ABC's, and 123's
And how to be a friend
Barney comes to play with us
Whenever we may need him
Barney can be your friend too
If you just make-believe him!
Tips for concrete:
1. use a really good mask. Like silicone ones with cartridges. Lung cancer is a thing
2. You can wet the concrete while grinding to reduce dust
3. Use a recipricating saw with out a blade to level/smooth and remove air bubbles.
All those are great!
You did a heck of a job on the video. Very entertaining and educational
