    This FRB is a natural FRB in our Universe. This natural FRB we can use this for communication in milliseconds signal for cellphone and internet etc. to communicate from Galaxy to Galaxy.

    The signals may look random because of the motions of the source and receiver (us) and interference (gravitational and electromagnetic) during the signals' travel through interstellar space. Huge power is needed to get the signal across interstellar space relatively undamaged. We can probably only detect remnants from relatively close sources. Most likely these are just escaping photons from a civilization's power sources, not forms of communication. That's what most human signals are. They should be random.

    3 million years ago, in a galexy 3 million light years away, a young, optimistic civilization started broadcasting a becon to the rest of the cosmos to say "Hello? We're here! Anybody else out there?"
    They decided to make the signal random to let other civilizations know their broadcast wasn't a natural event...

    Extreme speculation:
    Could FRB's be the light burst from some type of FTL-Drive...
    Kind of the way, a aircraft makes a sonic boom when it bust the sound zone...
    Or maybe, a natural way of FTL-jumps, from some type of worm whole.
    Just a guess..

    Here's a thought. If we humans were beaming an encoded message, wouldn't that data look random? Any computer nerd has probably tried to open a video file with Notepad. What you see is random garbage. If you don't have the proper key, you can't decode it. So if we go down the alien rabbit hole, I'd guess it was an encoded message.

    It's interesting that with these new radio telescopes that we haven't picked up any definite 'Alien' signals or something that could be from an intelligent source,why would that be? Because 'they' are either not anything like us,or there's nothing else out there at all. Great video Anton,thanks for that.

    Could it be a collection of black holes very close to the super massive black hole at the center of the galaxy all consuming stellar material and the change in frequencies are varying due to which of the black holes are consuming it but also their relative positions altering the frequencies with relativistic effects?

      This isn't a conspiracy. These are real signals that we have received. Since we don't know what causes them it's natural to assume it's some type of alien communication until we have found evidence that suggests otherwise.

    Having a feeling that you're wrong is the very essence of science. Good on you Anton.
    Let's say it is an advanced alien race - you wouldn't want your advanced communications detected so you'd make it look like it isn't a communication. So for example if some distant world might detect you, you'd be happy knowing their primitive minds wouldn't be able to decipher you. Not that a radio signal travelling such a vast distance would be anything close to what it originated as.

  • @WestOfEarth
    @WestOfEarth 6 лет назад

    Fantastic Anton. I had not even heard of this yet, and I keep tabs on most of the good science shows. It's amazing what machine learning can do. I wonder if the same machine learning could tell us what is producing the signal. Wouldn't it be wild if it predicted the source to be from an intelligent civilization!

  • @Lady8D
    @Lady8D 6 лет назад

    My very first thought was perhaps it's an alien civilization that's only just learned to utilize radio waves and they're experimenting with em.
    Far more likely: its something natural that once figured out will open whole new lines of study, yay!

    If you can use your eyes as a camera connected to your Technologies, you can use also FBR as a WiFi in the universe. You understand now?

  • @logantheone_8340
    @logantheone_8340 6 лет назад

    Alright, here’s a tricky question. So you know how the theory of relativity says how the further you approach the speed of light, the more mass you gain. And when you reach the speed of light you’d have infinite mass. But protons travel at the speed of light (and are light) but don’t have mass, yet they are influenced by objects such as black holes. But radio waves emit off of black holes, but they travel the same speed as light, right? Is this a paradox or am I wrong?

  • @W1se0ldg33zer
    @W1se0ldg33zer 6 лет назад

    Our own radio signals wouldn't ever get detected due to how weak they are - fall apart over a vast distance. We don't use the power of a years worth of sun to send them.

  • @Demonic_Tang
    @Demonic_Tang 6 лет назад +1

    Slightly crazy idea: maybe it's a new form of Blackhole that is causing dimensional faults to rupture and the resulting energy creates these bursts at random and often.

  • @irasorkin2212
    @irasorkin2212 6 лет назад

    These repeated fast radio bursts make me wonder what would happen if you slowed down the burst like slowing down an audio recording. Could there be information in there that we can't detect at higher speeds?

    I'm not a physicist or anything, but at such great distances how can they be anything but randomised? Like how visible light is "bent" (don't know the proper terminology) by gravitational lensing, it's the same light, but is perceived differently because of that interference by an object with great mass. Obviously I'm not saying that's what's happening here, it's just an analogy.
    What if we are seeing the "scraps of what is left" after they (FRBs) have traveled across billions of lightyears, like how current is weaker in longer wires because of resistance. Have we ever detected any FRB's from this galaxy? It would be interesting to see what one of those would be like when compared to one sourced from outside the galaxy.

      @Sfirodrepanoskarxarias 6 лет назад +3

      You should keep in mind a couple of things. FRB 121102 is located in a dwarf galaxy 3 billion light years away. That means that whatever event is the source of those signals happened 3 billion years ago. Secondly the power that is needed for each one of those signals is equal to the total amount of energy produced by the sun in a year! So we are talking about something that produces the energy of a whole G type star in a year in just a few milliseconds or less. And it has done it dozens of times so far. I find very hard to imagine that that kind of energy output can be something artificial,especially signals. I mean what civilization would use energy enough to destroy a whole solar system just to communicate? It sounds absurd.

    The differences in frequencies and duration just means they broadcasted at different times and at different frequencies and we're just now picking those up.
