I just seem to be drawn to all the fantastic haberdashery and fabrics available in the UK. So it's lovely to get to "meet" some of the creators of the products I use and of course to see how much fun you are having in the process. As always, thank you and I hope you know how much you are appreciated by your US fans.
That was great, Hayley. Fun to get a look at the booths and people who sell the things we love. Thanks for taking your time there to record parts for us. I'm so jealous your stitch festival is primarily for garment sewing. Ours in Washington state is geared for quilters now. I don't think I have a large enough suitcase to carry all the things I would want to buy if I made a trip to London for the show. Love everything you bought. Thanks for sharing.
Yes. It was earlier this month. Years ago Nancy Zieman, Sandra Betzina, Connie Crawford were there as well as what is now the big 4/5 reps who were looking for feedback. My hope is that it will include more dressmaking in the future.@@SewHayleyJane

I agree totally. I feel like you took us along with you and yes, you are brave to face your fears and it's obvious that you really enjoyed it! I too would love to go to the UK one day and go to the stitch festival. Is it always on at the same time of year? Unless you’re a nervy traveller, absolutely come on your own! I’d be very happy doing this alone, there’s plenty to see and do and if you do one or two of the workshops you’ll soon be chatting to people.
I’ve never been to one of these shows but there’s going to be one in Belfast, Northern Ireland, about a 2 hour train journey away from where I live, in November this year. I am sooo looking forward to it. I’m not going to tell anyone I know that I’m going, except my husband, of course, as I want to be able to browse in peace for as long or as short as I want. I know that probably sounds selfish of me but I prefer to fabric shop without other people’s interference/opinions. You should go on your own - it could be fun & you might meet some friendly sewers while you’re there.

Hi Hayley, I went to the show on Friday with a friend from college. We both loved it and she wants to make plans to go every year! 😂 I didn’t buy much - a quilters' 18×6 ruler which I've always wanted, twin needles and some Pikachu cotton fabric... Thanks so much again for the tickets ❤
Hi Hayley. What a great time at the festival. The pattern for the dress you saw across the room might be an old Butterick pattern from the 1980s (No. 3652). As usual from back then, it probably had a dinky size range. Some sizes are still available on Ebay. I just pulled the pattern out of my stash yesterday as a possible to make for my mother-in-law who at 96 needs a dress that she can get in and out of without having to pull it over her head and raise her bad shoulder. The pattern has a tiny collar, buttons down the entire front, four pleats from the shoulders instead of bust darts, and full long sleeves gathered into a cuff, Antonia

The sweatshirt design you mentioned with bishop sleeves and deep cuff are similar to the Maven Patterns, 'Somerset T-Shirt'. I've made it with the bishop sleeves and it's lovely.
I really wanted to go this year but my daughter is 8 months pregnant and, understandably, she didn't want to be making any plans that close to her due date, especially as her last one was 3 weeks early. Also, I didn't feel I had saved up enough money (as I know I will spend a fortune!!). Definitely going to go next year and may drag my sister along as well.
The dress you described sounds similar to the Wardrobe By Me Freedom Dress. There’s a tiered skirt option, a partial button placket, and a collar band (with a tie option). Not sure if it’s a match but maybe worth taking a look!
