My friend told me to sign this Bosnian/Swedish striker, born in 1981. Zlatan somethingsomething-ovic. I found the kid, signed him and tried to develop him but he was kinda crap. Turns out instead of signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, I signed Zlatan Muslimovic!
Who remembers Bojan and Henri Saivet? FM did make me aware of the Shaktar boys (Willian, Douglas Costa, Fernandinho and Fernando) and let me know how good they would be before they were picked up by Chelsea, Bayern and City.
haha I am from Bulgaria and at some point he was more popular outside of the country than here. So popular that before a qualification game against Sweden a Swedish journalist asked our national coach if Todorov was called up. The manager was like 'yeah, we have called Svetoslav Todorov' (playing for Portsmouth back then) and the journalist replied 'No, not Svetoslav, but Anatoli Todorov?', needless to say that most of the people in the room were shocked and didn't know how to respond.
Nicolas Millan on FM2007 (maybe 2008). He was a king on my Argentine league game with Nueva Chicago. Also used to always sign Morten Gamst Pedersen when he was still in Norway before he went to Blackburn. He was a star on the early CM games.
Freddy Guarin was a player I used to sign all the time. I found him by chance managing Bristol Rovers, I got them into the Premiership and I needed a defensive midfielder, he wasn't getting games for AC Milan so I brought. I'm glad I did he was a work horse and a dead specialist. Lukas Hradecky was usually a good goalie to sign and I liked Hao Junmin, he was a good winger, who could score a few freekicks and long shots
Nicolas Millan (2007), Nikola Zigic (2007), Danielle Vantaggiato (2008), Cesar Delgardo (2008), Leigh Griffiths (2014). All golden boots winners for me. Leigh Griffiths as a Champions League topscorer in my Wolves save as well. Greatest game on earth.
Currently my favorite wonderkid is Christian Pulisic but Eder Alvarez Balanta has always been someone I loved to get until FM16 where he was always average for me.
To Madera. But he didn't actually exist so I guess he doesn't count. Jhon Arango could be on this list soon. Best living legend, probably Tonton Zola-Moukoko
Freddy Adu it was ARIS player at 2010,i support ARIS and i have to say that Freddy had very good dribble and pace but had not the mind to makes great career.
Cherno Samba was a legend for my Blackburn Rovers 02/03 team. With him I qualified for the Champions League in my first season, won the CL in my second season (Samba scoring in the final against Roma), and went on to win the Prem the season after. R.I.P. CM Samba
remmember how good was Morgan Gamst Pedersen, and from before, Bakayoko, Florian Maurice, patrice loko, bruno n'gotty, sonny anderson .... i miss this days of playing championchip manager .... filling nostalgic
Lebohang Mokoena, Fernando Cavenaghi, Julius Aghahowa, Valeri Bojinov, Chavdar Yankov, Tim Wiese, O. Peralta... one of these was "must" no matter which team you pick lol
PP Hyjynx but Europa League is a competitive league. Balo's scoring goals in that as well. I believe a move to Nice has given him confidence to score more goals. I think he's back
In FM14 my favourite was Timo Werner and Dória. On FM15 was Frederico Bonazzoli and now in FM16 is Andrija Zivkovic. They are must buy players for me in these games at almost every club I play with(at lower leauge sides obviusly imposible to sign them because the bigger clubs who are interested in them.
There's this one guy who is a free agent in the first season, Dale Jennings, he'll become a legend, he's five star and plays for Forest Green Rovers in my save. I found and signed him, and he's injured for 3 weeks.
Daniel Braaten, hands down the greatest. He would shit and pee over any defense whether he played as a striker or an inside forward on the left or right, or as a more traditional winger.
brings back memories of the old school champ man days before FM took over as the forefront. took me right back to playing when I was 7 and abusing the free transfer glitch haha
Some player from Shaktar Donetsk in Champ Man 03 04 (red one?) Great player, could not sign him due to work permit issues. I also had David Dunn receive an 18 month ban for hitting a referee in the middle of a game :)
Fappuccino I have so many different saves. I have won the champions league several times with Berwick Rangers and Havant & Waterloovile. Its so much funner that FM. on 2007 you can sign Messi on loan for 500k for any championship team lol
The one I played most was 00/01 and he turned into the best striker in the game by 2007/8. Won me the Champions league with Barnet 3 seasons in a row. I remember when he signed for Portsmouth in real life about 7 years ago. I thought he was going to be amazing!!!
Tom Hammond i know right!! i wanted to get a pompey shirt with his name on it. My cousin and i played serie b and i bought him from Anderlecht and absent mindedly didnt set his release clause, the default was only £7m and my cousin triggered it. Very controversial, we didnt speak for weeks. Bastard won the Coppa italia with him too. every goal was a dagger into my heart.
Jovetic, Ter Stegen, Draxler, Yann M'vila, Pastore, Sebastien Frey, Guseppe Rossi, Ever Banega, Lucas Biglia, Dario Srna, Denlison. Also cant remember what version of FM, Riquelme stats almost all 20s.
Fabio Paim was actually accused of rape during his time in Lithuania. There was even a police investigation launched, so it was a serious accusation, not the "he looked at me the wrong way" kind. After this happened, he left the club and the country. He had decent technique (for a 2nd division club in Lithuania), but you could really see that he wasn't very interested in playing the game.
how come you all remember anatoli todorov but not georgi kakalov? they were both playing for litex back then and if you could get them, 60 goals were guaranteed for you in every season.
nicolas millan, sherman cardenas, carlos fierro (and his fellow Mexican, i forgot it), georgy kakalov, mikael dahlberg, adryan, tommaso valiatti, many morr
Coman Andrei aah, cm03/04 Toledo was the best player in that game, he started in an italian serie B cĺub and could be bought for +/- 15million BEF, than you also needed daniel braathen, pablo nino, ory ferry oskarsson and a few other players who's names don't come to my mind now
Pietro Pellegri in the recent games FM18/19 . Thank me later. Wasn't Nil Lamptey a legend in some of the original CM games now that's going back some 👍🙌
this seems to be a lesson about what happens when you hype players up so much before theyre old enough to handle the pressure. like lmao at the guys who were touted as the "next best thing" at fucking 13 and 15 years old.
Javier Saviola in cm98/99 was different class, had a good career by anyone's standards, but was meant to be a new Maradonna which he most certainly wasn't and then some other small Argentinian chap came along and nobody really cared about poor Javier anymore...
Mine was Christian worns, was apparently the best defender you could get back in the mid nineties championship manager. Actually never heard of the guy in real life after that, was supposed to be the next top defender
A hit and a miss.
lol he was loved in Greece, he had a great career here
Who remembers Bojan and Henri Saivet?
FM did make me aware of the Shaktar boys (Willian, Douglas Costa, Fernandinho and Fernando) and let me know how good they would be before they were picked up by Chelsea, Bayern and City.

