He stole parts of his style and vocab from Mac Dre. No one ever gives Mac Dre the respect he deserves.
I think Snoop is overrated. I think he only has a few good songs. He's one of them cats that shines far brighter as a feature on other people's songs.

But it was the same with Biggie.
Pac and Biggie were arguably on the same level in terms of rap(not sales. Pac was winning that shit). But Pac still had a bigger influence just because he was basically know worldwide.
Biggie and Nas never really left the western hemisphere, but that doesn't make them inferior.
Top 5 should be a top 10 because we have too many greats!

When Snoop first entered the game, he took over the sound waves on the west AND east coast. Doggy style is one of the best hop hop albums EVER too. Hate it or Love it, Snoop is in a lot of top 5's for west coast rappers.

Nobody has ever had that super smooth-chill flow like Snoop. His rapping is artistry at its finest--that kinda flow could only be topped by Biggie---cause Jay, Em, and Pac are hard af when they rap. Especially Em and Pac--Jay somehwere in the middle of them both. Great list! Kendrick is the embodiment of all these artists. I love it!

I’m close to his age, grew up in the same era, and that is a totally valid list. Honestly, it’s pretty much exactly what I would’ve imagined, save for maybe Snoop. Would’ve been cool for him to go with an unorthodox pick like Kurupt or maybe a Pharoahe Monch, but I can dig it.
Let’s be honest, he’s not gonna name any underground/lesser known rappers like Guru, MF Doom, Raekwon, Treach, etc. all his notable mentions are gonna be bigger than he is.
