This just blows my mind. Jakob Dylan is just so great.
After listening to Jakob Dylan’s “Nothing But The Whole Wide World” (2010), here is what producer T-Bone Burnett had to say : “The song isn’t just BEAUTIFUL AND INSPIRING. It owns [Jakob’s] birthright comfortably without any jagged vibe. Growing up in LA, in the privileged and complex way he did, you cast about for identity.* He’s fought his way through and written A CLASSIC AMERICAN SONG. I told him, ‘Go write 10 or 15 more like that and we’ll make a record,’ THINKING HE’D NEVER DO IT.”
Taking that as a challenge, Dylan ended up getting 15 compositions together in some six weeks‼️ 💚🌎💜

Just saw him on PBS with the Secret Sisters, awesome song and singer. We get to live in a time with Bob Dylan and now his son................life is great!

To the guy who said this was a rip off of van zandt's pancho and lefty, you think maybe he was inspired by that song, you can write songs that are inspired by another, i don't see how this is a rip off... and not to bring up bob dylan but i suppose i will, most of his early stuff was inspired greatly by woody guthrie, even used the same tune as a lot of his songs, just changed the lyrics, he certainly wasn't ripping him off, it was more of a tribute, a lot of artists do it...
This song is no ripoff. Different melody, different lyrics, different subjects. How anyone could say that is beyond me. I like this song better then Pauncho and Lefty even though it is a country standard.
