Today SWR Class 701 , 701037 Entered Service And I Took A Ride On It From Clapham Junction To London Waterloo & It Worked These Services

Nice to see these in service, although the "New Celia" voice onboard does not sound good compared to how the Class 158's 159's, 450's, 455's, 456's and 458's had it.
I think it should have the same announcements as in other aventras (710 and 345 or 720 and 730)

Nice one! Interesting that these units have Celia Drummond announcements, especially considering her announcements are currently in the process of being replaced on the rest of SWR’s fleet with Elinor Hamilton.
It's "New Celia" - slightly different and slightly slower than normal.
I believe 158/159 units are only getting Elinor Hamilton announcements
Nope as 444s 450s and 455s have them now but only on penalty fares Elinor also does 484s now replacing Cellia completely on the Island Line
They are gonna be changed to elinor at some point, I've seen test annoucements from Portsmouth to Southampton in Elinor voice and it wouldn't make sense if she recorded them just not to use them. Reason being is that the 701 software is actually outdated at the moment and they haven't been installed in other trains yet because there's a process if doing it in each train

Class 730s sound much better
For most people a quiet train is a good thing
@andrewreynolds4949 well there's two things I could argue
. Audiable motors doesent equal noisy train. They are usually pretty tame anyways
..second, on thosee more audiable trains most people don't seem to care. Electrostars are a good example
I just don't see the need for excessive motor dampening when the majority of noise comes from the track run/wind/ track joints. If that gets fixed, no ones really bothered. Most people aren't snowflakes or gonna have a panick attack listening to moderate motor sounds. That's the way i see it .
Also let's not forget stimulation on journeys, sometimes a bit of ambiance is good if let's say no one has a phone on them amd want to enjoy the ride. Even the new electric busses have audiable motor sound. They are smooth sounding
