Good luck on finding all that bomex stuff. Really hard to come by nowadays. For wings you have the option of the supra mid wing, the stillen mid wing, and the wings west mid wing (unless you come across the super rare abflug version 4 wing or the rarer tommy kaira wing) Yeah sorry to hear about the third brake light, it really is very common. It's pretty much why most of the Z's in the community have ditched the 3rd brake light for a wing with/without the third brake light to cover it up.😅 Edit: I can't tell if you bought it from Z1 motorsports but if so I'd suggest getting it from Concept Z Performance instead. They tend to package things alot better

As former owner if both a Gen 1 and Gen 2 MR2, I approve of this video! It's a MR2 owner's right of passage to hoist the body up by the rear to remove the engine from the bottom!

@17:01 if you use a torch or a propane salamander heater to heat up that fiber glass bumper, it will flex insanly easily and once cools back off will "reform" to your new shape, ie. align with oem body line instead of being forced into place
Order the 3rd brake light from your Local nissan dealership! you can inspect at the counter when you receive it and if it's broken they'll order you another one until it's not broken. It's the best way to do it. Everyone else online does not guarantee that it will not break during shipment.
Oof, my heart sank seeing the third brake light broken right out of the box. I hope there is some sort of parcel insurance to cover it. On the plus side, that Bomex bumper is a win. I'm more than okay with rice 😁 (I can get some orange chicken on the side). Seeing the wiper working was definitely very satisfying!! Looking forward to more KA24 Z32 adventures! 😊

What about doing a quick and dirty diy paint job on the bumper and the hood? even with just some cans you can get a pretty good result! I recommend getting some 2K clear cans, they produce an almost 'show-quality' finish

Not that it matters a ton, but the n/a engine in the MR2 is a dual cam. It’s still slow af but it is technically related to the 4th gen 3sgte that’s going in.

pro tip for you mike! if the spin on filter has the plastic wrapped on it from manufacturer, that means it comes prelubed! but extra oil doesnt hurt anything :)
I just dropped my Cobalt SS engine out the bottom this past weekend. SO much easier than out the top. Nice to see that the car is going twin cam AND turbo!
JDM bumper cover is the best looking one for that car. Also the JDM taillights would make that Z look awesome. This was the plan for my 1990 2 seater, but I ended up selling the car for a 97 200SX SE-R.

i think the perfect wing for you'd be an abflug type 4 wing. not sure what you'd think of it but personally i love the look of whale tails such as dspeed or that one abflug one (i forgot what ver it is) i believe abflug still sells these new, but don't quote me on that

When I'm draining a "sketchy" engine I like to put a neodynium magnet on the underside of a steel sheet, and then run the oil coming out over it as it drains. That way you can pick up any metal flakes to have a better idea how bad things are. It's often surprising how much "finer particles" you otherwise wouldn't see visually in the oil that you can pick up. And yeah, I'm swear by magnetic plugs. Actually pulled one once where there was what appeared to be half a ball bearing stuck to it prompting an engine teardown. Could not figure out where or even what it came from... which is... disturbing. That was on a 2.17L 1980 Talbot Sunbeam which was kind of an odd car to find in Taxachusetts.

believe it or not, that open faced nut is oem on z32 for wiper arms, they just have a plastic cap that covers them