haha I am from Bulgaria and at some point he was more popular outside of the country than here. So popular that before a qualification game against Sweden a Swedish journalist asked our national coach if Todorov was called up. Ezquerro anatoly todorov, georgy kakalov, and with valery bojinov I made a bulgarian tridente for parma in CM04/FM05
Nicolas Millan on FM2007 (maybe 2008). He was a king on my Argentine league game with Nueva Chicago.
Also used to always sign Morten Gamst Pedersen when he was still in Norway before he went to Blackburn. He was a star on the early CM games.
senzu_bean fm07 good times. I was reading the comments to see if anyone would bring him up.
Freddy Guarin was a player I used to sign all the time. I found him by chance managing Bristol Rovers, I got them into the Premiership and I needed a defensive midfielder, he wasn't getting games for AC Milan so I brought. I'm glad I did he was a work horse and a dead specialist.

FM10 Adam Le Fondre, after I was sacked, I got the Coventry job, with him as the starting striker. 2 seasons later, we were 3rd in the Prem.

To this day I'm still confused about Ääritalo. He's never been anything special, I don't know what the guy responsible for his stats was thinking.
Sander Post, Filipe Da Costa, Alan Pulido, Leandro Damiao, so many
Lebohang Mokoena was a beast in FM 2005.

him and erick torres were amazing from 2011 to 2014
dontdodissbliz Fierro is a beast in FM 2015 scores goals for fun
dontdodissbliz I remember fierro was a beast in 13-14 and his club would ask 25 million for him, I would just cry because I was managing Portsmouth
That dude won me so many titles in fm 13 it was ridiculous
Toto Tamuz in FM 2008, goal machine
Cherno Samba was a legend for my Blackburn Rovers 02/03 team. With him I qualified for the Champions League in my first season, won the CL in my second season (Samba scoring in the final against Roma), and went on to win the Prem the season after. R.I.P. CM Samba
Espen Johnson the Norwigen Keeper for IK Start.. Always a must for me.
Andres Guardado - was an absolute goalgetter in the 06/07 version. Never lived up to that though...
Artem Milevskiy
Diego Buonanotte
Gai Assulin
oh man Assulin he was beast!!!!
Sherman Cardenas was I think FM 06 wonderkid
Eldar Hadzimehmedovic, Maxim Tsigalko and Cherno Samba, greatest attacking trio on CM 01/02
Lulinha and Breno were fantastic and would accept offers to come to legue one but would also fit it at Barcelona
Guido vadala. Bought for 400k. 2 years later 100 mill

Goran Slavkovski in FM07, anyone? He was a beast, alongside Zlatan at Inter de Milan. My favorite FM player ever.
Used to love Lulinha on CM4. him & Fabio Paim did wonders for me
Well , I thought M. Depay may be the text CR7* but I don't know what to think now.
it's still possible, he is still young
Cr7 won the league-European Cup double scoring 40+ goals when he was at Memphis's age
+PP Hyjynx yeah kinda like how Balotelli is destroyin Ligue1
Aditya Ramesh yeah but ligue 1 is a uch easier league than serie a or the prem
PP Hyjynx but Europa League is a competitive league. Balo's scoring goals in that as well. I believe a move to Nice has given him confidence to score more goals. I think he's back

The problem with Freddy is he was about 4 years older than his reported age. Most people with some sense saw his failure from the outset.
Pietro Pellegri in the recent games FM18/19 . Thank me later. Wasn't Nil Lamptey a legend in some of the original CM games now that's going back some 👍🙌
Anatoli Todorov, that once smashed in 120+ goals in one season.

this seems to be a lesson about what happens when you hype players up so much before theyre old enough to handle the pressure. like lmao at the guys who were touted as the "next best thing" at fucking 13 and 15 years old.
Daniel Holm, norway i think, he was great in fm 2005 i think
Gabriel Barbosa was insane in FM16
