Koyomi is at the edge of being able to pretend he's still human, if he turns into more of a vampire from this point he'd die in the sun because of his weak regeneration powers, hence why Shinobu told him to be safe and not risk anything without knowing for sure that he'd be fine.
Araragi vampirism did not go down, Shinobu said the he could turn into dust now and to avoid sunlight just in case, but this episode has shown us that he still pretty human.
